Do you prefer the old buildings or the new one all the way to the right?
In addition, should I keep the ground flat for gameplay or change it up a bit?
Flat, and old.
A list of buildings i think it should include (Not that anyone cares):-
5 or 6 apartment complexes
2 police stations
A few clinics/hospitals
Fire station
2-3 factories
Subway (Which is being done)
Park
Dock
Political house
Some random shit to fill space in
Im going to analyse these ideas and judge them accordingly, just to evaluate.
1.There are obviously going to be apartments, but i think its best if they are within 1-2 whole big apartement buildings, so the city never has to expand at random, perhaps one hotel for the rich and apartment block for the middle/working class.
2.I was thinking maybe the police and fire station could be one building, that way everything isnt split up, We dont want it to take up to much space as we want it to be as simple as can be, i doubt the police want to have to monitor 2 stations what with all the trouble there will be.
3.I think one clinic/hospital hybrid will be fine, i doubt there will be need for a full fledged hospital, perhaps with one player running the clinic with 3 doctors?
4.Refer to 2
5.I think 1 is enough, i dont think a factory is really even neccesary early in the game, its not really any use to the citizens or even the mayor, and having a whole system for a factory building computers or cars is just really complicated, this would require npcs and take away what we want for the game, the factory isnt needed, unless were going to war again.
6.No probs with this, we all need a way to get around.
7.On the outskirts maybe, but i doubt it will be used, but its nice scenery
8.This is being done as normal, perhaps it could be more than just a wooden plank this time?
9.Yep this is fine and standard really.
10.We want everything to have a purpose and not be complicated, remember fallout Rp? that died because there was a huge space, to much to control, and a whole inventory and health system to control, it was to much, just having random crap there for no reason just slows the game down, we want a whole city full of useful things for the citizens, as well as the outskirts filled with oppurtunities for jobs and others such variety.
Can I has fancy car showroom? :3:
Perhaps the cars dissapear behind the apartment block and other buildings, this could be signified with a P sign next to a building, perhaps with an arrow to signify the parking area.
Hmm, sounds ok, but I like everything in view. Perhaps if the subway was lowered we could have an underground car park right in the centre of the city under the mall?
So Code, is this coming along well?
Cause, the Post-Apoc one can be put on hold until this is over.
It'll give me a lot of time to make it epic, and make a lot of new stuff for it as well.
I just think that the way we're progressing we'd release them on the same day and that wouldn't be good! :)
I wanna be factory manager again :D
NPCs just ruin it.
How so?
Perhaps, but its alot to build. Maybe theres just enough space between buildings to fit cars in, but that might make it to big a space.

I have to start from scratch and I work slow so go ahead and release when you finish.
NPCs ruin it because they are not under the players control, they are mindless drones that just move about and say things that dont develop anything, it takes away the freedom, who wants a shopkeeper to be an npc when he could be a player with his own house and story, instead of just being a bland addition by the OP to make sure everything runs smoothly
NPC's also means more multi-tasking which would kill me.

Alright. I work slow too, that's why I tried to get some more people to help out. :)
Anyone fancy making a list of prices? nice reasonable prices mind, i think everything was a tad expensive last time, especially when you could buy a car for 100$ yet a sofa almost cost the same amount. make cars more expensive, and furniture affordable for what it is.
This needs to be addressed:
Some dickhead is going to use IE and fuck up the map. What do we do about it?
Car: £300

TV (large):£100
TV (flat-screen): £150

Credits work too I suppose.

Only allow people on the IE list, if darkening occurs, go back to when there was none, continue from there and kick the person who did it until they figure out what it was, fix it, and then they can rejoin.
Everything should be just a bit cheaper on that list,
Car - 250$ (Average, its up to nick!)
Tv (Small) - 35$
Tv (Large) - 50$
Tv (Flat Screen) - 100$
Sofa - 50$
Chair - 30$
Bed - 70$
Painting/Poster - 10$-80$ (Prices vary)
Bookshelf - 50$
Desk - 30$
Computer - 100$
Laptop - 120$
Paint/Wallpaper - 10$ (For one room)
Table (Large) - 25$
Table (Small) - 15$
Table (Bedside) - 10$
Facepounds
Currency will be poker chips.
Once I've set up shop, I'll make a car price list depending on what cars I put on there. It'll probably be 200 for a little banger and up to 800 for a sports car.
Ok, dont sell em cheap, we want it to be a while before someone even gets a banger.
If your rich you could start with one, and im sure the mayor and police will, but i guess you wont be doing much for a while if you start off with a sports car.
Our currency should be Gumballs. So we can inflate and deflate it at will.
No
Facepounds
It fits the facepunch style
Gumballs is fine.
We abbreiviate it with gb
So. 100gb is a computer
Or you could have poker chips because we are gambling away everything pretty much (its true!)
abbreiviation would be c for chips.
I always thought ampersands would make a good currency, the symbol looks like a currency symbol :v:
I was joking, I prefer Facepounds.
[editline]05:50PM[/editline]
300fp?
Fp300?
1st one is fine.
