You mean one season and a half of training sessions, right? Just because they don't show it doesn't mean it didn't happen.
I did a 12 hour lead up to The Hobbit, it wasn't that bad.
They can just sleep through the Thor movies and should be fine :v:
i did a 12 hour marathon to the first avengers
24 hours is a bit too much for me so i am doing the xtra-lite version this time and doing a avengers marathon (Avengers 1 & 2 in imax 3d)

We don't see every single thing that happens. Skye has been in training since the day SHIELD brought her in, which is months and months.
Also the rest are just Hydra lackeys that were suppose to point and shoot.
AoS is definitely going to survive.
I haven't seen Thor 2 yet. Is is worth watching in order to understand Avengers 2?
nope, pretty much a one-shot. although in the long run it might have ties to infinity war.
god help those poor souls trapped in theater seats for 24 hrs
I'd say god help the poor bastards who have to sit on those seats afterwards

there's been tons of character development for skye coming into shield from season one on.
That was kind of a cringe-worthy action scene
That word has lost its meaning these days. But in any case, it's a pretty cool scene
Let's face it: Loki is the only MCU antagonist surviving his introduction move this far
Personally, given my friends told me that the Infinite Gauntlet can also bring back people from death, I'd love to see Thanos using it to recover all the major Marvel villains shown in the moves this far for an ultimate showdown against both the Avengers and the Guardians
But I don't know if that idea is more cheesy than anything
But yeah, It could be pretty cool if some villains that were introduced in previous movies teamed up to try to beat the Avengers.

Except these are Lizts' personal staff, and we see exactly when she started training to roll around like the Iron Monkey and isn't the first season. Bad writing is bad writing no matter how much you ignore simply because you like the premise. A certain Kree manhandled her like a chew toy and she had literally no defense, a couple weeks later she's the leader of the Hand.
Sorry, that's just shit continuity.

I'm sorry but do we actually know how long passed in universe? Because I dont recall them explicitly stating that those two events happened only weeks apart
I haven't seen Thor 2 yet. Is is worth watching in order to understand Avengers 2?
I think Dawson Creek and Twilight are cheaper
Red Skull, Abomination and Winter Soldier didn't die
Red Skull probably won't be back considering Hugo Weaving said he didn't want to play the character again.
I finally got around to watching the first Captain America yesterday. It was ok.
CA was the weakest Phase 1 imo.
I like the fantasy shadings of the Thor series. But Phase 2 was so strong that Thor 2 ended up being the weakest of the batch. It was better than Thor 1, Captain America 1 and Iron Man 2 though.
So goddamn excited for tomorrow night, but... I'm worried. I have been for a while.
I LOVED Silvestri's score to Avengers 1, one of the best "themes" to feature in movies in a long while. Pacific Rim's soundtrack kicked ass too, but the fanfare of Avengers was just PERFECT.
... And with Brian Tyler doing the score in this... *Sigh*
Look, Tyler's good at his job. Guy made a decent soundtrack when he was scoring for Dragonball fucking Evolution... but save MAYBE for Captain America, damn near every Marvel movie that had a half-memorable score got it replaced in the sequel. Like how we never got even a CALLBACK to "Driving With The Top Down" from Iron Man 1 in later films.
I'm TERRIFIED that I'll walk into that theater, watch AoU, LOVE it, but have the nagging wonder of "when will the theme music kick-in?" throughout the whole movie, listening for even a whisper of the chanting violins that start it off... and then find myself saddened and angry as I realize it's never coming. And that will taint what SHOULD otherwise be THE movie event of the year if not for Star Wars.
Because I HATE how no fucking movie series bothers having THEMES anymore. Music has just become this thing to fill the silence in movies, rather than being an integral part of a film's identity. Hollywood has all but forgotten what Maestro Williams taught: that with the right music, a tiny cue of a melody against a black screen can tell an audience exactly what's coming before we see it, irrevocably tied to cherished series'.
Too many times, movie franchises throw out all but the most general motif of a sequel's predecessor, not having the confidence to roll with what they had, and simply EXPAND it.
Can I tell you how SHOCKED I was to watch Star Trek 2 Into Darkness, and actually hear the theme from the first film playing throughout it again? Because it so rarely happens anymore.
Part of me thinks they wouldn't disrespect the legendary Alan Silvestri's work by dumping his theme and starting from scratch... but I won't deny I'm worried.
Which will make it all the more amazing if and when I DO hear it... but yeah... REALLY worried.
every iron man film has had different composers, djawadi's was mostly background cues with the exception of a few tracks, im3's score was really the only one to embrace the character with a proper theme (can you dig it).
also, imo each film has its own running theme sort of, so the music would change to embrace those themes. look at the difference between ca1 and 2, you go from "guns blazing ww2" to "modern spy/action thriller" and as such the scores vastly reflect those differences. silvestri's score for the first avengers had that unifying theme, and as such that was one of the big parts of the movie, the group coming together and working to beat the enemy. now that they're together and doing shit, the music would naturally change a bit. don't get me wrong, i love musical cues that are throwbacks, but they aren't necessary.
also j-dude, you're wrong about movies not having themes anymore, that shit has infinitely grown since john williams started bringing back the film orchestra and motifs. plus, jj's trek reboots were more like star wars in the musical aspect as well.

How do these characters survive without ever eating or going to the toilet? And why is it almost always daytime on the show? Does night not happen in the show? Flimsy writing.
CA was the weakest Phase 1 imo.
Iron Man 2 would like a word with you
stuff about music themes in sequels
I get what you're saying, but please for the love of god, stop writing like this. Use cursive to achieve the same effect for those words. It's awkward to read.
The score for Avengers 2 is not bad, it has its moments, and it's theme from Silvestri is back in some way, but you can't expect a movie to continously use the same music.
Every movie, even if it's a sequel needs to be able to stand on its own. Iron Man 3 did it very good. Captain America 2 did it wonderful. Avengers 2 has some good music at some points, but Tyler does not reach the quality of Silvestris work. He rather tries something on his own than overusing the Avengers theme that we got in the first movie. I appreciate that. Everything has its own advantages and disadvantages.

Marvel did a great job by giving their movies new identities with new themes. CA2 and the Iron Man movies did it the best way. Yes, the themes from the original movie barely appear, but they were able to give them new themes that perfectly fit.
So, Americans will really see Age of Ultron tomorrow, I'm taking?
Don't forget to post your impressions
God I wish I could see AoU, but of course it comes out way later her for no reason.
where are you in Canada? Its out here today for me, even though the official release is tomorrow.
yeah, aou comes out tomorrow with some 8-9pm early showings tonight
gonna go see ex machina before aou though.

Honestly, I'd be fine with them recasting him.
You get a dude with the same general face shape and cover him in makeup, no one will care.
Hell, I expected Robert Redford to pull off a mask and start goose-stepping at the end of Winter Soldier.
I feel like all these villains that are still alive like Red Skull, Abomination, the REAL Mandarin, and all them are gonna return once Marvel's finished with Infinity War.
Like, once you do Thanos, you can't go much bigger. So do stuff like Masters of Evil, where we've got a team of established heroes fighting a team of established villains. You could even make Justin Hammer into the Crimson Dynamo if you wanted, I doubt anyone would really care.

I don't have time to see it until next Wednesday.
I mean, I could go see it, but I want to go with all my friends.
Going to see it tomorrow.
Say, some of you talked about confirmed delete scenes: can you tell me more about those?
Another thing I noticed in Age of Ultron is the placing of important plot points and then moving on without bothering with them at all (the supposed "The Avengers do more harm than good" thing, for example)
Red Skull probably won't be back considering Hugo Weaving said he didn't want to play the character again.

They can recast him like they did with the Hulk
And I think I read somewhere that Weaving didn't want to do any Transformers movie after the first and then he did 2 more.
after thinking about more, in Daredevil [sp] Owlsley's death was a lot more tame than I figured it would've been, i mean the Russian dude got completely brutalized just for ruining dinner, you figured the dude who tried to kill Fisk's lover would've gotten something more brutal than just being thrown to his death quickly [/sp]

[sp]his death is a joke on what owlsley is in the comics, the owl, who can fly. he can't fly, thus, he falls to his death[/sp]
Tell us if Coulson will be in the new Avengers movie. I would like to at least see some passive reference to him. It would suck for them to make him the Director of SHIELD and then just not use him at all and have Fury being the de-facto director anyway, which I think is what they're gonna do.
