does all the Xmen stuff take place in another universe, separate from all the other marvel characters?
does all the Xmen stuff take place in another universe, separate from all the other marvel characters?
Fox owns the film rights to the X-Men, so that's in one universe. Marvel Studios has the rights to everyone but Ghost Rider (or did they get that back already?) and Spider-Man (maybe Punisher and Daredevil too but I think they have that back too), so their stuff is in another universe entirely. Short answer is yes, it's in a different universe, which is why we're getting different versions of the same characters in both the next X-Men movie and Avengers 2.

Disney owns the animated rights to everything as well, so I don't think Infinity will be restricted by the film rights.
Think they'll leave things open enough about Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch that thry'll be able to slot in the mutant milarky at a later date? Or do you think they'll say something like "they were given powers by fucking about with the glowy gem thingys because they can do that"?
the whole mutant thing is way too big for them to leave that possibility out there, imo
They can't be called mutant's in the avenger's universe. idk what they're going to call them I think someone said they called them [sp] Miracles [/sp] I wonder how they'll dive into that matter.
Their backstory beyond [sp]"they were imprisoned by HYDRA"[/sp] probably won't be mentioned until Marvel gets the rights back.

A movie involving Avengers and X-Men would be cool tho
Its safe to assume so, BUT sony seems to be willing to do minor crossover stuff (Oscorp tower, for example.)
and Andrew Garfield was seen carrying a bunch of Thanos comics before the first avengers came out so maybe they're working on a deal where spiderman will appear in the avengers movie (probably part 3)
fox is already having enough trouble in focusing on all those characters that prob may as well have been credited as "not wolverine"
sony seems like they'd be willing to do some stuff (if not for that idiotic producer they have that said spider-man is more valuable than the avengers), but fox can't even work out its own properties and is blowing its wad early by putting a release date on the sequel for the FF reboot that hasn't even come out yet
Saw Cap2 this morning, it was fuckin' great. I am mildly disappointed at the lack of a GotG trailer in my theater though. [sp]I really enjoyed the bit where the crazy hydra scientist guy from cap1 was living in the computer, I thought that was a fuckin' cool way to wrap up his story with out going "oh he died somehow". Also dat Dr.Strange name drop. and that pulp fiction reference on Fury's tombstone. [/sp]

Just watched the first episode of The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes and my first impressions are that they imprisioned Alan Moore in a giant buttplug in the middle of New York.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe is now the highest grossing franchise in American history
This week’s release of Captain America: The Winter Soldier brought the domestic gross of the nine films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to $2,463,300,000 and counting. That’s more than the eight Harry Potter films, seven Star Wars films (including The Clone Wars), and 24 James Bond films, making it the highest grossing franchise in American history…not adjusted for inflation.
funny, i punched in the numbers from the wiki pages last night and got a much higher number of course that includes international box offices as well, but give it a few years and it will truly be #1
[sp] the apple store product placement was really weird. I didn't know apple did that sort of thing [/sp] [editline]9th April 2014[/editline] Also, can people please shut the hell up when Stan Lee does his cameo? He's done it 9 times already we know who the fuck he is
i loved the huge *gasp* i heard in the theater on the reveal of winter soldier

Is this Ultron guy in the next Avengers film an Earth villain like Red Skull or Space Villain like (Marvel)Loki?

The soundtrack is so damn intense for CA2, I love it.
One thing I liked about Cap 2 is that it was able to make Cap not a bland character anymore
Did anyone else get a huge gasp in their theater when the Winter Soldier took his mask off? I really don't get it, 'cause if I didn't know who he was going in, I sure as hell wouldn't have been able to recognize the actor from that.
Not even a little bit, there was just silence. I was still in happy-shock from the fight scene
I didn't hear any gasps, per se, but there was one girl in the row behind me who went "oh no, that's [sp]his [Captain America's] best friend[/sp]!"
