Yeah, you kind of went overboard yo
Would look good if it was in smaller quantities
Way overdone and super fake looking on both sides
Key word was practice, I'm not going to leave it like that, I'm repainting it all black and starting over, using a lot less paint and being more tasteful.
You could try sanding over the paint to give it a more faded look

I did, it looks like shit. I'm just repainting it and it'll be fine.
Don't sand it- buff it. If it's acrylic paint, suitably thinned, it should rub off fairly easily. Get a damp cloth or paper towel and scrub at the tan, it'll come off on the raised areas but stay in the recesses and crevices. A very thin coat of tan paint followed by buffing is how I got this:

Those look more dusty than muddy. I want the AK to look like it's been beaten to hell and back and then thrown into a swamp for good measure, and while it is a cool technique, it's not really what I'm going for. Thanks for the tip though, I'll probably end up using that one some of the guns that are meant to look less decrepit.
EDIT:
And it's spraypaint, which I don't believe is the same thing as acrylic.
Use a darker brown paint then. And cake it on there
you can always throw it at walls and smear it in dirt...
anyways I never fully understood weathering; I find the best kind of weathering is actually using your gun in games because contrary to weathering guidelines, you get scratches and nicks on weird parts of your guns along with uneven weathering and some dirt and dust

Uh...this is a $60 LPEG AK that is made almost entirely out of plastic. I wouldn't drop it a foot let alone throw it, and god forbid I'd ever use it in a game. It's a movie prop not a tack driver, and plastic does not age well, unless giving your gun a glistening greasy sheen is something you're into.

Mud dries very light, so while if it was wet darker paint would match, but dried mud is not darker. http://img-fotki.yandex.ru/get/4009/wait4me90.1/0_1d58a_61505e9a_XL.jpg

I got some pretty good scratches on my TM
dropped it and got some cracks and had to duct tape my stock at one point
looked like a true wasteland gun until I replaced the damaged parts on it

I don't think you understand the gravity of my situation. This is a Cybergun. A Cybergun LPEG. If you drop it, it explodes and destroys your house and kills your entire family.

no
I just polished my bolt:

Come to think of it, that actually sounds quite inappropriate.
Yeah I read that before the image loaded and it sounded all kinds of wrong
Come to think of it, that actually sounds quite inappropriate.
Now that you mention it, it actually does :v:
"I'll rack my bolt and load some rounds into your chamber."
I thought that was your ass, I was going to ask why is Postal holding your gun
Why would I use my ass for holding the gun anyways :v:
I bought a mildly broken gun from my brother, i think it's SEXY and it was dirt cheap so i had to because i have a raging boner for revolvers

Is that...Tanaka? Marushin? Japanakarushin?
UHC? It's p. damn classy
Get it? Raging Boner, Raging Bull? HOHOHOHO
Marushin, it says "Smith & Wesson 44 Magnum" on one side and "629 classic" on the other, it's pretty old since my brother's aparrently had it since i was about 13
All thats wrong with it is that the hammer spring is broken or something, so the hammer only goes halfway back before going forward if you pull the trigger, so it doesn't let much gas out, meaning the shots are weak (or so i've been told, haven't actually tried firing it yet), he tells me that if i just rack the hammer back all the way with my thumb before firing it should work fine.
Looks awesome!

"I know what you’re thinking: 'Did he fire six shots, or only five?' Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement, I’ve kinda lost track myself. But being this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you’ve got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel lucky?' Well, do ya, punk?"

If i get the chance i'll do this next game day, if this thing works.
and reloading is not an issue if it's a sidearm but if i just take this out and leave my m14 at the safe zone it'll be a lot of fun
