I still have my first gun. Or rather, the remains of it.

My first gun was a Crosman CO2 pistol. Was surprisingly accurate even at 70 or so feet.
My first gun was a Wal-Mart clearsoft springer P226. It got pretty good range but I don't know how accurate it was because I ran .12s through it.
I hate to break it to you, but that's still a Walmart springer.
Eh, it's still probably a piece of shit but for my first pistol (I was going to use it for a costume prop anyway) it's not the worst.
It's certainly better than I remember any of my friends' pistols being, but they were all clear anyway.
I remember one time my friend was using his on Halloween and the catch for the mag broke, so he sat there for like 30 seconds trying to put it in :v: Then it hit him that it was broken
nothing really wrong with a walmart springer, springers are pretty damn reliable.

yeah IMO if you buy a springer to go plinking with, that's a perfect role for one and you shouldn't expect a whole lot. I don't know how they are in real airsoft wars but I'd imagine it wouldn't be a terrible last resort (of course CO2 pistols fit that bill better)

i
actually want one of those
it was actually equalling the range of my gbb p226 with .2s and fits nicely into my serpa

It was the best thing ever until the magazine release and trigger broke.
My first gun was a TM Boys M4. It was just a plain old M4, but like 3/4 smaller and ran off AA batteries.
My friend's still got it since i gave it to him to fit a new connector on so i could use it with better batteries. I need to ask him to bring it back so i can do it myself, since he's taking forever with it.
If i get it back i'll take pictures and maybe a video.

i had one like that!!
did the batteries keep dislodging and not working properly for you too or was that just mine that kept doing that
My first gun was a Firepower spring pistol that was a mix of like so many different kinds of pistols.
Also, what the heck is a Big 5? I've heard of them a lot on Facepunch, but I have never ever seen one before. I'm assuming it's like a sporting store like Dick's or MC?

the walmart of sporting stores
I had some CO2 pellet pistol that I shot at a target I had on my dad's shed. Then some of my friends had springers so I convinced my dad to bring me to Walmart and pick one up. Brought it home and it broke the first time I tried to fire it. Didn't do anything else airsoft related until a couple years ago when I bought a crappy plastic AK47 from Airsplat and my collection's been growing ever since.

painted my m4, first try
Really light tan or white?
Really light tan or white?
light tan my room is just really fucking dark because a light blew out, going to buy some krylon camo tan soon though
My first gun was a DE springer G36c. I loved that gun man. I wish it still worked. But i tried taking it apart and never got it back together right. But now it has a second life as a cosplay prop, at least. Same with my second gun, except my second gun just broke from age. I had that pistol for a while, a KWC M9. Things randomly broke all over it, first the slide pin, which i replaced with a Knex piece(actually worked perfectly) then the part that the slide pin enters into, then after a long time and the general condition wearing down, i welled out the slide with a dremel and super-glued everything together. It is also now a cosplay prop.
Just bought this A&K M249, for about $400. Still gotta test it out, but supposedly, the motor and spring have been upgraded and it's got a lipo battery, so now I gotta drop more money on a balance charger with dean connectors. Anyone know any good cheap balance chargers?

That rail system rocks my socks.
looks dumb
What does it mean to balance a lipo what do you use and how do you do it?
To charge it safely so it won't do some stupid shit. Most LiPo chargers have built in ballancers afaik. One of the plugs from lipo connects to the power thingy itself, the second to the ballancer. It somehow makes it so all cells are charged equally.
That's what I think anyway. I don't even use lipos, lol.

You came to the wrong forum to be looking for cool points with that thing.
My first airsoft gun was a walmart springer, the daisy softair 240. The standard clear and orange pistol EVERYONE gets.

You have no idea how douchey that sounded.
What does it mean to balance a lipo what do you use and how do you do it?
LiPos are composed of multiple cells- a 7.4V is two and an 11.1V is three. Due to minute differences in physical composition, each cell will charge and drain at different rates. This causes a voltage imbalance, which causes overdraw and damages the pack. A balancer is designed to intelligently charge the battery so that every cell ends up at the same voltage, rather than just read the overall pack voltage which is what NiCd and NiMh chargers do.

You know, coming from someone that doesn't hate uber SPECIAL FORCES TIER ONE OPERATOR M4A1 CARBINES, I like it. The snakeskin pattern you painted compared with most other snakeskin I've seen around doesn't look too bad. I also really like VLTOR uppers because that little flat block-ish forward assist's got some nice "character". But just thought I'd point it out why you just so happen to be pissing people of the forum off: It's not at all uncommon for airsofters to use real steel parts, or vice versa.
My dad uses UTG rail covers on his real steel ARs as well as his SCAR. He uses airsoft PTS magpul parts over real steel ones because he found them for cheaper than their real steel counterparts. I've played around with his "real steel" EOtech, Aimpoint, and Spectre sights on my SRC T91. In fact, I talked him into getting a real steel 2x Aimpoint because I'd wanted it on my airsoft guns. And he bought it for use on my T91. He just liked it so much that he decided to keep it for himself.
Also, real-steel parts aren't all THAT much better than airsoft replicas. Funny because the Aimpoint that he runs on his SCAR is a G&P replica. It holds zero just fine.
Also, among other airsoft forums, IFAP is pretty hipster. What IFAPers tend to jizz over aren't really nice tactical-looking two toned or snakeskin ARs, but AKMs and AK-74s with nicely finished wood and bakelite magazines, or some non-mainstream rifles like LR300s, FNCs, Type 89s, etc.
