An hour wouldn't tell you you've screwed up at all if you're not online for it.
Hour bans make nice warnings, but unless the user is on right then they're meaningless.

We aren't online all the time, so when a mod actually is able to moderate the user could be long gone, and an hour ban would be useless since they might not return for a few hours.

If I see a user is online and the thing isn't that bad I give them an hour, if they're not online, they're out of luck and get a day.

That was just one of them. He somehow kept making mistakes even though he had been a moderator for longer than three months.

The moderators had been getting a bit uppity in the mod forum, bitching at each other. I told them to man up and shut up otherwise I'd demod them. I said that twice. Plus the fact that he kept making mistakes.

To expand on this we've been wanting delayed bans that start when the user next logs in since like 2006, but it's been too much bother for garry to code. If he had delayed bans we could easily ban people for an hour all the time for making threads in the wrong section. As it stands at the moment it's pure luck whether or not you're on at the same time. Best thing to do if you've been banned for the wrong section is to make a thread in the RC apologising and you'll be unbanned if a super mod sees your thread.
Id say the moderators get on with what they have got to do, they should really clamp down on the trolls and idiot that fill FP with tons of bullshit everyday to grow their epenis.
Also, i know several people who have got permabanned, made a alt, and nothing gets done about them, and they start the whole process of trolling over again.

Uhm that's quite some time ago, but i THINK!!!! that he asked for it, and he didn't do alot of modding either.

I remember when the custom forums were first created and we had the color forums which broke down into civil war until they were closed.

i find it funny how all the fast threaders are glad vent's not mod. all the fast threaders just make stupid posts, spam posts and say dumb memes all the time, no wonder they got banned all the time.
