DD feels more like a crime drama than a superhero series.
I love it.
So I just finished Daredevil.
The suit looks great, even though it doesn't have the D's (and even though [sp]it only shows up at the end of the last episode[/sp]). I like how it actually feels like a natural progression for his character to end up dressing like that, since [sp]he realizes that he DOES need some armor and he gets the reputation as "The Devil of Hell's Kitchen"[/sp]. It's not like he just up and decides to put little horns on his super suit and exchange black for red.
I'm kinda torn on D'Onofrio's Kingpin. I feel like he didn't sound nearly as confident or powerful as he should have; like, the first few episodes, they build him up as this terrifying, powerful presence. And then, yeah, he can kick some serious ass, but it never feels like he's in control. It feels like this was Kingpin's origin story as much as it was Daredevil's, and I don't particularly care for that.
That said, he had some great moments, like [sp]his Good Samaritan speech at the end and the staring at the wall thing[/sp].
Honestly, [sp]The Owl turned out to be the best villain and it really sucks that he's dead.[/sp]
I was also a little bummed that there was no mention of [sp]Shadowland, The Hand, The Punisher, The Daily Bugle[/sp] or any of the other stuff that they easily could have fit in there. That said, the references they did drop were pretty great ([sp]I especially liked the cameo from Roxxon and how Urich's framed headlines had to do with the Chituari Invasion and Hulk smashing Harlem[/sp]).
All in all, I thought it was a pretty good series, but I feel like it was all just a preamble; like things are really gonna get moving in Season 2.
I was also a little disappointed at the lack of [sp]post-credits scene and Stan Lee, as well as Avengers Tower not appearing in the skyline once[/sp], but regardless, it was a good time.

Oh, and to anyone who's finished the episode with Stick: [sp]who was that guy he was talking to at the end? And what was the deal with that little kid in the shipping container? Was he an Inhuman or something?[/sp]
Also, Battlin' Jack Murdock is tied with Foggy for best character on the show.
[sp]http://www.hypable.com/daredevil-stan-lee-cameo/[/sp]
also in DD episode 3, [sp]the scene where you first meet ben ulrich, who is he talking to? i can't seem to find him on IMDB or anything.[/sp]
im trying to figure out why daredevil has such a huge tone change compared to the rest of the marvel stuff
its so weird but i really like it
im also trying to figure out how they are going to manage to fit a show like this into the mcu

The tone shift is because of the scale shift.
Instead of a global or at least regional threat, its a street level, reality-based threat.

[sp]"real" at least until The Hand shows up in season 2.[/sp]
Me and my boss have this little game going, where we try to out-cosplay each other. Came in to work like this tonight. At the end of the night i took my dress shirt and glasses off and the kitchen cleanup in the black mask.

I should mention that he's a very emphatic daredevil fan. I dont think he went twenty minutes not talking about daredevil on Friday.
In DD, [sp]what's the button Kingpin keeps rubbing his finger on?[/sp]

It's [sp]his father's cuff links.[/sp]
Just watch through the episodes, it's not exactly subtle.
Screenrant posted an article about the potential of Tony Stark appearing in the Spider-man movie.
http://screenrant.com/spider-man-marvel-cinematic-universe-origin-story/
RDJ always wants to do something new with Iron Man, playing off a young sarcastic peter parker would be a great change.
They even brought up the possibility of him giving Parker the Iron Spider costume. Which would actually be pretty cool to see on the big screen.
Also I hope we finally get a Carnage movie. They could set up different types of symbiotes and their capabilities without actually having them be a villain in the same movie.
is it me or [sp]is the gym that daredevil goes to the same one that cpt rogers was training at in avengers?[/sp]
is it me or [sp]is the gym that daredevil goes to the same one that cpt rogers was training at in avengers?[/sp]
I doubt Steven Rogers goes to a small time gym in Hell's Kitchen to work out.

It wouldn't surprise me though.
Seems like the kinda thing he'd do; remember, Cap is just a kid from Brooklyn. No idea if that's anywhere near Hell's Kitchen, but still.

Is that important? I don't know much about DD or his villains.

Keep watching. [sp]the show literally gives you an entire episode origin story for them.[/sp]

dunno if cap stayed in brooklyn at the time, but hell's kitchen is in manhattan on the west side.
I had more fun watching Daredevil then Arrow

Alright. I'm about halfway through the season.
Anyone recommend a good Daredevil comic to buy? I'm getting more interested in the character now.
Just started with ep 2 of Daredevil.
I love the sense of scale the MCU has now, and it's going to get even bigger :D
The red costume looks much better in action than in the promo photo.
That was really good. I might say that's the highlight of the MCU for me so far.

Thank you!
Now all my Captain America comics won't get lonely.

I'd like to add Daredevil: Yellow to that list. Mainly because it was the first DD comic I read. The other reasons being related to certain characters that are in the show. BTW I need to finish watching DD now so I'ma do that.
Honestly Daredevil is now my favourite in the MCU, going to be hard to beat it
Interupting all the Daredevil talk, Kevin Fiege has been talking about Spider-Man:
"In Spider-Man’s very specific case, where there have been two retellings of that origin in the last whatever it’s been – [thirteen] years – for us we are going to take it for granted that people know that, and the specifics. It will not be an origin story.
But, with great power comes great responsibility. It is inherent to who his character is. But we want to reveal it in different ways and spend much more time focusing on this young high school kid in the MCU dealing with his powers. There is a young kid [already] running around New York City in a homemade version of the Spider-Man costume in the MCU, you just don’t know it yet.
We’ve already designed the costume, which is different than any of the ones that have come before. And yet ours is classic Spidey, as I think you’ll see."
Please let this mean Romita eyes and armpit webs.
That'd be amazing.
I'm curious as to whether or not that means the mentioned outfit will be a "temporary" outfit in favor of the opportunity to put the Iron Spider suit out on screen for Civil War and then back to it or another "new" costume for the movie in 2017.
I'm curious to see if they nerfed Vision and SW too much in the movie

also i just finished ep4, and watching ep5 of daredevil all i can say is wow so far
I'm curious to see if they nerfed Vision and SW too much in the movie
Well they are both "new" so they can just use that for not being as powerful as they can be. Still learning about their abilities/just knowing the basics.
I like the floating cabinet with spare parts; what a neat idea.
I had more fun watching Daredevil then Arrow
The human interactions feel so much better and real than in Arrow. I actually kind of enjoy watching the romance sub-plot between [sp]Daredevil's friend and the girl they employ in the first episode (not good with names, sorry)[/sp]. This has never (barely?) happened before in any show or movie!
