Just saw Ant-Man. Corey Stoll's character didn't really do anything for me, so bland. Michael Peña and TI were the best characters.
maybe i just really like corey stoll, but while his character was bland i really felt he performed it well - there seemed to be a lot of subtle sadness beneath his anger and resentment
imo they should've played the [sp]"crazy because of pym particles"[/sp] aspect a bit more, he was a bit of a psycho but i feel like he should've just been batshit insane. i wanted more of him [sp]turning people into mush and throwing them down the drain[/sp]
A feminist friend of mine wants to boycott Antman because ants in real life are ruled by a queen and male ants are used solely for reproduction then discarded. Logically, this means it should be Antwoman, not Antman.
My head hurts from reading this. Please tell me you're pulling my leg.
The issue here is that you're friends with her.
If what you are saying Emperor is true, she's cray cray. The bad, needs professional help stat, kind of insane. He's called Ant-Man because he's a man and he's got technology that can shrink him to ant size and control the ants, ant behavior has nothing to do with that name.
Also, the fact that Hope can control the ants means that sex doesn't matter.
I think Stark is going to die in Infinity War.
The issue here is that you're friends with her.
It's not as if we're best friends. More like we associate with the same social circles would be a better description.
I think Stark is going to die in Infinity War.
Why? There is literally no reason for Tony Stark to die
Why? There is literally no reason for Tony Stark to die
They're mildly setting it up where he's going to valiantly sacrifice himself to save the rest of the team.
They're mildly setting it up where he's going to valiantly sacrifice himself to save the rest of the team.
Personally, Captain America is the only one I can see dying for several reasons: 1. It has happened in the comics 2. Bucky is already set up and could easily replace Steve Rogers as Cap, honoring his legacy. 3. Tony Stark could be affected by it and may use it to unite them much like Coulson's death did.
That would be more appropriate in Civil War than Infinity Wars, though. I don't think they'll kill off Captain America even in that, though. Bucky has literally no set up in the MCU to take his mantle. In the comics, he's gotten to know a lot of the different characters for a while, especially Black Widow and Falcon, before the Civil War happens. They'll have to put a lot of screen time on Cap and him getting to know each other again for it to happen.
Just saw Ant-Man again, I tried really hard to see [sp]Janet/Wasp in the Quantum Realm[/sp] but I am not sure I saw it. It was rather faint at best.
Why? There is literally no reason for Tony Stark to die
Downey Jr. said he's not going to be Iron Man for to long and directors usually like to kill off characters to add drama, it would work rather well since Infinity War was split into two parts.
Downey Jr. said he's not going to be Iron Man for to long and directors usually like to kill off characters to add drama, it would work rather well since Infinity War was split into two parts.
I would rather them switch actors than kill off Tony Stark. I feel that there are many stories they can still tell with Iron Man.
Robert Downey Jr. is Ironman. He's one of the most prominent characters in the MCU. I wouldn't be able to handle them recasting the character, especially when we're so close to Infinity Wars, the big finally of the 3 phases. It would be better if he died. Then have a reboot or something or take another Ironman from an alternate universe to have a new actor.
Last I heard they were planning on recasting if RDJ dropped out.
The problem with recasting in this scenario is that the actor is already too inclined with the character. It's like recasting Wolverine. You can only see Hugh Jackman in that role. It worked with War Machine and Bruce Banner because Howard and Norton only appeared in one film.
Audiences accepted that Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer, George Clooney, Christian Bale and now Ben Affleck are playing the same character- and yet I would say this exact same conversation happened when Keaton was out. Audiences accepted the fact that Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield and now Tom Holland are playing the same role- and yet I would say this exact same conversation happened when Maguire was out. Recasting is not the problem, the problem is making the right recast. You can get audiences to accept anything.
Problem is that those movies are different universes with different continuities. If they recast Tony Stark within the MCU, then I would have an issue with it.
Weren't Keaton-Kilmer-Clooney part of the same continuity established by 89's Batman?
Weren't Keaton-Kilmer-Clooney part of the same continuity established by 89's Batman?
Yeah but a lot of those movies really sucked anyway. [editline]27th July 2015[/editline]
Last I heard they were planning on recasting if RDJ dropped out.
Well without an on screen death, they really wouldn't have a choice.
Why are we talking about recasting? Why would he ever drop out of this? He get's rich as fuck because of this
Why are we talking about recasting? Why would he ever drop out of this? He get's rich as fuck because of this
Money don't matter if you feel too old to keep up with it.
Money don't matter if you feel too old to keep up with it.
Ironman is like 90% CGI, all RDJ has to do is the occasional walking around talking shots and a bunch of those head in a box shots for the action scenes. It's just about the least taxing role in the Avengers.
Money don't matter if you feel too old to keep up with it.
He's just 50 years old Gandalf is apporoaching 80 and is still running around with hobbits
I'm just sayin' He already tried to quit once. Next time may be final regardless of how much money they offer him.
Why are we talking about recasting? Why would he ever drop out of this? He get's rich as fuck because of this
He already stated that he wants to stop playing Iron Man.
Last I heard they were planning on recasting if RDJ dropped out.
They actually said the opposite. They wouldn't recast. They likely outcome would Stark dies or retires and somebody else takes on the mantle.
i believe rdj stated that infinity war is his last time being stark and disney/marvel was like "yeah well we'll reboot you cuz you're like james bond bitch" and then we, the fans, realized there was nothing we could do about it.
