it doesn't matter whether or not you finish school. it's just a certification program. i hope you focused on improving your art and setting limits for your projects so you can make something beautiful without overextending yourself. the quality was what you needed, not quantity. I hope you took the advice we've been hearing lately to heart and put it to practice. Don't be complacent anymore. Learn to take responsibility for your life and your decisions. The stress won't kill you if you take everything as it comes. You have the power and the ability to do what you needed to do. Maybe the medication will have helped, and I'm sorry if it didn't. You hopefully went out more and became healthier and lost the weight you gained back, and then some. Go out a couple times a week and treat yourself (and Nikki, she deserves to go out more) for making and hitting milestones in school. Only you can do this. I hope you learned to overcome your fear of the future and are in a better place. I hope you tried to apply to some jobs, and I hope your partner's business is even more successful than she thought it could be. Find a house. Start your life. 2017 was a good step for our security in terms of finances and job stuff. Now we're turning the fight onto ourselves. I hope you've started reading more, keeping up that exercise and all. The big challenge is meeting cool peeps locally and expanding our friends list, so best of luck. Remember plan B isn't too bad compared to plan A, so don't fret! Don't worry if you still live with your folks, that's a good idea (even if you are sick of them). Another half would be cool but still not a priority his year. This year is about YOU. Dear Ezhik, How was your year? Was I able to give you some good memories and experiences? I hope everything is going well for you. For me, I made it where all the past Ezhiks wanted me to be - I am as close to the ideal hypothetical me as I've ever been. Past versions of me fought back the despair, studied, made friends, and helped me end up where I am today. I'm not perfect, of course, but things are just... going pretty well, for me. The world I live in, though... is in worse shape. Because of that my world view has changed a lot, and it required slightly adjusting the dream that we share. The slight tinge of nihilism is a part of it all now, and that's fine. If there's one lesson we should have taken away from that year, it's that there's a limit to how strong we are. Build our own happiness, before thinking about changing the world. Where will we end up, I wonder? It might not be the place where the past versions of me expected to be in the end. But that's okay. Flexibility is good. The freedom you'll eventually obtain will not have a lot of strings attached to it - and that is a good thing to have. The next time I'll see you will be at an interesting time for us. You're close now, aren't you? You probably already have a general idea where you will end up to begin the next stage of your life. But that's still on the horizon for you. For me, the big change of my year wasn't as major as yours will be (though it still came with its own share of "adventures"), so I hope I will be able to prepare better for your sake.
