So after about 2 hours of parts not fitting, frustration, dremmeling, more frustration, cursing, a puncture wound to the hand, more cursing, some blood, more dremmeling, and manually cycling the slide about 500 times, I think I can call this project complete

Weird vignette effects in the pictures but the gun is nice. Normally I don't like two toned guns but that works well

The vignette is only because I was using a photo tent that's a little too small for the gun and you could see the edges in the picture, which didn't look very good.

Have you replaced your orange tip? I don't know what to put on it when I get the stupid thing off. All the ICS Sig 551 Flash hiders I've found have been like 6 inches long and extend into the gun.

I tried polished controls, but it was a little to much, so I painted them black again
what about just a silver trigger
it seems kind of unbalanced right now cause the slide is so bright and shiny
but the entire frame
and all the controls
are black

Felix, how much altogether did you spend on your 1911? I'm looking build Snake's custom from MGS3 and your build looks like a good start.
Um I'd say probably in the neighborhood of $350-$400
Base gun-$185
Upgrades- ~$180 (Slide was $105)
I started with a WA 1911 though, which is more expensive. And the upgrades are more expensive and much rarer.
TM will be much less expensive with the base gun costing $170 and a full metal kit being $120-$140 and internal upgrades are much more plentiful and a little cheaper
I'm probably gonna be heading the TM route then. This isn't gonna be a project til like November or December depending on how school goes and how much I'm making from the pro-shop.

Maybe a WE MEU would work as a good cheap base plus it'd give me some of the parts I need. But I'd have to find the version with no rail.

Nope not doing it until I get another flash hider because when I did it with my G&G I burnt off the flash hider so it spent time without a flash hider at all.

Sure. AEGs from JG (and Chinese manufacturers in general) all tend to have tons of tiny quality-control and construction problems that only get worse over time. But the chance of a JG gun breaking down on you is rather low. My JG M16's stock internals appeared to be made out of rust and slime, but it was assembled professionally for the most part.
If you have the extra $20 or so and want a warranty on your gun, just buy it through Echo 1.

Nerf hatchet would be mine, every child at the field bought that annoying rubber knife so I got this to throw at them, actually managed to get three people out with it one day which was pretty fun I must say.
