In the 50's, they brought back Cap and Bucky as communist fighters. It didn't go well. So when Lee and Kirby were doing the Avengers and brought back Cap, Lee 'forgot' about that version. It was later retconned into this crazy Cap. Basically:

Watching CinemaSins's Thor: The Dark World video makes me realize Marvel needs to make it more clear that all the Phase 2 movies happen at the same time, because I'm tired of people asking why isn't Iron Man helping Thor or vice versa.

I agree. It would have also been enough just to reference the recent events of the other films. Like showing news on the TV what happens to Tony or Steve. But when I think about it, it would spoil the plot details for other people.

But Marvel doesn't do retcons! Which is why they have so much wierdness and just plain awful and detestable racism, sexism, and all nasty stuff cluttering up the continuity. And One More Day. Which is pretty much why I stick to the cartoons and stuff like that.
Speaking of which, any series recommendations and where to watch them if it's not against the rules?
Just got back from seein winter soldier. It was certainly more enjoyable than the first IMO. Some scenes felt like they dragged on a bit too long but it didn't subtract from the action segments which were fantastic.
Got back form seeing and must say, I'm impressed. One of the best Avenger build up films.

[sp]I thought Zola being dedicated to Hydra like that was a huge surprise. He struck me in the first film as not dedicated to Hydra but a scientist with no morals. But I'm not huge on the background for Marvel films. I was also surprised that they blew up the bunker, I would of thought him a coward instead of sacrificing what remained of him in order to keep Cap busy.[/sp]
