Even better. Quicksilver is in both Xmen: Days of Future Past AND Avengers played by different actors. Genius.
Wait, how does this even work? From the legal viewpoint, who owns the rights to character Quicksilver?
Wait, how does this even work? From the legal viewpoint, who owns the rights to character Quicksilver?
Technically, both of them, as both Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch fall under the Avengers and X-Men branches, and are more prominant in the Avengers than X-Men comics. Since Fox owns the rights to the X-Men, Marvel can use the characters, but can't mention anything else, like mutants or Magneto.
I'd be so disappointed if they backpedalled on the mandarin that was goddamn cinematic genius. Best thing about Iron Man 3. Amazing plot twist that turned decades of comic books on their head. Not only that, but it was intelligent, topical satire. The movie came out in the year of "Kony 2012" in which everyone collectively came together to blame a scary foreign man for all that was bad in the world. It was perfect and it showed how scheming and manipulative Killian was to understand how to fuck with the American people like that, just give them a scary foreign man who hates America, and they'll get all patriotic and fall for it, hook line and sinker. For them to have the courage to take a villain as big as the Mandarin and sacrifice him for the sake of brilliant political satire and a huge plot twist, and it just shows absolute creative courage from Marvel. That's what we wanted, right? When Iron Man 2 was so boring and lacking any real plot strength, isn't that what everyone was asking for and craving? I guess they just can't really handle it.
But the question is, are we actually going to get the actual portrayal of the Mandarain in the future or has the character been doomed to never hit the live movie screen.
But the question is, are we actually going to get the actual portrayal of the Mandarain in the future or has the character been doomed to never hit the live movie screen.
Probably not, since Killian is the MCU's Mandarin. [editline]31st October 2013[/editline]
supervillain with a revenge plot.
Killian wasn't out for revenge, he wanted power. The revenge was just a bonus to him.
Probably not, since Killian is the MCU's Mandarin.
To be truthfully honest, I could see him ascend into the role as a more 'traditional' Mandarin. At the end of Iron Man 3, it seemed that [sp]the public didn't know about Killian being the real Mandarin, and I could see the former puppet becoming the master if certain cards are played right[/sp].
Killian wasn't out for revenge, he wanted power. Wasnt the twist that annoyed me It was just the fact that this mandarin was literally a massive melt. Probably meant to be humourous but I found it annoying and too casual.

wouldn't doubt it. what's good is that these series won't be pushed down by the strains of basic cable.
Just came back from seeing Thor 2. I personally believe it is one of if not the best Avengers film so far. Maybe I'm overrating it, but I went in expecting Iron Man 2, only to fortunately be proven wrong.
i went in and all i got out of it was another sad marvel filler movie like iron man 2 characterizations in this were great though ill give it that, except for odin; barring that intro scene between him and loki which was prob my few fav scenes in this comedic mess cant stand that scene where [sp]thor compares odin to malekith[/sp] that was just hilarious
I wouldn't call it a comedic mess. The film was completely focused. As far as it being "filler," you shouldn't be treating it like it's an episode of a TV show. This is Thor: The Dark World, not The Avengers: The Dark World. The franchise needs to be able to take a step back and explore another story in it's own world, without focusing completely on the Avengers. So if you look at it as one film series titled The Avengers, then yes this would have been mostly a filler film. But it's not one film series. This is Thor, and as a Thor film you couldn't call it filler. Honestly besides Kat Dennings being annoying and corny, I didn't have any real issues with the film. If you look at it by itself as an individual film, and compare it to the other films in the marvel universe, this one is far superior to many of them. It had a unique story for once, there was very little time wasted on events not supporting this main plot, and [sp]the final battle utilizing the portals between worlds was probably the most creative final fight scene I've seen in any of these films.[/sp]
im calling it a filler because the movie doesnt explore much into the villain other than "i want to plunge the world into darkness!!!" that entire villain just screams filler plot, and not just that this is a filler for avengers 3, but seems like an entire setup for thor 3 when you see the other character arcs [editline]9th November 2013[/editline] plus killing off [sp]frigga[/sp] seemed completely meaningless due to the rushed editing, we end up getting [sp]lokis side of the story on this impact rather than thor[/sp] other than the fact he just immediately comes up with the conclusion that theyd have to work together
I agree that the villain was a little underdeveloped, but that's true for every villain in this film series except for Loki himself. [sp]Friga's death was meant to show Loki's connection to her. It was supposed to be more of a Loki thing than a Thor thing. They had to humanize Loki before the Thor or the audience would even consider trusting him. And Thor did need him because he was the only one who knew how to leave Asgard without the Bifrost.[/sp] [editline]8th November 2013[/editline] All I'm trying to say is that this movie, filler or not, was surprisingly well written and focused.
My thoughts on Thor 2's mid credits scene [sp] oh boy ANOTHER magic cube that people will fight over [/sp]
Welcome to the Marvel Universe.
My thoughts on Thor 2's mid credits scene [sp] oh boy ANOTHER magic cube that people will fight over [/sp]
Just wait for the [sp]five magical gems that fit in a glove that people will fight over.[/sp]
Thor 2 was great. I also don't think [sp] Odin was killed, but rather marooned on the Dark World [/sp] Also I thought the villain was really weak and barely appeared in the movie
I thought the movie was excellent. One of the better Marvel films, I dare say. [sp]Very ending scene: So, I take it Loki being on the throne is a bad thing. Is that meant to lead into Thor 3? Oh, and where's Odin? Mid-credits: I had no idea what was going on until I read about it online. Now I'm super excited for Avengers 3 or whenever this Thanos stuff comes to a head. After credits: I love that frost beast.[/sp]
so this is out now it's not as good as the first one imo

Paul Rudd eh? I've only ever seen him in comedies but he was generally pretty good. Let's hope he'll deliver. Can't wait for Ant-Man.
