Just finished Netflix Daredevil. Impressive show but didn't have anything too outstanding as everyone I heard talking about it. Probably because I have seen all of Arrow it feels similar, but good nonetheless. Looking forward to S2. Now I want to read all the stuff you people have written in this thread about this show hidden in spoilers but damn that's gonna be a long search
Daredevil is probably the best thing I've seen this year And how was Paul Rudd in Antman?
Daredevil is probably the best thing I've seen this year And how was Paul Rudd in Antman?
Average/good enough IMO. I feel like every other main character, Hank, Hope and Luis, all outshone him for both comedy and as interesting characters.
If anything I absolutely love Daredevil's intro. Both music and the visuals.
Wasn't the intro made by the same guys who did the Game of Thrones intro?
If anything I absolutely love Daredevil's intro. Both music and the visuals.
I really like the intro, but I feel it doesn't work very well when binge watching.
Works one hell of a lot better than Game of Thrones, conveys the theme and setting of the series without being over a minute long to show that it's okay to switch off because the episode features Dany and is guaranteed to be a snore-fest when she's on the screen.
but it always does take you out of the film. it's like "hey, there's stan lee". i wish they'd stop doing it tbh.
They will in a few years when Stan leaves us. Let's make the most of it while we can. He's an icon. I like the harder to spot cameos most. Like Daredevil.
whaaaat
Roughly 2/3rds way through the season
is there a stan lee cameo in ant-man?
Yes and he's not even the best cameo in the film. [sp]That belongs to Garret Morris[/sp]
So I must have missed it in Ant Man, but [sp]What's the Spider man reference? And about the thing we had to look for in the subatomic scene?[/sp]
So I must have missed it in Ant Man, but [sp]What's the Spider man reference? And about the thing we had to look for in the subatomic scene?[/sp]
[sp]At the end, the reporter says 'we've got a guy who jumps, a guy who swings, and a guy who crawls up walls.'[/sp]

A wing can be seen, but its very quick so I guess its where the sequel will lead us. They don't show Janet's face at any point so they will probably cast a young actor who they can use for quite a few films, as time is distorted in the Microverse. Or they might just leave Hope to be the only Wasp. Could get confusing.[/sp]
[sp]that's kind of horrible and dark tbh if there was some sort of chance that wasp could have been saved from the microverse and scott just passed by her[/sp]
Going to see Ant-Man on thursday, hyped.
[sp]that's kind of horrible and dark tbh if there was some sort of chance that wasp could have been saved from the microverse and scott just passed by her[/sp]
[sp]he was kinda busy tripping the fuck out[/sp]
[sp]he was kinda busy tripping the fuck out[/sp]
[sp]I know, its wasnt like, "hey theres this lady thats probably the same lady hank told me about, fuck it, leave her". He did say that he couldn't comprehend a single thing, I just think its still kind of dark that she's still there in purgatory after all these years[/sp]
Well time doesnt mean shit there, so it couldve honestly felt like 5 seconds to her.
That's actually kind of sad because she could have thought it was Pym coming to save her, just for him to leave her behind.
Am I the only one for whom Ant-Man felt like two different movies? Like I could clearly tell what elements of this film were left by Edgar Wright and what was changed by Marvel? On one hand we had a solid hour of great jokes, that actually make you laugh out loud and not roll your eyes ([sp]I died at the scenes with Charlie the Train, or when Luis was telling a story[/sp]) - by the way they were written and how visual humor was incorporated it reminded me the way Wright writes his scenes. But then on the other we had bland, sometimes cringe-worthy moments of self-exposition, forced drama, generic villain aka Obadiah Stone for poor people and all the other elements that make rewatching certain Marvel films painful. If they'd stick with the humourous, light side it could easily be the best Marvel film, just by how different it was. It was still decent, but could have been better.
i thought i knew that too until someone posted that pena's storytelling scenes, which to me where the most obvious edgar wright-isms in the movie, were actually peyton's work
I don't want to give Peyton too much credit. From what I read in the interview the script was rewritten by Rudd and McKey, and the Luis monologues felt somehow McKey-ish. They fleshed out several characters, including Bobby Cannavale's. Was it for better, I don't know. But there were a lot more, like the action scenes with the toys or in a briefcase with weirdly inappropriate yet fitting music? That was clear Wright. Same with training elements. And I loved Luis. Make him an Avenger pls.
A lot of the parts I liked most were additions Peyton, Rudd and McKay made (from what we've heard in interviews and stuff)

Someone also posted something relating the quantum realm to Dr. Strange. so could [sp] he possibly save her from the realm. [/sp] Also I hope Civil War somehow teases Dr. Strange. Even if it's just a button scene.
in a briefcase with weirdly inappropriate yet fitting music? That was clear Wright.
Sorry, that was Peyton too. [sp]I'm looking into it but it seems to me that whilst the final battle was set in a girl's room from the start in Edgar/Joe's draft, Thomas the Tank Engine might have not.[/sp] [editline]21st July 2015[/editline] Well,
[sp]PEYTON: “I believe in Edgar [Wright] and Joe Cornish’s original drafts it was a train set,” Reed recalls. “At some point in the process that predated my involvement it became Thomas. As I came on, they had not secured the rights to Thomas. We had to do this whole thing where we did this presentation for the people who own the rights to Thomas. Thank God they agreed and found it funny, but there were definite stipulations. For example, nobody could be tied to the tracks and run over by Thomas. Thomas couldn’t be doing anything that could be perceived by children as evil Thomas. Thomas had to stay neutral in the battle, which was always our intention. Like anybody, they’re protective of their brand. I didn’t know what we were going to do if we didn’t get the rights to that. There are certain things I was going to be devastated about if we couldn’t have them. Thomas was one, because… you could do any kind of toy train, but the personality of that thing and the eyes moving back and forth give it a whole vibe and took it to another level.”[/sp]
So, civil war speculation and possible ant man spoilers, [sp]so one side of the civil war is gonna be captain america, bucky, falcon, and ant man? Also, what are they actually going to be fighting over, it seems like there aren't enough people with powers in the mcu for it to be about the registration act, at least in the comics they had all of the mutants and stuff.[/sp]

Do you guys think they'll mention hero's from future movies? Like Doc Strange or Captain marvel?
