Durr hurr thanks smartass
You can't get a proper cheek weld that way.
Yeah, but nobody gets a proper cheekweld with ak stocks and optics.
Where did you get the 1P29 and for how much?
I actually got it for a really good deal off of Red Alliance for $550, I've seen them go for $700-$1000. I've been hunting for one of these for awhile now.

Cheek weld is a myth created by drill instructors just to give them something else to yell at their recruits about. I was getting dime sized groups at 100 yards, next time I take it out I'll try at a longer distance.
I still can't get into RedALliance. :(

You can with the ultimak rail. It sits in between the rear and front sights, replacing the top handguard. Obviously with it so far forward, you can only mount red dots, nothing with magnification
Or you can use a low profile side mount

I think you can get acceptable groups with a short distance like that, but at longer distances accuracy is all about consistency. Otherwise, you're just adding unnecessary error that you have to account for each time.
even with an ultimak the soviet ak stocks are a bit low for a really good cheekweld.

inb4 "hurr rails on an ak"
Notice how the red dot sits perfectly in line with the normal sight picture.

I got Frankengun today, costed me $35 bucks, got a hicap and a battery with it.
Shoots great.
[editline]25th July 2011[/editline]
I got a black hicap, the mag pictured is my brother's RPK mag.
you should take the tape off the handguard and replace it with a strip of blue tape
I plan to take it off and JB weld it there because the top part slips off, so I might put a heatshield there or something, and I want to put a fake wood finish on the stock.

y/n to said changes to it?

holy shit where's your selector switch?
It's missing :v:
It's easy as SHIT to tap the trigger for semi auto, I was doing it all day.
I might make a ghetto rig for it anyway, it doesn't matter to me.
Oh well good thing it wasn't set to safe when it went missing :v:
You could easily make a makeshift selector switch, although it could be difficult to make one that is removable so you can access the internals.
You might as well just make that AK into a Paki Custom at this point and just have a clusterfuck of parts from random AK variants. Like an AIMS handguard, AK-74 skeletal stock, AKM mags, something to that effect.
Very off topic here but I just went shooting Thursday and shot a Mk-16/ SCAR-L, FN FAL .308, and a H&K .45 sub machine gun. It was fun shooting a golf ball at 100 yards away with the MK-16. It had a EOtech red holo mounted, and a 3x magnifier.
Oh wow your so lucky! I really want to shoot a FAL. I shot a Springfield Socom 16 the other day though and it was sooo cool.

Oh wow you guys are so lucky! I own an automatic AKM, a Mosin Nagant, a Mauser from the late 1800s, and a Saiga 20k and their sooo cool.
Not sure if sarcasm, or FPKawaii

Yep. You own them.
Yep. You own them.
Yes I do.
EDIT: Well, the AKM isn't mine, but It's at my ~place of residence~.

The G&G F2000 is so tempting. But the fact that I can't make a proper loadout with it other than generic looking special forces because Slovenian gear is impossible to buy really helps control my need for it.
It is indeed the G&G and it fits so nicely into my hands that I've hardly put it down since I picked it up.
As far as loadouts go, you could get away with making a Bad Company 2 loadout.
