Canadians also use English, son
Learn French or a laungauge based off english, it'll be easier.
Or learn latin, would be handy.
Sorry to dissapoint, French isn't based off of English. Nor are many of the languages which stem from Latin.

Crazy Italians have too much time so they build big-ass castles on top of unreachable mountains because they like to be left alone,
No offence, though
Learn Welsh!

Luckily i'm not Italian so it's all good.
I'm not Japanese, mudworm
OH I'M SORRY, the avatar of a probably japanese man and the name GINTERU (which totally doesn't sound japanese AT ALL) threw me off terribly. Now I know you're just a weeabo.
Where I work we got a shitton of Hutterites and the vast majority are very rude and always bitching about stuff in German, so I think learning German would be fun just so I could fuck with them when I catch them bad-mouthing something.
I would really love to learn Hebrew because I have a lot of family over in Israel. Has anyone used Rosetta Stone that also recommends it?

I've heard Rosetta Stone is amazing.
I think that they offer trial CDs, but i'm not sure.

I used a lil tiny bit at a friends house. The whole system is based around only speaking in the language you want to learn (The immersion thing). I can't attest if it really works, since I only used it for 30 minutes.
Learn Swedish, if you speak English it isn't to hard to learn.
Not that it's terribly useful, since most Swedes can speak English too.
As for Rosetta Stone, it's useful if you use it for long enough, but expect to only learn completely useless things for the first few weeks.
I can't think of too many occasions when i would need to notify someone that their child was on top of an airplane.

Most Swedes/Scandinavians that didn't grow up learning the language often speak it with a very noticeable accent that really disturbs me.
Example:
If you want to build your English vocabulary/know awesome stuff, take Latin.
This.
Russian is Slavic, as opposed to English and Spanish, which are West Germanic Languages.
German, French, and Latin are probably the easiest ones.
If you want to learn Russian though, go ahead. It would help you learn different languages better.
Chinese isn't a language
That's true, many people mistake Chinese for a language when it is in fact defined as the group of languages of China. In China the standard dialect is Mandarin, though Cantonese rivals as the common dialect in southern China and Hong Kong.
Yeah, if you're going to learn Russian, help me by translating what stalker say when you point weapons at them in SoC.
It goes something along the lines of "Baroshnij oh breau". :v:

I've ridden myself of that accent, and learnt proper fine English accent! Though you can totally hear my Norwegian interfering at some words :(
I'm learning Spanish, and i'm due to write a essay in Spain in 2010, early 2008, I couldn't say good day, what's up? and now i can translate written texts with some difficult! :D

True, I live in Finland, right next to Sweden, and 10% of population speak swedish fluently yet I've never had to use that language.

Spanish is a Romance language.

I would love to learn Hebrew. As a matter of fact, it is a required class for a bachelor's in Sacred Theology at the university i am going to.
