A classmate of mine committed suicide today because of bullying

If it isn't an argument why were you so vehemently disagreeing with me on it earlier?

I remember trying to ignore the whole "so you think dying is better lol" spiel you were doing
I was twisting your words on purpose because throughout the entire thread you've been twisting mine. Tell me again why you disagreed with me?

I disagreed with you because I take exception when people say I should just stay in the closet instead of focusing their attacks on the people who deserve them (homophobes)
What's more selfish - taking your own life when you don't want it or taking someone else's when they do
Answer key: it's the second one

Your posts are opinions, not fact. Opinions can fall in the grey area between correct and incorrect, as yours are. But the fact that they're asshole opinions makes them not worth listening to.
I don't really care what more or less selfish, bottom line instead of taking my own life, i would make sure their lives will get a little fucked to.
Then again i'm probably a sick individual, for even thinking this way. Oh well.
You disagreed with my argument that the closet was better than suicide though.
I can see this isn't going to go anywhere soon and you're just going to keep sidestepping whatever you can't answer, I'm going to go play some supcom2.
this is turning into a pointless argument now

What haven't I answered

Nothing, fighting back is just better then taking your life.

Who is the guy in your avatar
I'm not "bitching and crying" about people calling me an asshole. Yes, I am an asshole. Yes, I am narcissistic.
However, neither of those things automatically make anything I'm saying incorrect. People are practically saying "You're wrong because you're an asshole," which means they need to read up on their fallacies.
EDIT:
Ahaha, oh god, it just clicked in my head. I got people fishing through my accounts on other websites now looking for shit to call me out on and I'm the one getting worked up? Oh wow.
You're arguing for how people should perceive emotions. so yes, being a heartless prick DOES make what you're saying incorrect.
Your steam account is RIGHT there, which I clicked out of curiosity. Classy.
I thought these kinds of rants were prohibited a long time ago when another timeless refacial structure of the community was attempted.
welcome to the human race.., where we dont accept people as who they are
this is turning into a pointless argument now
It's not pointless, there a different viewpoints being discussed in a controlled and somewhat calm manner. It's one of the better discussions I've seen in GD.

I'm not trying to argue with you on this, but this is how I saw it.
What you implied, was that people who are homosexual hide their true nature to prevent physical harm. While that may work for physical tendencies, it does not apply to emotional ones. By bottling up who you are, you are essentially cutting yourself off from real adaptations of the world, since you're not revealing your true self, more of a pseudo-self. This means that you must contain and control all feelings and thoughts of your true nature, which adds stress to the person. Eventually, the person will breakdown, which could lead to numerous situations.
Is it right? In my opinion, no. If you are being bullied because of who you are, or what you believe in, you should seek help, whether it be from a teacher, dean, etc. While suicide is an option, it shouldn't be the only one.
Why couldn't he just hold it secret
Suicide in itself is dumb, but bullycide is even dumber. It doesn't fix anything!
Ow I pricked my finger it can be equated to someone getting shot because it really hurts.
Not looking at the big picture is a completely stupid thing to do. Anyone that believes what they are going through is the worst possible thing anyone can go through is not only a little girl, but not very smart.
That is not what I meant. You over-exaggerated my point. My example clearly states that, while I may not be starving, I still have problems. However, my problems can be similar because I do have the necessities for life, in the Western world most people have those necessities. Thus, I have to worry about my future more than everyday survival. I look at the big picture, doesn't mean I have to stop focusing on the small picture. I never said that every problem is the worst problem in the world. Obviously me losing my home because of a recession would be much worse than school work. Yeah some kid in Africa starving is a lot worse than me doing badly in math, regardless, my problem isn't to be belittled because of it.
Also who gets hurt from pricking their finger?
I've never seen anyone get bullied since I was in elementary school.
I didn't know him personally, but a classmate of mine, Drew, committed suicide early this morning after going through constant bullying because he was gay. He sat next to me in English class and I didn't think anything of it when he was absent today, until found out why.
It makes me sick that this still goes on, society is moving backwards. It's still hard to believe it happened, especially over something so fucking ridiculous. The kid was nice to everyone and had a boyfriend he loved. Everyone is wearing purple tomorrow to remember him and get at those who bullied him.
Does anyone here see this going on around their school or work or whatever? Are you the one bullying? I just can't believe it led to him killing himself.
This is the facebook group commemorating him http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=119917488082417&index=1
I just dont understand what is wrong with being gay. Its not like they choose it. But I guess thats just how teenagers are....
I'm here for you broskee.

TV told them it was funny, parents told them it was icky, pastor told them it was evil, pick 1-3

Add two more:
Government said they were lower then you and didn't deserve rights like heterosexuals do.
And their fellow peers tell them things that are being 'faggots' and 'gay' are equated with being bad.

This isnt exactly the same type of situation, but a kid in my school got hit by a car on a country road at 10 PM.
Of course you're probably thinking: why was someone out in the middle of a COUNTRY ROAD at 10PM?
well sir i have absoultely no idea, and no one else knows either.
It was a really strange day when we all figured out he died though. People cried, people were silent, and everybody helped each other out.
Of course that only lasted like 4 days.
Same thing happened last friday at my school.
A football player shot himself because of bullying. They buried him today, 1/2 the school was gone attending the funeral.

May I say that; that is a retarded way of dying.

Not really. Most people don't have your 7:00 PM curfew.
Wasn't the bullies fault, it was the kid for not seeking help or advice.
Wasn't the bullies fault, it was the kid for not seeking help or advice.
Disagree if the bullies weren't there in the first place then it wouldn't of happened and seeking help never worked for me in school it was just a "Don't do it anymore" next day they continue to do it even more and it went on and on until i snapped and punched one of them in the face and got an exclusion and they got jack shit done to them in terms of punishment by the school.
I don't see how wearing purple can be interpreted as a mourning symbol. I wear purple almost every day, and so do dozens of other people I know.
