Dear Mods: Please stop making shitty bans in DD. You're ruining us.

It's because we're used to being an obscure subforum on the very bottom of the main page written with ridiculously small letters, because back then it felt like exactly that.
We're just voicing our opinion on this sudden moderation.
Yes we get it, you're upset you don't get special treatment over all the other sections on this forum and still have to follow the rules like everyone else. rules are rules
deal w/ it
It's like when a small town has too many police officers, they start busting people for Jaywalking.
It's like when a small town has too many police officers, they start busting people for Jaywalking.
These rules are easy to follow. You're complaining about nothing and there's no reason you guys shouldn't be subject to the same rules as everyone else.

Except that we're a relatively well self-moderated forum that could probaly keep from devolving into only porn/shitpost threads even if the moderation is lessened here.
It would be interesting to see Garry's take on this thread, I doubt he'd see any differently than the mods though. The mods do have a valid point in that we are trying to justify separate moderation.
'Self moderation' is a really terrible idea, it's just an excuse to break the normal FP rules

More like extra leniency on the rules and/or 'bending' the rules. The rules would still be in place but to lesser effect. We're not asking for you to remove the leash, just give us a bit more room to run around, don't worry, we are house trained.
[sp]Not really important but I love that the only agree is from another moderator.[/sp]
Why don't you guys move to a separate forum like Lifepunch did
Does it really matter? Just use the bloody report function to call mods in.

hey guys we all do drugs and so we are a part of the drug culture WE SHOULD BE IMMUNE TO RULES LOL FUCK THE SYSTEM FIGHT THE MAN
if u want immunity go to a different website
(but its totally beyond me why doing drugs means the rules dont apply to you or apply to a lesser extent.)

I'm expecting nothing to change, I just dig the idea.
garry deleted lifestyles and hobbies because he didn't want little separate communities hidden away at the bottom of the page.
dd was brought back because someone convinced him that it could serve a good purpose if more people posted in it regularly, so it was moved up.
now you guys are saying that the place would be better if it was hidden away at the bottom of the page with your own mod, a password and your own little separate community.
that is the most retarded thing.
-snip-
Not saying we should have our own mod JUST for DD, but a mod that actually uses the forum would be nice. I mean, not all of you mods use every forum you moderate, but you moderate the ones you use.
If something is reported and it breaks the rules, we will deal with it, regardless of whether we
a) are assigned to that section
b) usually read that section
I was just saying it wouldn't be a bad idea.
And guys, if you haven't noticed since the furry section was killed, we are the #1 least liked section on here. Bitching isn't going to get anything done. But if we ask and work with, we could working something out.
We're... not liked?
God dammit!
who are you

You realize that we pretty much all objected to being moved from the bottom, right?

That isn't at all what I'm asking. I'm asking that instead of banning as soon as you get a report, you actually take a second to think about if the post was made in DD specifically for the reason that PUI is acceptable here, and only in here. Image macro? Who cares, as long as it isn't something offensive etc, this is SUPPOSED to be where we contain our stupid posts so that the rest of the forum can be kept "civil" and straight to the rules. I'm not asking you to let this become a free for all anything goes, I'm asking you to take a second and consider that even though it's breaking a minor rule, it was posted with the intent of being seen here as opposed to the rest of the forum. Yes, we need rules. Yes, we need mods to enforce those rules, the problem is you guys turn into fucking ban nazis as soon as somebody sends a report, and I think it's safe to say that a good 90% of the time the reports come from people who never even post or contribute to DD in any way aside from getting members of our community banned because they disagree with what was posted.
the minecraft section has to deal with the same level of moderation as you guys
if they can learn to post under the influence of autism, you can learn to post under the influence of drugs
You realize that we pretty much all objected to being moved from the bottom, right?
i can't imagine anyone who would've been dumb enough to complain since the alternative was staying deleted but this is dd after all so i wouldnt be too shocked.

You really seem to underestimate how easy it would be for us to just go over to another forum if we got deleted. It isn't like this is the only place in the whole internet that we can congregate

Don't you know how Garry thinks

Although we could relocate, I don't think it should be necessary. This thread seems to be revived and reincarnated far too often, and it's kind of getting annoying. The mods ban people because people break the rules. I personally think they are extremely lenient in this section, and we should be grateful for what we have, not what we don't. I just don't understand why many of us are complaining about being modded. It's not like they're just banning everyone for no reason and screwing with us just to screw with us.

Oh god, I'm shaking. So what if he deletes DD, we'll just go somewhere else.
I think we need a contingency plan. What do we do when DD gets removed?
Oh god, I'm shaking. So what if he deletes DD, we'll just go somewhere else.
I think we should plan that 'somewhere else'.
If all else fails, we still have the tinychat\steam, and there's more than enough free forum services.
I dunno about you guys but I like DD, I wouldnt want it to get removed. It just wouldn't be the same, and plus I don't think the entire DD community would want to move
You're missing the point, it ISN'T the same since we moved in the forum, and it won't be the same unless A) we move, or B) the mods change how they moderate.
And that isn't to say that it's 100% how the mods work in here, it's also the influx of stupid new posters, and lurkers.
There isn't much we can do about the mods though. Think of it as the current situation with the legalisation of medical marijuana; the federal government prohibits marijuana, but there are states that allow it and as a result there are clashes. In this case the mods are the federal goverment and DD is the state

The difference is, one situation we have no choice but to bend over and accept it. The other situation we can actually change instead of just bending over and taking it.
The only way we can change this is by talking to Garry. And I'm sure we all know how that's worked out in the past
