The upper of my Cm045 got a light layer of rust on the weathering but that's probably because I dug a 2 foot hole to throw the externals in that I let sit there for 72 hours for ultimate weathering. It's moreso of just a rust color. The lower doesn't seem to want to do the same, so looks odd. But yes; as I've said before the flash hider is a bitch. I spent two hours with a pot of boiling water and a pipe wrench. I eventually got it off and ended up just having to JB weld my Suppressor to it because it wouldn't screw on.
Did you remember that it was most likely threaded CCW, not CW?

My 035A tip was easy as hell to get off. I just cut with wire cutters from the two indents on the side until it all chipped off above the two holes, then took a small rod and a hammer and hammered the rest of the tip off through the lower holes. I make it sound more complicated then it actually is. After your done, it will have two bare spots of metal, just krylon it.

Yeah; I knew it was CCW, but it just eventually stripped from being twisted back and for for 2 hours.

I don't get it, it seems to me like there's a big shelf in quality after a certain price point. once you're full metal and everything fits together well it's all just tuning. the only reason I can see paying $600+ for just an airsoft gun no attachments no accessories is if it's converted from an actual firearm
except he lives in canadaland and he doesn't have much of a choice because the democratic people's republic of canadia have a 9000% markup
to put it in perspective that kac pdw usually goes from $250-$300 in america

Can't keep the tape around the handguard since that's where the battery is stored. Dunno what to do lol. Maybe I'll just paint it.
I didn't like the red factory finish on my Dboy AK furniture so I redid it, there was no grain to it and it seemed like paint to me. The stain didn't take so well though.

When I restained my 74u's wood, it came out so fucking dark that it looked like balls over easy.
But I like yours. It looks like all the stain kind of rubbed off. it's interesting. You can buy real steel handguards if you want different ones, they fit on the dboys.
I applied several coats and I couldn't get it very dark, lol. I was using "Minwax Early American" stain, finished with linseed oil.
use a darker stain (red mahogany or red oak)
Red mahogany is way too dark. Trust me :v:

I quite like the beige color of the wood now, but I wish the black paint didn't contrast with it so much, I'm considering stripping all the paint and respraying it with a lighter shade of grey. I've read that Dboys receivers are painted and blued steel so I'm not sure it will happen.
