I would love to get a TM, but the FPS is ridiculously low, and I play field not CQB.
Throw a Guarder kit in there. HARDLY a reason not to get a TM.

The big reason I'm not getting a TM is that I have no money.
[editline]1st July 2011[/editline]
At all.
The only reason I don't consider TMs is because they're never in stock.
By the time you decided on a gun, they'd probably be back in stock :v:
Fuck this, my gearbox is jammed and I got to send it in for repairs :smith:
Oh well, it still has warranty I guess :unsmith:

Now imagine how it is in Canada. $500+ for Marui. And since I like my guns to be more realistic and be metal where they're supposed to be metal, that's another few hundred dollars for a metal body kit. Might as well be getting ICS or G&G for the same price and have the guns come with metal bodies already.
[editline]1st July 2011[/editline]
Also higher velocity so people feel their hits at long range and you don't waste half a mag trying to make someone far away feel your 280 FPS.

Aha, it's been 3 years and they're still out of stock.
You usually have to order TM guns from overseas since there's not much demand for them here in the states.
Also I've made a final decision, my M14 is going. I'm probably going to end up buying the RK-03 or 02 to get it sooner.

Update on the M14
I just ripped the fucking front sling part off, like I gave it a tug to see how strong it was and it went flying across the room. I looked at the sling, hoping I just broke the sling but the sling that came with my alice set is sturdy like rock so the shitty pot metal sling mount snapped right off.
fuck
Who's your M14 made by? That sounds pretty terrible if it just snapped from being tugged unless you absolutely heaved on it.
It's a CYMA one. To be fair, it's almost a year old but jesus christ I'm not super strong and I've ran with the thing slung on my back before. Ugh. You have the same M14 right? How is yours holding up, maybe I'm just a poor owner.
If yours is the SOCOM one then it's the same as mine. I've had mine since christmas and the only kind of issues i've had with it is the wiring in the stock near the fuse frayed slightly and the bolt catch fell out since the pin holding it in was really badly designed and fell out if you put pressure on the bolt catch, letting the whole thing fall out. I lost that then managed to find it and reassemble it, then it fell out again, so i can't rack the bolt back without poking the bolt cover so it doesn't get jammed in the hole.
The metal doesn't look that great quality but it's been holding up fine so far.
What does yours actually look like, anyway? Is it the one with blue tape all over it i've seen posted before, or was that someone else's m14?
Mine is the fake wood socom. I've got a scope mount jury rigged on there and a 4x scope along with a HL2 decal on the stock. I'll go grab a pic in a sec.

You need a more beat up weapon to put a lambada on. Still looks cool though.
Believe me, there's no bolt cover, I bent the front sight back into place with pliers and there's a metal spear hanging off the side that you can kinda see in that pic.
I mean like, a real wood stock that's abused to shit, weathering on the metal, and a non-perfect looking lambada.
I wish that was a real wood stock...but yeah I get what you're saying, that'd be beautiful.
Actually, the M14 heatshield like this:

Would look pretty badass too.
What's with the zip-ties on the trigger guard?
They look kind of nice for some reason.
also brb i need to find a decent camera so i can take an actually good photo of my m14

I know that's for a shotgun, but does anyone actually make M14 heatshields like that, or would you have to make it by hand?

In the US they usually make you put colored zip ties on your guns to show that they passed the chrono.
The only site i went to that gave you things to show your guns had passed chronos was one that gave you stickers.
And they were the most unfitting stickers in the world, my brother has a bunch of glittery hearts and teddy bears on the side of some of his guns since that's all they had.
for some reason my camera was being shitty so these aren't the best pictures but here is my gun again

and me with my lovely gun (my mom took this photo about a thousand times with me showing her how to hold the camera and it still looks like shit but oh well)

If someone tried to put a sticker on the side of my gun, I'd kick them in the dick.

The small one was for the chrono at my field and the big one was a peace tie for the anime ocnvention that I met Max Brooks at.

How hard was it to make the wooden stock?
I bought it from the same website i got the gun from, it's about 120 dollars without shipping, not even sure if they ship to the US, but you can try.
http://www.actionhobbies.co.uk/M14-Real-Hardwood-Stock_AN8DM.aspx
The wood is kind of thin in places but it's relatively solid overall.
The stock there is the black one it came with painted up since black was boring, the wood one is currently in my cupboard untill the next game i go to because a bright white gun is gonna be shit in a forest :v:
Damn. If I wasn't about to sell this gun, I'd totally get that.
I recommend you get the G&P steel upper replacement for your gun, gives you the trades and a better bolt catch and stronger materials over all so you can play with the bolt and not worry about it fucking up :buddy:
Where would you get that from, and how much is it?
If it has the stampings on the rear upper of the reciever then i'm buying that so hard.
Also i need an opinion, black, brown, or tan sling?
That wood M14 is damned sexy, makes me want to go back to deciding between the KWA, AKS-74 or the CYMA M14.
BUT NO, I SHALL PREVAIL AND GET THE G36C!
http://www.uncompany.com/pageproduct.asp?L3catid=83
And yeah it has the stampings.
[editline]1st July 2011[/editline]
Also brown leather sling.
