that looks like my shitty lumpy paint job. just less shiny.
theres more to a good camouflage paintjob than just color. texture has ALOT to do with it.

Finished staining my AK's wood.

Right is how it looks like now.

Could use a sealant, looks dried out and weird to me. Color and grain is great though.
Looks really nice, at least it looks a bit 'worn-out' instead of something a factory pumped out 5 minutes ago.

Might have to apply some more oil then.

And I'm also thinking of painting the pistol grip brown to look a bit more like a bakelite grip.

Just something to give it a tiny bit of gloss, it looks pretty matte but something just a bit more glossy than satin would be great. If you don't have a clue what I mean, go to the hardware store and stare at the spraypaint lids.

Paint it brown, let it dry, then hit it with wood stain. I dig red oak, worked great for my mags.
Would mahogany red work?
Yeah sure, it's pretty much the same as red oak haha.
Alright. Also, in my AK picture, the after picture was taken in low light condiitons. I should take another picture tomorrow when it's sunny and it might not look as matte.
Yeah, that would help, take a pic in the light.
Will do.

Bapbop. It looks less matte but it's still pretty matte. It's probably going to wear down and become more shiny the more I use it though.

Automerge broke.
It'll get less shiny haha. But yeah, I'd work on getting a little more gloss in it.
Alright I guess I'll have to apply some sealant then. It'll take me a while to get money for it though because I've got no income at the moment and I blew my remaining money on gear. :v:
Do you have any wood polish/cleaner or something? Like Pledge?
What's pledge?
What's pledge?

wood polish/cleaner
Yes but is pledge like a brand of wood polish or is it a kind of wood polish?
I've never varnish/ polish any of the wood on my AKs. Personally it looks better with out it.

Is it just me or does the BE have a bigger stock?
Yes but is pledge like a brand of wood polish or is it a kind of wood polish?
It's a brand.
The BE doesn't have a sling mount anymore so it looks bigger because there isn't anything cluttering it up.
Did you get it fixed yet or no?
