My uncle and cousin both shoot IPSC here in california. They use 9mm pistols and 1911s with flared magwells, compensators, mini dot sights, 26rd. mags, extended slide release/racking knob etc. They use benelli M2/M3 (whichever the semi auto one is) with an X-Rail attachment and a drop leg panel with speed loaders on them for more shotgun shells. They use thin rigid belts with tiny mag clips and tiny holsters. They use AR-15s with bushmaster style free float fore grip with grip tape on them, every thing is cut away to reduce weight, they have super magnification scopes and offset rail mounts for a dot sight for close targets. They also use VLTOR stocks :dance: For mags in the AR-15s they have Beta mags but they hate them, they have 60 round fatmags as well as magpul P-mags they just bought a box of. I've shot all their competition guns and the weight/kick/accuracy is unparalleled, although they look kind of funny. They don't wear really any gear besides a holster/mag pouch belt and maybe a drop leg panel, but that's about it.

Yes. That's exactly my point. IPSC has nothing whatsoever to do with actually shooting at bad guys who want to shoot you back, and that's why I cringe a bit at the idea of introducing IPSC-style gear to real shooting or even airsoft.

Decided to completely sand down my 1911, however I quickly realised I won't do much without a dremel.
But I'm thinking about leaving the slide like this

Wonder what should I do with the rest of the frame. Partial sanding would make it a bit silly, since it's all a monolythic design. Guess I'd do the controls (trigger, slide catch, hammer, grip safety), but the rest of the frame (mainly the grip as you can see) has also lots of scratches and stuff, which don't exactly look good. Maybe i should sand the shit out of the entire thing and completely re-paint it...
carve out the left hand grip so you can hold a knife with your gun

Will try. Gonna have to grab some black spray paint, glossy one won't matter there, so I'll just get one from the nearby store. Right now I've only got OD Green, Mud Brown and Forest Green paints, which would look kinda retarded with this, lol.
