Dunno if it's been posted already, but Daniel Bruhl is confirmed to be playing Baron Zemo in Civil War. finished daredevil fucking awesome
So Daredevil is part of the MCU? I haven't finished, going to be soon, got 3 more episodes to go.
Why don't you guys post Daredevil stuff in the Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D thread as it's for TV series?
So Daredevil is part of the MCU? I haven't finished, going to be soon, got 3 more episodes to go.
They referred to the events of Avengers 1 in the first episode so I'm pretty certain it is
Why don't you guys post Daredevil stuff in the Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D thread as it's for TV series?
the two shows have nothing to do with each other, and the agents of shield thread exists because there's new discussion to be had every week when a new episode comes out
the two shows have nothing to do with each other, and the agents of shield thread exists because there's new discussion to be had every week when a new episode comes out
I'm not saying they do, but that's more the Marvel TV show thread and this is more the movie thread.
It shouldn't matter. The MCU consists everything from the movies to the comics. Plus there'll be less threads to follow
It shouldn't matter. The MCU consists everything from the movies to the comics. Plus there'll be less threads to follow
And Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D thread is barely alive anyways [sp]thanks garry![/sp] Edit: So, what's up with the whole [sp]Avengers Academy, will it be the fabled AoS spin off or just recurring element in MCU?[/sp]
Edit: So, what's up with the whole [sp]Avengers Academy, will it be the fabled AoS spin off or just recurring element in MCU?[/sp]
Hopefully the former. [sp]Actually considering the spinoff will involve Hunter and Mockingbird... yeah. I think that spinoff will be Avengers Academy, and AoS will focus on Inhumans.[/sp]
Why don't you guys post Daredevil stuff in the Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D thread as it's for TV series?
Honestly I don't know why AoS isn't in this thread. Should be a the MCU thread to cover all Marvel screen projects, whether it's big or small screen.
Watched the first episode of daredevil, I liked it. Still like AoS more, but it's hard to compare 2 seasons to 1 episode, so we'll see.

How did Strucker get Loki's scepter?
How did Strucker get Loki's scepter?
Probably through HYDRA's snaking into SHIELD
Watched the first episode of daredevil, I liked it. Still like AoS more, but it's hard to compare 2 seasons to 1 episode, so we'll see.
I have yet to watch AoS, but I just finished Daredevil and it was surprisingly awesome. Keep watching, it gets way better.
Just gotten past the filler Episode of Daredevil, Sticks. Why has street level crime suddenly got to involve meditative soldiers in spiritual wars against...japanese aliens or something? Not too clued up on Daredevil specifically, but it's a bit of a shift.
yeah that episode came a bit weird as they were slowly building up to the more zany stuff [sp]like madame gao[/sp] in the later episodes
Like, I knew she was obviously a [sp]kung fu master who would wipe the floor with all of Hells Kitchen if she only harnessed her Chi and...blind sweatshop workers. Or something. But they seem to be alluding to Aliens?[/sp]
Like, I knew she was obviously a [sp]kung fu master who would wipe the floor with all of Hells Kitchen if she only harnessed her Chi and...blind sweatshop workers. Or something. But they seem to be alluding to Aliens?[/sp]
[sp]Forces from other dimension, actually. And Japanese are from Hand which is ninja clan/demonic cult[/sp] Comic books everyone
And Madam Gao [sp]is probably Crane Mother from Iron Fist[/sp]
[sp]demonic cult[/sp] Comic books everyone
Does this mean we could possibly see [sp]Mephistopheles[/sp] in the MCU in the future? That would be interesting to see if they can manage it right.
Does this mean we could possibly see [sp]Mephistopheles[/sp] in the MCU in the future? That would be interesting to see if they can manage it right.
Well, they could swap [sp]The Beast with Mephisto to streamline it a bit, they have rights for Ghost Rider back, after all[/sp]
Agents of SHIELD and Avengers 2 opening sequence Spoilers [sp]So Coulson is the reason the Avengers know about Strucker's base at the beginning of the movie. He stole the info from a Hydra base[/sp]
Tonight's episode of Agents of Shield leads into what happens at the beginning of AoU.

Another stupid rumor? http://www.vigilantist.com/?p=148
So yesterday evening I went to the cinema and saw The Avengers: Age of Ultron I've already had my fair rant about the movie in the Rate The Last Move You Saw thread:
The Avengers: Age of Ultron 6/10 After seeing the movie yesterday here are the two things that immediately came to my mind First, Ultron is a fucking joke. Now, you can consider me biased on this because he was pretty much one of the few things I was excited for in this movie, but let's be honest here: he's the namesake of the title, gets a lot of screentime and drives the whole plot by himself, so there's a character you don't want to mess up Simply put, Ultron is not Ultron. I knew from the very beginning that Marvel-Disney couldn't put in the movie the creepy monotone, homicidial maniac, bloodthirsty Ultron from the comics, but this isn't an excuse to came up with a character being Ultron in name only Everything about Ultron in this movie is cringeworthy. To point out some of the things that angered me the most: - While Ultron was advertised as an AI who constantly adapts his body as he evolves, in the movie proper he gets a scrapped body first and then he immediately gets his prime version. And he stays that way till the end of the story - Those fucking one-liners. The writers of these film must get throught their fucking head that no every character from the Marvel Universe can say funny one-liners. The issue here is that the few genuinely serious lines from Ultron are usually immediately ruined by a following joke. In particular, his famous "I have no strings" speech is creepy the first time you hear it, but becomes cheesy the third or fourth time it's brought up - I understand that the writers tried to picture Ultron aas a deeply flawled and scared newborn AI who can't cope with the task he has been given, but in the movie proper he just comes off as a bipolar clown/comedian who gets twarted by the Avengers every step of the way. It doesn't help that in the final fight [sp]Ultron doesn't go in a duel with the whole team, but only against the Vision, the only character that can harm him easily[/sp] - A big deal was made in the promotional material about the Ultron-Stark relationship (as to say, the creation who rebelled against his creator, whom he wants to murder and doesn't like being compared to). That isn't fleshed out at all in the movie And the list could go on Second, and I don't really know how to describe this one, Avengers: Age of Ultron felt very ... uneventful to me. If you saw the first Avengers with other people and decide to talk about it, everyone will surely point out several scenes they remember fondly (Loki's attack in Germany,[/sp] agent Culson (?) death, Loki being smashed around by Hulk[/sp], the Chitauri attack ...) In this movie, instead, I can't point out a single scene that amazed me or I found memorable in some capacity. The story just goes on without many highlights whatsoever. I won't call the film boring per se, but it definitely didn't catch my interest at any point (this could be due to bad pacing, but I really don't know) You can't fathom how disappointed I was Oh yes, another thing: USING ONE-LINERS AD NAUSEAM DISMINISHES THEIR VALUE AS COMEDY
Another thing that annoyed me is how this film was portraied as a darker and edgier entry in the Avengers franchise, and yet the only genuinely depressing and tense sequences are the Scarlet Witch induced illusions on the team. The rest of the film however keeps a fairly light-hearted tone, due, again, to Ultron not appearing as the menacing and disturbing villain is supposed to be (a problem I had with Iron Man 3 and Thor 2: The Dark World too, with the latter being the MAJOR offender here) Generally, there are two trends in nowadays MCU that really bother me: - Popular or interesting comic book characters being featured in a single movie just to be killed off. Seriously, Loki is the only high profile Marvel films villain being still alive and planned to appear in future movies. Malekith and Ultron won't fare as well as that - The tendency of the writers to insert comedy everywhere. Now, I don't mind the mix between tension and humor, but everything has a measure, and the writers of these movies can't do their job right. On top of them relaying EXCLUSIVELY on wisecrak and one-liners (which become IRRITATING if several of them are thrown at the audience in the span of few minutes), they tend to insert comedy where frankly it doesn't belong (to return to Age of Ultron, apparently [sp]a floating city full of civilians with their lifes at risk and said city most likely due to crash back on Earth and cause the extinction of the human race[/sp] don't stop the character from making jokes or pull off totally out of place antics (Black Widow and Hawkeye start randomly talking about how to do some work on the latter's house, for crying out loud) On the brighter side of things, I did enjoy a couple of jokes and visual gags (every time Mjolnir is featured there is a chance of a good laugh) and I liked the inclusion of Scarlet Witch. My friends also talked shit about [sp]the new Avengers team[/sp], but I'm a bit more optimistic
AOU spoilers [sp]You say you're optimistic about the B-team. What's there to look forward to? Besides Scarlett Witch they scream action filler or people to die in place of the real Avengers. Just there for some added chaos.[/sp]

[sp]I really like the new Avengers. I want to see more of Scarlet Witch, Falcon and Vision.[/sp]
