Have deathmog and kath make the rail for you :downs:
Ender is the machining wizard
with what equipment
we bow down to ender
i thought u have like a company or something
eridani technologies
Theoretically I could make this on a manual milling machine, but it would take a lot of time and a lot of bullshitting on the oddly angled sections. I'd rather program it for a CNC, I just don't have a workstation for myself at work and access to a machine to cut it. It looks like I would need to run 3-4 Operations on it, meaning I'd have to flip the part 3-4 times to machine all the features. Even then now that I think about it I think I'd have to make some custom fixtures that could hold it on it's side.

Yeah, but Ender is YEARS ahead of us in knowledge of machining.
If you could make the CQB barrel and handguard
then
mmmmmmmmm
CQB Barrel is easy, just don't screw a barrel onto the gas block and put a flash hider on it.
CQB handguard is a bit tougher. I saw someone who made their own by just cutting through the existing handguard to make it shorter. Was pretty crude but it works. Personally I like the carbine and long version handguards.
Give me the file and I'll print it out as a project in drafting 2. So you get your rail and I get credit for turning something in. Win-win :v:
Problem is it's 12.5 inches long. The Dimension printer in your class only handles 8"x8". If I can make a 2 part version I'll let you know.

Why doesn't my school get any cool classes
Ender, could you use you wizard magic and make the sliding stock for the XM8?
I could draw it, but there's no way I could afford it unless I made it really thin and 3D printed it.

now this is something we can print in parts

Just metal arms with notches cut for locking, and then printed butt and end cap with locking mech?
Might not make it as sturdy as it'd be made of one solid piece, but if you took something like the top rail off a G36, cut it down to length and modified it a little, then had the mounting blocks machined out of metal or polymer you could probably save a heap of money that way.
Going to repost my gun porn photos, because it has been more than a year, and I am getting out of airsoft soon.

I'm gonna miss them, but I just don't play enough to justify having them when I need money for other stuff.
I would like a moment of silence for our fellow airsofter who is leaving the sport.
I personally think that the Ak-47 is a terrible gun.
This is why: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G6BpI3xD6h0
The AK47 (Made in 1947) due to the large amount of medium to short-range fighting Klashnikov (Last name of its deisgner and creator, forgot first name) designed the AK47, while being inacurate with full auto at long ranges, its accuracy in short ranges and it's 7.62MM ammunition was deadly, almost able to ripe body parts i.e, hands and even arms.
While as the M16, use the much smaller 5.62, and was better suited to medium to longer ranges, although in short ranges was innefective due to its length, the M16 A1 was also prone to constant jamming, which lead to the A2, A3, and A4 variants. While as the AK47 was a very reliable and strong weapon, you could run it over with a tank and it won't even bend.
There was also one story of a Vietamanese NVA soldier leaving his AK in a dirty river for 6 months in order to hide it, after he re-found it. It still worked perfectly, with only minimal rusting.

Still, your information is already twisted and I just no.

It costs 400,000 dollars to fire this weapon for 12 seconds!
But yeah, it's VERY exspensive to buy, and even more to get all the BB's for it.
Aren't they also notoriously shit for breaking easily and just generally being terrible since you can only fire in short bursts and have to leave a several second delay between firing?
That's all i've heard about the Echo 1 minigun.
The first one in your post looks home made judging from the rust and ghetto wiring, so i get the feeling not all 3 pictures are yours or of the same gun.
