i think they do, but dont most red dots and scopes used in the military co-witness the front sight post on an m4? just wondering [editline]14th December 2012[/editline]
took some DSLR pictures of my guns lol
<3
The front sight post is indeed visible in the CCO. [editline]14th December 2012[/editline] I had to turn it way up so it was visible on my camera, normally it would be a barely visible dot, so as not to occlude the target. Yes, I have the honeycomb in.

I dont know if the battery box peq is different dimensions than a real one, but I cant see the front sight with it on. just wondering if thats a thing or if its just me.

It doesn't occlude the sight picture at all, but the CCO makes aiming at 50m targets on the leaf sight a pain.

Just gearing up for tomorrows Ord game. Decided to try something different. Yes that is what you think it is, a fucking XM8. Bought the GWS XM8 kit from AEX, staff had fun joking at me about it, all in good fun. Really I got it just to screw around with, another project gun. These kits have been gathering dust at AEX for over 5-6 years, remember seeing them when I started playing. Since no one has really been buying them, they gave me 2 XM8 kits for the already discounted price of 1, which is $100. Got the black and OD versions. Installation is quite intensive and can be frustrating if you don't have the right tools. You need to swap just about every internal component from a G36 into the XM8 kit. The kit itself is made of thin plastic and flexes a lot. Joining two pieces together to close it was a pain. There's a bunch of these tabs on each piece that slide into the other pieces, but it usually requires you to pinch both sides of the body to get them in. Trying to hold these in place while installing body pins was a bitch. Surprisingly though it did fire the first time I loaded it up. Some of you may know I have had nothing but troubles with my G36 in the last 4 years. Tossed the parts in this kit and it feeds smoothly. Hell even my CMAG works in it. Overall it's not nearly as creaky as some people make it out to be, but it sure isn't the best. At least the markings look nice and the hand guard and stock are coated in rubber. The scope is a huge let down. It's nothing more than a hollow tube, with a crosshair painted on the rear plastic lens. My method of aiming tomorrow is going to be to keep both eyes open, put the silhouette of the scope over the general direction I'm aiming for and go full auto. Also the fake battery compartment on the left side fell off during installation. It was glued on, no screws or anything. merry christmas to me
merry christmas to me
That looks suspiciously familiar.

People can rant all they want but fish-guns still great guns.
That looks suspiciously familiar.
Just wait. In merely a few days I shall initiate Operation Roaring Success...muhahahah
Oh my god why does it look like a massive waste of money. Dat seam on the third photo. Showing right into your face. Holy fuck it looks horrible.
so shiny
what are you doing with the other kit
When he gets his second CA G36 up and running it'll be so TaiwanesePrick can also run an XM8 and so we can be the cool niggas with fishguns herpin the derp.
so shiny
The legit XM8 receiver and shell pieces that was sitting in my dad's gun safe courtesy of a longtime friend in the IDF looked almost identical. XM8s aren't very matte guns.
you had an XM8 shell? how did you get it, and what happened to it? and i kind of regret not buying an XM8 when i was choosing between one and my G36. That thing was pretty rad.
you had an XM8 shell? how did you get it, and what happened to it? and i kind of regret not buying an XM8 when i was choosing between one and my G36. That thing was pretty rad.
My dad's buddy was in the IDF, way back when the IDF was looking into a new rifle, they evaluated the XM8 as a candidate and one of them shitted out in Israel and he was told to bring it back/get rid of this piece of shit/etc. So when he gave it to my dad as a joke, the weapon was stripped internally and was nothing but an empty shell. It had a very low serial number too, something like 006 or 008. He held on to it for a while until last year a local PD guy with an H&K USA employee came to retrieve the shell, since it was unaccounted for and was still technically the property of Heckler and Koch. The H&K dude was pretty cool and he thanked my dad for keeping the shell in good condition and not doing anything dumb with it like showing it off to friends and being like "herp derp look it's an XM8" and as a means of thanks gave him a Mk.23 handgun. I'm not sure what happened to the IDF colonel.
"Hey thanks for keeping this piece of plastic nice! Here's a $2500 hand cannon"
"Hey thanks for keeping this piece of plastic nice! Here's a $2500 hand cannon"
it was either that or a USP, which my dad already had. so.
Still fucking cool. Wow.
