I used an m60 today. Shits heavy. Id so much rather use that instead as a support platform.
Most of the awkwardness of the M60 comes from the bipod. Take off the bipod, and use the shoulder rest, and it's pretty comfortable to fire. My only experience was with the real thing, though, so I dunno if the same applies to an airsoft replica.
I was
MG36 Complete. There's a few little things I still need to change but it's fully functional as it is right now. I want to replace that shitty looking JG stock I put on there, and buy a new madbull tightbore and a new bucking. Right now it currently has a crappy systema tightbore that I used just to test for feeding issues. Turns out my old inner barrel was so old it caused jams. I also want to find or machine a pin for the bipod. As it is right now it's held on with a zip-tie, but it works quite well.

The CMAG has a nice feature I wasn't expecting. There's a giant spring loaded paddle that pushes the bbs towards the winding mechanism, so hopefully the bbs won't rattle around like other box mags. The motor and gears on the other side of the CMAG look sort of crappy though. Not neatly organized at all, had wires hanging out here and there. Gears are plastic and make a lot of noise when the motor is turned out. The battery pack isn't secured at all, it's just sort of tossed in there. I'm going to have to do some work to it.

Haven't tested it yet, bunch of kids outside next door. Last thing I want to do is laying down suppressing fire in my backyard.
Ender, why are you so cool?
Are you going to put on a G36k carry handle? I like it better on an MG36 than the G36c carry handle.
I don't know about the scoped carry handle. Yes I can put it on, but it's damn hard to use. Scope aperture is so small to look through and the eye relief sucks. If I did use it, I'd attach a rail to the top of it to add an EOTech or some smaller red dot.
I'm debating if I should make a rail to put on the bottom of this so I can use a vertical grip. It would make it a little easier to use, but the CMAG doesn't really get in the way as much as you would think. That or I may toss on the K length RIS just to see what it looks like.
CMAG's are what we call Testicles Mags at work.
lol yeah guys at the shop here call it the ballsack mag.
Tried using the K length RIS. Can't say I'm a huge fan of it though, a bit heavier than I would like.

That's lookin pretty chunky. Sort of ok with it though.
You really do use that JP rifles flash hider for everything.

Eh, i liked it better with the normal G36 handguard. But i was always more into M16A1s and A2 than any railed counterpart.
Decided to paint my M9

I still have yet to dirty up the magazines, so that's next.
So much nicer.
I'm curious as to how your going to dirty up the magazines. Also, you might want to double coat that pistol grip and handgaurds.

It was actually really easy, the weathering method I use only took about ten minutes for all the mags, excluding drying time. I used the same technique on the grip and guards. Before the weathering it was a solid coat of olive drab, the weathering gives it that dirty, uneven look which the pictures make seem more like poor coverage on the olive.
The method I used to weather it was very simple, and uses paint rather than actual dirt, so it won't rub off or clog up internals. I can go over the technique step-by-step if anyone cares.
@ossumsauce: Thanks! I actually bought this AK for a Stalker loadout, and figured a matte black straight-from-the-factory gun would look really out of place. This is the first airsoft gun I've painted, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but it turned out very nicely, and the technique is extremely simple so should be easily replicable with other guns.
catbarf, your AK looks fantastic. Alot of other guys who try to weather their shit also makes it looks awful by overdoing it but yours is spot on.

If you would go over how you did it that would be great. I'm trying to figure out how to do my magazines as well.
I would be extremely interested in the technique if you dont mind c:
It's really easy, you just need to have the right materials. Basically I took a tan acrylic paint (specifically, Vallejo Model Color Khaki, which is about $3 a bottle, although any acrylic khaki-type paint will do), thinned it to somewhere between 1:5 and 1:10 with water, and then applied it all over the magazine (one side at a time) with a paintbrush. I kept the magazine level to dry, so the paint would form pools instead of running all over. The paint pooling produces a realistic mottling effect, but because it's just one layer it looks very fake, so there's one more step. I waited for the paint to fully dry, then took a paper towel, balled it up, added some water to make it damp, and vigorously scrubbed the magazines with it. It buffs off much of the paint, giving it a more random, built-up look, and leaves the paint intact in the recesses (in this case, in the ribbing along the front of the magazines), so the weathering is strongest in the crevices where dirt and mud would naturally build up.
So, in summary, apply thinned paint all over, wait for it to dry, scrub with a damp cloth or paper towel. Done. Piece of cake.
Well, now I've got two KWA guns. My H&K USP, and my Km4 cqb- no pictures of my M4, but I do have some of my USP.
Removing Pictures, Photo Bucket is picky.

Give this man a medal!
Better pictures of my JG G36c. I love this gun. If only the mags that came with it didn't rattle around and I had enough money/usage out of the gun(I live in NYC where airsoft is in a gray area, legally) to justify buying some midcaps, as I've been told it'll fix the problem.

I prefer it when weathering comes by itself. Am I the only one?
But yeah, your AK looks nice, except I dislike od furniture.
I prefer it when weathering comes by itself. Am I the only one?
Typical use in airsoft matches can't always replicate the various sources of wear and tear a gun would experience in the field. It also would take absolutely forever to get to where mine is now. Not to mention that replicating the mud and dirt would require exposure to mud and dirt, which could pose a danger to the internals.

Thanks, I figured OD was the best non-black color to use, and it fits the Stalker loadout I bought the AK for.
Talking about weathering, mine is blued, so the bluing degrade at each game, and specially, since I abuse of it in purpose, it gets scratched pretty fast.
The parts were brand new at the begining of the seasons, a splendid 500$ or so.
To each their own I guess
Blueing on an AK? Don't they use some material that's illegal in the U.S.? If blueing on an AK looks good then I might be inclined to do it myself
Well mine is blued for the most,

Take a close look to everything in the front.
I can't really tell any difference, just seems a bit darker. I might try it on my AK
