You're off by 7 1/2 minutes. Call yourself a seer, puh!

looks like the worlds stuck forever, shame huh.
You still haven't supported your arguments.
- Despite their existence for over half a century, weapons of mass destruction haven't been employed in a way that would threaten civilization as a whole.
- What constant warnings? The fear-mongering media?
The fear-mongering media, the self-proclaimed experts, the experts. Do you say you've never
- Natural disasters have happened since beginning of civilization. Why would they destroy it now? What logic are you using to support this?
- How is oil going to possibly destroy civilization? I don't even understand this point. Unless you mean the lack of oil. If so, why would the lack of oil bring civilization to a permanent standstill? Do you think human invectiveness is that lack-luster?
- Modern wars happen on a much smaller scale than the wars of the 20th century. If civilization was going to be ended by wars, it would have been then.
- Humans wanting power is a syndrome of being human and thus has existed since human existence itself. This is not a new factor and doesn't even have the threat of destroying civilization.
Do you really want to start a debate about my opinion?
If so, don't do so at Facepunch, Steam would probably fit better :v:

What? This is the perfect thread to argue your points.

That's if we haven't either destroyed ourselves by then or colonized other planets.
You really think, that in our lifetimes, all of human civilization will come to an end?
Obviously it won't happen in our lifetime, as end of civilization includes us dieing.
December, 26 2012... boom
It's actually the 21'st December :downs:

Christmas first you asshole. Its going to be the rapture, right after Jesus's birthday. So hes going to be a hangover and probably pissed he has to go to work the next day.
December, 26 2012... boom
It doesn't make any noise.

Of course it will be a whimper in a cosmic perspective. What effect does the death of a messily little race that's only really mattered for a mere fraction of our particular planets history going to have on anything? Once we die out, nothing will change, no one will care, and nothing of value will be lost. We are nothing special, and the universe could give two shit's if we suddenly disappeared.

WE ONLY HAVE FIFTEEN MINUTES!
What will i do with the other 13 minutes?
What makes me think that?
The weapons of mass-destruction? The constant warnings? Natural disasters? Oil? Wars? How the humans wants nothing but power? Facepunch?
Facepunch will destroy civilization!
What will i do with the other 13 minutes?
Me.
You should watch Life After People.
Civ V was shit so not too long.
Asking if civilization will be extinct is stupid. Civilizations rise and fall, look at history and you will see. They evolve overtime due to almost anything, war, sickness, technology..it is really hard to say. Sure we have civilizations that are technically called extinct - but in reality they actually live on in our current time period, most civilizations take policies and ways to run things from one another. We then just refine them to fit our way or life.
Do I think the human race as we know it will cease to live? Hell no, we've been though hell and back. In fact this is a great time in our current time - we have technologies and ways of life that are better then anything. Just think back a hundreds of years ago people died from sickness like diarrhea - now it is just a nuisance to us. The human race has been though wars more gruesome then anything we've known, survived sicknesses and plagues like we couldn't comprehend, and even more then that. We'll do fine, we might lose some people along the way. In the end the human race will stand in triumph and live to tell another day.
As for the scientific dooms day theory, like the sun become a red dwarf. They're very real, but I believe by that time we would have a refined space program and actually be colonizing other worlds. At least that is my dream and idea of what the future will be like. I can't see it going any other way then out to space.

More like hundreds.
We've learned more as a species in the past 100 years than ever before. Human advance is exponential and nearly unlimited. Unless something catastrophic happens in the near future, we will live on forever. We need to branch out through space to better our chances though. Living on a single planet has to many risks. If we were to live on many planets, a catastrophic event on one planet will be just another news story on the other.
either technological singularity happens having use live for billions of years or we nuke are selves back to the stone age and start all over, either way i dont think we will become completely extinct for a while
Hey, fatalist Tim.
Fuck your shit.
Why not today?
Next Hundred years, We've fucked the planet Royal

better shows how screwed Earth would be
None of us really knows. Its like a guessing game. We each take turns to decide when humanity dies. Lets just hope we dont die.
Civilization will end when one nation finishes building all of the components of the super spacecraft, launch it and waits till it reaches alpha centauri.

Though I understand the sarcasm...
Christmas has nothing to do with Jesus. It's a Pagan ritual celebrating winter solstice, and has nothing to do with Jesus' birth.
