By this time in 2019, I'll be married, have finished school, watched my sister get married, and be househunting and in a permanent career. Future me, past me is excited but tense about all this. Hope it went well!

Pretty much all that happened for the year was just enjoying life. You started out the year with the same great job as during university. You ended up being almost backstabbed by your boss who decided you didn't get the raise nor the bonus that your older coworkers got for the same project that you were a part of, so you decided to see what other opportunities were out there and tried a job at a IT-consultant firm which sounded nice initially (not to mention the pay was insane compared to the previous job), but turned out to be the job of your nightmares. However, it did lead you onto your current path; being self-employed. In November of 2016, you quit your job and started your own company as well as becoming CTO for a startup, where you still are today. Where 2016 was the year of making money, 2017 was the year of burning them, since the decision to self-finance your firm's product was made. You've never made as few money as during 2017 and you've never spent so much time working, but your prior work on saving up money has really paid of. The game idea you had been working on prototyping for a while was actually picked up by a company on Kickstarter with almost the exact same core values, so you ended up kinda dropping that whole project and just had fun with it every once in a while. Throughout both years you worked hard on weightloss and generally changing your life style and oh boy, is the result amazing. After losing 45kg and having been bouldering for half a year, you're starting to really look in shape. There's still a bit of fat percentage to lose, but that'll dissapear automagically as you keep up your new lifestyle. And after finally beginning to look attractive, you've spent quite some effort on dating and meeting girls. You went into it with zero experience and although the few months afterwards were probably the hardest you've ever been through mentally, you've come out in the other end even stronger than before AND with a nice girl to boot. I'm really proud of our work throughout these last 2 years. Looking forward, it's time to get your firm's product finished so you can start having some freetime available again. Your friends have direly missed your presence (atleast according to them) and you direly miss having the time available to be present. The finish line for your weightloss has never been closer, it's so close you can almost jump across the finish line now, but there's still the last sprint of losing the remaining excess fat. I also believe this is the year where your old plans of becoming a millionaire could actually come to fruition. You've put yourself in a position where you can go in almost any direction you could think of and several of them would put you in an extremely well-off position, atleast financially. I'll leave the choice of which path to follow to you. Sorry dude, i've been really busy in that hellish place but also i've just not found the right words to reply to myself. So yes, first off. I did go to Japan. And as much as it kicked my arse for being so different. (And other reasons we both know.) I seriously i want to go back there, i want to spend more time there but i don't know how exactly i'll manage to do so however. The best option is doing the TEFL thing but you need a degree to even be considered. Hey me. Been a while since I wrote this, so I hope you're doing well. If everything went well, by the time you're reading this you'll be starting university and will have a job and some money saved. How's the new desk? Did you buy those new clothes you've been needing for so long? Did you finally stand up to your sister and mother to get them to stop being pricks to you? If you didn't do any of that, then hopefully you'll get these things done this new year instead. You're probably still alone right now, so just know that past me is rooting for you. There's a chance that things may be rougher for you than they are for me, but hold on for as long as you can. Remember the dream you've got and keep fighting for it, because it's worth it in the end.

If everything goes by plan, you should have just finished your first semester of College, congrats! I hope you're having a good time in the US and that you have tamed the demons in our head.. :smile:
