Fair enough, the kid sounds like a bit of a tool, but not enough to deserve this. We all do stupid crap every once in a while, and even the smartest of recreational users get caught up on occasion. I have buddies that always keep their heads down and never do burnt things who were just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

in this case it doesnt look like it since a long time ago he got caught by his parents and swore not to smoke until college. I mean all he had was a few months to go and he would have been on his own on campus doing whatever. Anyway, i really dont want to make that the discussion now, the real thing to learn here is to keep smoking at home or at a friends place where the police cant just come up and bust in out of nowhere. At least if it is an area where cops are dicks, if you are lucky enough to be in a legalized state, lenient country, or area where cops just dont care then i guess its fine to smoke in public.
also if you are planning on smoking in a public place or something, keep your shit to a minimal. Eyedrops, a joint/s or blunt/s and thats it. Just as long as its something you can flick away if the popo shows up. Trust me, you dont want a shit ton of paraphernalia charges when you couldve just brought like 1 or 2 small things. Also it sucks to lose any of your precious pieces.

If you believe in karma, then he must have done something to deserve this, so just because it wasn't stealing, if he'll go as far to steal from a store (how do you know that store was a corp, it could've been family owned, I'm not going back to that thread to check, I don't really care) then who's to say he didn't steal money from parents, friends? And no, fuck that, he did deserve it, because whether it's legal or not, you play with cards your dealt, so you don't bring fucking 50 something grams just to go match and smoke in a public place, it's called planning ahead and having a plan b, provided you do have to go through getting caught, and the easiest way to avoid that is, bring what you're going to smoke, and by all means go ahead and smoke 50 grams, but then don't be as stupid as to do it in a public place..
