That weathering is so delicious. how do you weather like that, brah?
Felix is the greatest at weathering.
Like I'd literally ship a new AK to him and pay him to weather it and send it back.
omg really? <3
If I had a gun I wanted weathered.

Lots and lots of layers of paint and steel wool.
You know, I feel like there actually could be some market for weathering, painting, and customizing guns- I've had a few offers to weather AKs like I did mine. Not sure why it hasn't really caught on.
Felix once I get off my ass and turpentine my AK, I'm sending it to you.

I can imagine in 15 years or so we'll start seeing Khyber Pass M4s that look like this.

Oke c:
Lots and lots of layers of paint and steel wool.
So you do a thick layer of silver then a layer of black and scrape the black off?
I did probably 3 or 4 coats of silver then a layer of black. Used 000 grade steel wool to lightly wear it down. Then I did several coats of brown and OD until it looked right and then wore it down again with the steel wool.
Hmm, I thought the greenish color was the lighting. Why OD for weathering? When simulating rust, I usually go with various browns, brown-reds, and muted orange-y tans.
I went OD for ~camouflage~
Really simply because I think painted ARs look really cool when they're worn down.
Oh wait, are you saying you did a coat all over of OD, then weathered it with the brown? That makes more sense, I thought you were saying you used brown and OD as rust colors.

Cool, maybe I'll try this out, sans the brown and green. I like the worn look but i have a plastic receiver and I don't think a metal receiver is really worth it.
No longer functioning but oh well. Still looks neato.

Borked already?
Cocking arms broke, already ordered new ones though.
wow already?
when you disassemble it and shit, you should check for and seal any leaks you may find that they have apparently out of the box
The gun is surprisingly simple to assemble and disassemble. No other issues aside the charging bars.

It's evolving.
Got the shell saddle and now I need the heat shield but it's in the mail.
This was my first AEG actually. It's a CYMA CM028 that I decided to pretty up a bit.

Very nice, only thing I dislike is the splatter of black paint on the wood, not sure what effect you were trying to replicate with it.

Could be anything. I guess the idea I had was grime/oil splatter from trudging around in some kind of stalker-esque wasteland. I was just trying to picture some grotesque post-apocalyptic environment and make the gun resemble that.
"Why'd you splatter black paint all over your gun?"
"Dunno man, looks cool tho."
Winner

A suggestion if I may:
Use this guide and redo the wood. http://www.red-alliance.net/articles/customization/furniture.html
Other than that, looks good.
