Won't power plants that make their own uranium be very dangerous if they went out of control?

If you think that is going to protect you against radiation, have fun growing a couple extra legs.
It depends which material
You can stand right next to an unused fuel rod of Uranium, sure
Now try doing that next to a spent fuel rod, and you'll grow an extra pair of eyes in no time (Or more likely die)
You guys keep missing the point every time.
If you think that is going to protect you against radiation, have fun growing a couple extra legs.
You obviously don't know what your talking about.
If you think that is going to protect you against radiation, have fun growing a couple extra legs.
It can very easily stop alpha radiation
But then again, most alpha emitters also produce gamma and beta....which would harm if exposed for too long

Nah didn't you hear? Hazmat suits let you walk into the chernobyl core and shit! That's what they're made for!
You guys keep missing the point every time.
Your point was radioactive material is no big deal, if I'm not mistaken
Yes it is a big deal and thats why millions of pounds are spent on ensuring the material is disposed of and transported safely
You obviously don't know what your talking about.
Do you?

Your skin also stops alpha radiation.

And you do? Heheheh.
Good luck though.

So the suit will also stop alpha radiation...Which was the point you were opposing
I highly doubt you will get the permission, but good luck!

Just a brochure on the company. The goals are there too.
The suits stops the alfa, but U233 and U232 (a byproduct) has an incredibly high half-life if i'm not mistaken, so expect to be fucked over by alfa, beta and gamma in a small amount of time

We are talking U 233
The decay chain of 232U quickly yields strong gamma radiation emitters:

If we were talking alpha radiation, why would he bring up the suit in the first place?
your children won't be very thankful for what you do.
I love the brochure; how one goal is on another page :downs:

I think he just posted a suit for a joke
Then you said it wouldn't protect him against radiation, you didn't say which but it's not true for all radiation (alpha, as you agree)

Your business plan changed?

Next week he'll have a new idea when he realizes this wont work out
I think he just posted a suit for a joke

Well he posted his suit quoting a person who was talking about U233 and U232, which emits beta particles and gamma radiation.
If he posted the suit as a joke then fine, it still won't protect him against shit though.
Is this guy serious? The amount of water required to cool a nuclear power plant is far more than a garden sprinkler can provide.
What about the emergency services? Everyone in the city needs to be informed about the possible risk of melt down if your "design" even works, not to mention the licenses needed to purchase radioactive material.
What about waste disposal? What are you even going to power with it, it's not as if you can directly plug in your computer or anything, you need a step-down transformer to even utilise the amount of energy that the turbine produces. Where are you going to get the parts for it?
Did you honestly think this through and go over it in your little 14-year old head before rushing into this. Your company manifest is also shit.

Very true. My bad, I didn't notice that quote.
Though, gamma isn't particles :v:

Radiation*, sorry.
You're trying to do what lots of people have already done (LFTRs/MSRs/Pebble Beds are not new), except you're trying to do it with zero capital, engineering knowledge (or experience), alone, and with no permission from any government or nuclear regulatory body.
Wish you the best.

Mommy said she'd spray it with the garden hose a little bit while he's at school

Yeah, but you do realize that alpha radiation is the most ionizing?

Those are fighting words

I did think over this.
