my friends brother bought a BE XM8 a few years ago and no surprise! it broke after like 40 shots. so now he thinks that airsoft is stupid and all guns are a waste of money that will break in 30 minutes.

Ender is seriously making me regret picking my G36 over the XM8 i was considering. :v: I'll add it to my 'guns i'd like someday' list, maybe for when i have more space to store them in.

If you can find an SRC GEN 3 XM8, impulse buy it. Ender and I've been looking for one online and at local retailers, but couldn't find any (Santa Clara AEX has GEN 2 XM8s, which are basically like JG G36s).

The one i almost bought was an SRC gen 3 :suicide: They stock gen 2 ones at the shop i went to, but the gen 3 one must've only been in stock when i was there.

I need to see if it works with the XM8 though. Battery space is about the same if not larger, but getting that hand guard on is bigger pain in the ass than the G36's. Did a sketch for a rail for the XM8 a couple nights ago. Work was slow so I got on the milling machine and started cutting up the last of my rail stock. After about an hour of work I finished machining the rail. Went home, and attempted to install. I must have made it just a tad oversized, required some help of a mallet to close the upper receiver shell around it. At least there's no wobble what so ever. So now I present you the XM8 DMR. I wonder how one of those tall aimpoints would look on it. Would be neat if you could modify the scope shell to fit something like a T-1 in there for maximum integrated red dot.

My EOTech 552 is too long for it, need a 551 or similar short model. I'll test the rest of my optics later. A T-1 could easily fit inside of the fake scope, but I think it would be much easier just to buy this. I could try tossing a G36 scoped carry handle optic in there.
