Saw Ant Man about 4 hours ago, aside from the weak villain, a recurring problem for the MCU apart from Loki and maybe Thanos imo.
I thought it was really good, at no point did it get too serious and it just stayed fairly light and i loved all the visual gags. [sp] T34 Keyring was obvious to me from the start but that's just me [/sp]
With regards to hanks wife [sp] I'm just gonna go ahead and assume she's actually alive in the void on the account you never see her face or hear her speak, hank worked 10 years straight on trying to get her back, and he said time is non existent there, and the fact Scott went there saw a wasp wing and made it back alive though he tripped out and remembers nothing. IMO they sign posted that a little too much so I'm confident of her coming back, my guess is that Dr Strange will be the one to rescue her and due to her time in the QR it might make her become Red Queen rather than Hope because she has PTSD or something alone those lines[/sp]
Everyone says Loki is the best villain in the MCU so far, but honestly he's my least favorite.
Too whiny, like a child stomping his feet when he doesn't get what he wants.

It's not so much that he's the best, he's just the only one who isn't utterly forgettable, in my eyes at least.
Don't get me wrong i remember some of the others but none of them come to mind easily outside of knowing the actors who played them(except redskul for personal reasons) look at Thor 2 for example. I never even knew Christopher Eccleston was in it let alone he was playing the big bad in that film, and i can't even remember what he looked like either other than him wearing black and getting crushed at the end.

I feel like this is going to end up in a similar fashion to Sony's Spiderverse movies.
Seeing as the main problem is FF's ultra horrendous script, pretty sure using Singer's vetted team would do a world of good.

Speaking of Spider-Man-
So a suspicious twitter account popped up recently, showing photos that may be related to Civil War. [sp]The account is followed by Marvel Studios co-president Louis D'Esposito[/sp]
Apparently, it could be the first look at a portion of the new Spider-Man suit.

It's a lense with a shutter over it. God only knowswhat that could be used for.

Daaaamn, interesting to see how DP and Spider-man are both approaching changing lens shapes differently. Link to the account?

They have some other shit on there,

i like his character, though. he's the only one that seems to have some motivation beyond "i am evil man haha give me your plans stark"
i like his character, though. he's the only one that seems to have some motivation beyond "i am evil man haha give me your plans stark"
The only motivation I saw in him is a power-hungry man-child.

Check the difference between his dialog in thor and avengers.
The only motivation I saw in him is a power-hungry man-child.
yeah but he does it because he has an inferiority complex (always thinking he's the least favorite child, then finding out he's adopted and thinking he never stood a chance of being crowned king) and wants to prove to everyone how powerful he is
sure that's not really the most complex and intricate archetype out there but i still think he was developed a lot more than the other villains
I feel the only reason Loki is "developed" is because he's the only villain to span multiple movies.
also i didn't mind jeff bridges in IM1, he was even more simple but somehow it worked because he came off as simple-minded himself

idk, i think they put a lot more work into his character in thor 2 than a lot of the main marvel heroes in their movies
that and his interactions with thor were the best (if not the only good) thing about that movie
For what little screen time and spoken lines he gets, I thought the Winter Soldier was a decent villain. The fight scenes really help to sell him as a brutal killing machine.
Robert Redford and the whole omnipresence of HYDRA were some of the MCU's more interesting antagonists.

It's the Aunt May spinoff all over again.
Check the difference between his dialog in thor and avengers.
In 'Thor 1' Loki is trying to impress Oden, in Avengers he's a stereotypical deranged narcissistic sociopath with the typical "I'm the overlord and you're all cockroaches" attitude reminiscent of a cartoon villain.
Ant-Man was gud. Saw it in IMAX, and i have to say that was the most natural movie experience i have ever been to. The screen size and the movie just blended so well and never felt like it was stretched or anything. It was good.
Just got back from Ant-Man. I really enjoyed it, it's probably one of my favourite Marvel movies now, just below GotG and CA2. Honestly, my biggest complaint is that [sp]the second after credits scene was kind of shit. What's the point in the whole searching for Bucky subplot if it's resolved in a five second post credits scene with them squatting in some basement?[/sp]

[sp]You do realize there's a lot implied there? Like how they can't go to Tony with the fact they found Bucky, or why they need to hide him which leads to them asking Ant-Man? We know they're gonna find Bucky, but why, how or what are the consequences of this discovery are still unknown.[/sp]
I find it noteworthy that [sp]bucky didn't seem too upset at being captured. He didn't look like he was angry, he looked more curious as to what the others were doing than anything.[/sp]
At least that's the impression I got.
The only good villains are the ones who aren't killed off.
Well Hammer and Trevor Slattery are only in Jail.
Well Hammer and Trevor Slattery are only in Jail.
Nope.
About that [sp]Mandarin villain[/sp], I really hope to god they revisit him later. Maybe as a subplot in Agents of SHIELD or Doctor Strange. Who knows.
I wouldn't mind if they revisit The Mandarin after they've introduced magic into the MCU. Iron Man's technology vs. powerful 'magic' would be interesting to see.
Didn't they cave and say that wasn't the real Mandarin after all when everyone was so disappointed?
People put on suits fast in Ant-Man.
Nope.
Oh, you're talking about that short film they made to please some fans. I didn't know it was canon.

[sp]Yeah, but we already know that they are looking for Ant-Man from the Luis talk at the end and we already know that there is going to be a falling out between Cap and Tony from the marketing so it's not like there was really any surprises there.[/sp]
