Isn't that literally what it was? Joss Whedon saw some fan fiction and was like "fuck it, it's canon now." That's the story I heard, anyway.
I don't really get the hate for the film to be honest. I just find the whole Bruce/Natasha subplot nauseating. [sp]Bruce should be after Betty. We've hardly played that out and now he's moved on? I just don't think the two characters have any chemistry. It seems to me Joss saw that scene with them together in the first film and went "god yeah they look good together" which they did, but making it into the script feels like some Tumblr Fandom style shipping.[/sp]
To be fair, everything about the Hulk's past is ignored with exeption of the Harlem fight
No, listen to his spoiler interview on Empire Podcast. After they filmed the scene between them in Avengers 1 (where Natasha recruits Bruce) Joss and everybody else on the production team felt there was some chemistry to explore. It's only after he finished Avengers 2 and went back to watch Avengers 1 he noticed [sp]Bruce pushes the baby cradle on the set in that scene sadly and Joss was like "Ah! I linked it without even realising"[/sp]. But yeah it was nothing to do with fan fiction. Go listen to that podcast. Joss talks about a lot of different things that have been misquoted by other places and made him look bad. When in reality he's just a massive comic book fan who feels he probably overstuffed his movie a bit and had to cut his favourite parts. It's a really good insight into the film making. [editline]18th May 2015[/editline]
To be fair, everything about the Hulk's past is ignored with exeption of the Harlem fight
Well during Civil War we have General Ross returning. Could've been a good time for Betty.
I don't see the big deal with Natasha/Banner relationship
My problem is that it couldn't even stay consistent within the movie [sp]First Black Widow wants Banner, gets rejected. Then they go to Hawkeye's house and Widow says let's run away together, gets rejected Banner releases Widow from Ultron's jail, says okay, let's runaway together and Widow decides "know what, even though that's what I've been saying this whole movie, nahh"[/sp]
[sp]I wouldn't say rejected. For me he seemed to want to run away with her from the beginning but was afraid of putting her in danger. And in the ending she said nah because if they didn't help, there would be no use for them to run away since the world would probably be destroyed.[/sp]
Honestly, going into the movie having heard about this part, it didn't strike me as what I thought it was gonna be. I got the impression that [sp]she was calling herself a monster not because she's sterile, but because she was made into the most efficient and loyal killer she could be and sterility was just part of that package[/sp]. There definitely could've been a better lead-in to that point, but that was the message I took away from the scene despite the weird delivery.
I think that's how it was intended, but they did a really shitty job on the delivery.
Well during Civil War we have General Ross returning. Could've been a good time for Betty.
Maybe have Jennifer Walters have her accident in the stinger, just to complete it.
I need more Daredevil now... I'm interested in seeing what Marvel and Netflix bring to the table with Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and then ultimately The Defenders.
Here's a news article from 2006 when Marvel first announced their plans for cinematic universe: http://uk.ign.com/articles/2006/08/10/marvel-movie-slate-update-2 It seems every film apart from Iron Man had a different director/writer and Hulk was being referred to as "Hulk 2". What would Avengers by Zak Penn have been like? According Whedon it was so awful he only agreed to direct if he could completely rewrite it. Marvel let him, but they have set plans for their films. Even the Zak Penn draft it was always Avengers V Loki with the heroes fighting each other before teaming up against Loki at the end. Ant Man has not only been in development since 2006, it has also seemingly always featured Scott Lang:
The presentation confirmed that Ant-Man will feature not one but two versions of the Marvel character, with small time criminal Scott Lang stumbling upon a supersuit once worn by Dr. Hank Pym. Edgar Wright is attached to direct.
It's amazing how open they were with plot details and everything all that time ago. It's interesting to see how far it's come. Shame the presentation PDF isn't available anymore. It's worth noting however that at this time it wasn't clear the films would crossover. Infact speaking at Comic Con 2006 Edgar Wright said he didn't want to do crossovers with the wider Marvel Universe and really just focus on Ant Man:
"One of the things I don't want to do, is get into the whole Marvel history; The last thing I want to do is try to cram too much in and fail."

I think that's how it was intended, but they did a really shitty job on the delivery.
I agree 100%. IMO [sp]the sterility bit[/sp] should've been far more of an afterthought, with more elaboration on [sp]"I'm the perfect killer"[/sp] in between so it didn't come off as [sp]"You can't have kids cuz you're a rage monster? Well I can't have kids either, that makes me a monster too!"[/sp] Like, I do think the focus wasn't supposed to be what people took away from it, but the fact that they did get what they did makes me think it was written poorly.
Chris Pratt said he has a contract to do two more GotG movies and "2 others". So, more pointing toward the guardians being in infinity wars. Guess we'll find out for sure during GotG 2, if not the button scene.
plot twist: one of the infinity gems is the awesome mix vol. 1
plot twist: one of the infinity gems is the awesome mix vol. 1
poor volume two
It's pretty much guaranteed that guardians will be in infinity war. Thanos has only really been shown in their movie, which had an infinity stone, and thanos will be in space on a floating rock (if it's like the comics) not on Earth. I'll be amazed if they aren't
im sure every avenger up to that point will be in infinity war bigger question is what villains will show besides thanos and loki? all of them for the most part are dead.
im sure every avenger up to that point will be in infinity war bigger question is what villains will show besides thanos and loki? all of them for the most part are dead.
I forgot that Ronan killed The Other in GotG. Nevermind.
I'm really hoping infinity war brings back alot of villains through the use of the time stone and shit like that, as well as a few villains helping fight him to save the universe, which means the fights wont be against random henchmen but smaller more interesting fights... Hopefully. I'd kill for shit like red skull vs black widow for example

Doesn't Thanos help the heroes fight the villain in Infinity Wars comics? Enemy of my enemy type thing. I'm kinda hoping part of the film will be a bit like Secret Wars. Somebody uses the stone to warp some of the heroes to Battleworld and some villains. Have Spidey find the alien suit.
I have a feeling that Infinity Wars movies won't be exceptionally similar to the comic storyline. Look what they did to Age of Ultron, after all.
They came out and flat out said "this is not based on the comic of the same" with that. It seems they've set up Vision to be [sp]Adam Warlock. Well fill in his role in this universe. He has the Infinity Gem in his head, he based his appearance partly on Thor and came out of cocoon. So I'm guessing they're setting him up to play the same role. I mean they could introduce Adam Warlock in Guardians but it would be a bit repeating of their concept of Vision at this point. Also Infinity Wars is an Avengers film and I can't imagine they'll introduce any major players outside of the Avengers franchise now as they like viewers to not have to watch everything[/sp]
Apparently Marvel's looking to cast Matthew McConaughey as Norman Osborn. http://www.pointofgeeks.com/pog-exclusive-marvel-courting-matthew-mcconaughey-for-norman-osborn/
Not sure how I feel about that.
Oh my god that would be perfect. Curl his hair up, then give him a buzz. That way he'll have that perfect white guy corn-rows look.

http://www.pointofgeeks.com/pog-exclusive-marvel-courting-matthew-mcconaughey-for-norman-osborn/
I literally just learned yesterday that he's apparently desperate to be in a Marvel or DC movie and he's read a ton of scripts but hasn't found one he likes yet. He wants something worth returning to countless times. I think the archnemesis of Spider-man and one of the biggest Marvel villains would be right up his street.
