I don't see the resemblance. Except maybe in colour...?

Baron Mordo's been cast, which matches up with the rumour from JoBlo that the villains would be[sp]Mordo and Dormammu, with the Mindless Ones as minions[/sp]

Okay, so, spoiler talk on Ant-Man.
[sp]I think we can all agree the scene that made Edgar Wright zip away from the movie was the one where he goes and fights the Falcon, right? You know what? If it was between not having that scene and having that scene, I'm pretty glad we have that scene. Because it provided a great way to connect with the other movies and it gave the Falcon something to do. Plus, the "I know this guy" line was a great payoff to the "I'm looking for a guy who shrinks" gag.[/sp]

I think it was that mixed with the fact [sp]he wanted Hank to be the villain in the end or something along those lines but Marvel said no although that may just be rumors I heard awhile back[/sp]

I love Edgar Wright and while that's an interesting idea, I wouldn't have liked it that much if that's how he wanted to approach it.
Thankfully much of the movie seemed to still have many light Edgar Wrightism's or atleast traces of his style in it such as [sp]the fast cut shots during scenes like the heist setup planning, Luis' tips, and Scott immediately trying to return the suit. Much of the visual comedy seemed very much up Wright's alley.[/sp]

Considering how[sp]Pym's achievements are already being put to the side a bit in the MCU, I think making Hank Pym the villain in the end would've caused quite a few fanboys to go berserk.[/sp]

Actually,
[sp]PEYTON: Well, you know, the whole core of what Edgar and Joe created, the idea of doing Ant-Man as a heist movie structure, the idea of making Hank Pym the elder statesman, the mentor and Scott Lang the pupil and also driving toward a third act where the big battle took place in a little girl’s bedroom. That’s all Edgar and Joe conceptually. [/sp]

[sp]PEYTON: I also wanted to bolster sort of like the heist language in the movie. These, there’s a couple times where Michael Pena’s character Luis is giving these tips. That didn’t exist in the early drafts of the script and we added it and the idea that he’s gotta provide the credible sort of source of his information, but he gets off track. And he’s a little A.D.D. and so stylistically that was something that I brought to the movie. [/sp]

[sp]PEYTON: You know, one of the things I wanted to do sort of with the script was I wanted to deepen Hank Pym’s character a little bit. Particularly knowing that we had Michael Douglas playing Pym. I mean, Pym in the comics realm is a incredibly complicated character. Douglas has made a career of playing these characters with a very big gray area. And sort of, you know, some morally dubious characters. And I really wanted to lean into that. I also wanted to have Wasp be a presence in the movie. Both the original Janet Van Dyne Wasp and also driving toward Hope sort of picking up the mantle of her Mother. And in order to do that, you know, that was something that McKay and I talked about as well is let’s see a flashback where we see Wasp that didn’t appear in any of the Edgar and Joe drafts. I also wanted to really bolster the idea of Scott Lang and particularly with Scott, with Paul playing him, this MacGyver aspect of him when he breaks in.
PEYTON: Yeah. And that was something that McKay and I came up with. We met with this security guy who talked about how do you get into these things. And McKay wrote and I boarded out this whole thing of how he’s very simply with these kitchen items gonna get into that thing. And same with breaking into the safe. McKay had this security expert come in and we were talking about how would you break into a safe if you weren’t an expert safecracker? And we talked about types of metal that reacted to liquid nitrogen. And McKay wrote that and that was something we brought to the movie as well.[/sp]
Seems like my favorite part of the movie is all Peyton. Huh.
Haven't seen Antman yet, guess with all the spoilers rolling in it's time to avoid this thread to stop the temptation of clicking them.

It seems like with this and the sequel/prequel hopes he really likes Pym which I'm 100% okay
Also spoilers but Peyton talks about one easter egg at the end of this video which is pretty important

[sp]I definitely saw a shape. It looked a bit like Wasp...[/sp]
Ant Man was fun as shit to watch.
Doctor Strange confirmed to introduce magic into Marvel Cinematic Universe. No more pussyfooting around the issue like in Thor movies.
I loved Antman so much; my brothers and I just keep talking about it.
I especially liked how [sp]Scott tries to return the suit after using it for the first time. To me, it made a really unbelievable concept feel real. The first experience with the suit is a nightmare; but in other super hero movies they could have played it very differently (OH MY GOD; THIS SUIT IS AWESOME!). this makes the training period more satisfying as we see Scott master the suit.[/sp]
I also like how [sp]The main villain isn't a edit: complete moron who can't piece together what Pym is doing and who the new Antman is. It's just a small part of the story, but it was a nice little subversion.[/sp]
Ranks in my top 5 marvel movies for sure.
So, Ant-Man was great.
Spoiler:
[sp] Why isn't anyone talking about the Spider-Man reference? [/sp]
After having more than a few hours inbetween me and Ant-Man, I can safely say I liked it more than Iron Man.
Just saw Ant-Man few hours ago. I'm starting to get tired of superhero movies but luckily this one was more of a comedy and had an overall lighter mood [sp](except for turning living beings into pink sludge)[/sp].
According to some rumors, we might see a Marvel roller coaster announced for Disneyland/DCA at D23 in August.

I wonder how long Universal will be able to legally keep the Marvel coasters open at Island's of Adventure. I bet one year they'll just reskin all the attractions. Which is a shame because the Hulk coaster and the Spirder Man ride are freaking awesome.

I have a trip planned at Universal within the next year. It will be a sad day when we lose those.
Should I start watching Agents of Shield again, and if so, where should I begin from?
The last episode I watched was where we find out the backstory of that asian lady who doesn't smile pretty much all of the time.
Got back from Ant-Man a few minutes ago and I'm pleasantly surprised. I don't know if I liked it more than Iron Man, but I did appreciate how subdued it was. It didn't end with an onslaught of goons versus the one good guy, but it was just two guys duking it out. It was refreshing.
I didn't like Ant-Man as much as some of the other movies like Iron Man and Captain America 2. It was ok, predicable in parts, on the whole; average. Much like Thor 1 and Captain America 1.
Ivan Ooze is looks great.

doesnt the hulk coaster have a little introduction with the hulk going "hulk smash" or something right when it launches? i was there a long time ago and i don't remember well but i know there was something like that

From what I can tell, I think you're close to the finale of Season 2. I'd say pick up where you left off on episode 17/18? and then go from there.
So I saw Ant-man last night, was so much fun to watch.
Also I was sitting beside the director of Suicide Squad during the movie. So awesome.
Oh man, the feeling of going to a movie when a known Hollywood director is right next to you.
Finally got to see Antman today.
Man that was a great movie to watch, really refreshing after the Avengers 2 clusterfuck.
I wish more Marvel movies were like this.

I feel like the agreement is that Universal owns COMIC marvel and Disney owns FILM marvel, as long as Universal only references comics and Disney only references movies I don't think there's any collision in ownership? I go to both parks and that's just what I feel I've noticed because Disney especially only really has whatever is popular or new in the films being sold and none of the designs with costumes or rides at Universal are based on any Marvel movies, at best you see animated stuff from old marvel cartoons.
I've heard nothing about getting rid of the Marvel part of IoA, the "Nintendoland" area is rumored to be at the Universal Studios park and not IoA so the idea of it replacing that is kinda shot in the dark if true.

I believe so, but it's been awhile since I've been to Islands of Adventure. I remember the ride setup is like the accident that exposes Bruce Banner to the gamma radiation.

Interesting, I forgot about the Nintendo thing. Frankly, I think it'd be cooler if it had it's own island instead of being at Universal, but I guess that's not likely to happen.
Also, I'm not sure how the deal worked out. I thought Universal just had the license for attractions/rides.
