I don't think you quite comprehend why people are getting so aggressive with you. It's not that you post offensive things, it's that you keep presenting completely unfounded personal opinion as utter fact. 'KWAs are best', or in this case 'AEX is like the king of rare/cool/hard to get gun stuff', are pretty flat statements that are going to earn you ire when they're opinions not shared by anyone else. Doubly so when you're presenting your opinion as fact in attempting to advise a newbie.

Unsure right now. I may gut my other CA G36 or give it to my friend so he can build one himself. He really seemed to like mine.
Played with it today, but didn't really do a whole lot. Tried out my Boogie Regulator goggles and had nothing but fogging problems all day. Playing near the cost does not help, then add in the rain. Carrying the XM8 was pretty easy, weighs almost nothing so you can quickly sprint around the field with it. Even walked up an angled ladder through a window while keeping the XM8 shouldered with ease. Mags were an issue. In order for them to feed I had to apply a forward pressure to the mags. Going to look into this some more, hopefully it wont be hard to fix. My friend who wants my other XM8 kit has some G36 Pmags he's going to let me try out in it next time. Aiming was a bitch, more than it should have been. Usually I would just spray on full auto and walk my shots on target. Well that didn't fucking work because I was so fogged up I could barely make a person out 20ft in front of me. Hop-up didn't seem to be working either, but that's a known issue with my G36 even before I put it in the kit.
Overall, it's far from perfect. But for a project gun to screw around with and build into something better it isn't too bad. Personally I like it, would have been better if I could actually see what I was doing today.
take the 2 kits and combine the body pieces of both different colors so you get like an OD-black xm8
I know SRC did that whole two tone thing with their XM8s, was never really a fan of it.
Decided to work on the XM8 a bit more tonight. Removed the scope.

Will probably keep the outside lens cover things of the scope, but I'll ditch the stupid tube. Looks like a T1 Aimpoint sits almost at the right height in there if it wasn't for the QD mount I have on mine. Might end up hacking up the scope to make this work.
As for a scope rail option, it's going to be pretty simple. Cut down some pre made rail section I have left over at work, machine some tabs into it so it attaches just like the XM8 scope, and I'm done. It should give me a more convenient way of installing an optic onto it. I may invest in a proper looking scope for it later down the road. Seems like there were various scopes. There's a red dot and a 3.5x scope, but some other sites say 4x. I'd like to think they were interchangeable, but I can't confirm that.
