Seeing all the new heroes/villains appearing in Civil War makes me want Doctor Strange in an avengers film even more.
And with Civil War being out the same year Doctor Strange, I hope Scarlet Witch or somebody name drops the sorcerer supreme or something.
Anyone think Civil War will be much more satisfying then AoU?

well it is the russo bros after all, and considering the cap movies have generally been top dog of the whole mcu i wouldn't be surprised.

cap 2 was, but cap 1 was pretty dull imo. iron man 1 is still the pre avengers 1 top dog

Can't wait to see what it's like with the foley.
I wonder if Marvel are going to make any more one-shots. They have TV shows now, they don't really need them anymore
I think someone asked Feige and they said they didn't have any plans for any more currently. Which is a damn shame, because having a few little extra glimpses into the goings on between movies is awesome.

yeah avengers>iron man>cap>the rest of phase 1 is how it goes

That's kinda lame. Max Landis (the Chronicle writer) put it best when he said it would've been pretty neat for them to use one-shots to give some smaller directors or filmmakers a small budget to do short pieces about some of the smaller Marvel characters, and focus on putting them out on YouTube or somewhere else on the internet, so there could be ten or twenty or so small Marvel productions out there every year between the big releases
imo that would be pretty freaking sweet, it's a shame Marvel are playing it so safe and kinda boringly

That's kind of the role that the TV shows play now though. Back then they didn't have anything like that.
Man how cool would this be
[sp]In Ragnarok
Thanos invades Asgard with help of Loki
Odin climbs into the destroyer armor and has a awesome battle with Thanos[/sp]
I prefer one shots over AoS
It'd be nice is the shows did actually give us a slice of life in the MCU between movies. I don't want them to be a running journal of Iron Man sightings or anything, but a lot of big things have happened in the movies that would've had a lot of public and personal fallout for regular humans, and we never see any of that. The Battle of New York, the Invasion of the Dark Elves, even uploading all of SHIELD's secrets to the internet. Think wikileaks, except the secrets are catastrophic comic-level reveals that should bring down nations.

Daredevil's come the closest, with the ruination of Hell's Kitchen and the newspaper articles about Harlem and the Battle of New York. Probably good they don't go around talking loudly about aliens, though, as I think that would've been hard to maintain the tone.

You clearly haven't seen any of the second half of season 1 or season 2. That shit ramps the fuck up to the point where the season finale is a 2 hour special that almost felt like a film. It was bonkers and your missing out bro!
It's by no means amazing. It's just better than it was. I still wouldn't rate it with other great TV shows. Maybe some good ones. It's become convoluted as fuck and trying to present itself as clever when it's still superficial.
If it wasn't for the Marvel tie in, if this series was out of the MCU, it would be panned to hell and back.

The episodes I watched from the first season + Coulson's resurrection and bipolarity makes me have no desire to watch season 2.
dont worry it really doesnt get any better
Yes it does.

AoS is very poor use of the talent the have. Daredevil really really hits that home. It's also pretty clear the show will run until after Inhumans, so you'll have three more seasons no matter what.
I don't know much about US ratings but it seems everybody is saying how badly AOS is doing. But when I look at the stats it's not that far off, or usually more, than The Flash which seems like it has more budget?
I doubt Shield will be going for another three seasons anyway.

When it started, it was panned BECAUSE it was in the MCU.

AoS is probably ABC's most consistent show ratings-wise, with almost every other show taking a massive drop. It also does really well in DVR ratings.

Pretty sure it was panned because the first few episodes are complete dogshit. Even staunch defenders of AoS generally agree that the show doesnt become decent until about halfway through season one and isnt "good" until the events of TWS.

That too, but most reviews when it started complained about it's presence in the MCU.

I thought the childish nature of the early episodes was a very nice way of subverting the viewers expectations, allowing much more punch when it turned out that Hydra was alive and well inside of Shield.
had it just been your everyday spy show where everybody lies to everybody from the beginning you'd have no stake in any of the characters who instead are introduced as genuine people that want to make a change for the better(especially the 3 younger team members)
[editline]22nd May 2015[/editline]
Also AoS got a lot of grief because the early episodes made it seem like the connection to the MCU was more of a gimmick than an actual asset to the show.
in other news, this kid asked the make-a-wish foundation if he could meet deadpool

Reynolds's caption for this is even better.
Tony Acevedo asked Make A Wish Foundation if he could meet Deadpool. I wasn't expecting him to sneak the mask, put on the gloves, smile... and then beat Deadpool about the face, arms and jugular with blazing speed. Tony's next fight is with Hodgkin's Disease. Hodgkin's Disease best be wearing its brown pants. Huge thanks to @makeawishamerica
In hindsight about AoU,
[sp]It's kind of cheap that the Avenger's finding of Ultron, who was conveniently placed right where the bad guys were at the beginning of the film, was found only by the fact that Ultron decided to randomly kidnap BW and take her to his evil lair...for a 2 minute speech.[/sp]
