I don't think it was a bad thing.

I just need to stumble across some slim handguards and an oldschool stock + pistol grip then my gun will be perfect. As much as i love my ironsights, i've kind of gone off flat top AR15s. Fixed carry handles make me moist.

yeah that's one thing I've always wondered - how likely is it that optics can break from BB fire? I bet the shitty $10 ones are more susceptible, but do you guys ever use one of those fancy shields or?

I heard that those shields are very flimsy and cause a fuck ton of image distortion. I read somewhere that people just cut out a sheet of lexan and fit it to the front of the sight.
