Thor 2 kinda, except the part that it might pave the way for the Ragnarok cycle. Especially if they bring in Amora, Hel, Surtur and maybe some of Loki's offspring.
The last two Iron Man films do feel like filler, though. Tony getting a new arc reator, then taking the shrapnel out 2 movies later, blowing up his suits when we know he has a Hulkbuster suit for AOU, extremis haven't really affected the MCU either.
they weren't filler for their own movie series
thor 2 yeah, but im3 had plenty of character development for tony. just because they're a buildup to the avengers, it doesn't mean they don't work as their own thing
I just want Hank Pym and Wasp, and for Gambit to appear for realsies in a Marvel film.

I really hope wasp has a part in the Ant-Man film
say what you want about iron man 3 but it wasnt a filler just bc "no not real mandarin!!!"
And Marvel replied to all those people hating Iron Man 3's Mandarin with the All Hail the king One-Shot, showing that the real Mandarin does exist.

That is an extremely cheap move, but what the hell. I'll guess I'll roll with it.

Uhh not really? It actually makes perfect sense within the context of Killians anonymous villain-story, when you have watched Iron Man 3 and then All hail the king. It was a pretty good move by Marvel.
the avengers is just filler for the upcoming hulk movie.

One of the main selling points of Iron Man 3 was the supposed crysis motive they supposedly gave the film: Tony Stark was set to meet his greatest nemesis every, suffer a major loss and then rise up once again. We all know how that turned out
[sp](Made even worse by the facts that:
a. Aldrich Killian is actually a pretty decent character in the comics, not that villainous and ultimately regrets the invention of Extremis. Making him the main antagonist of the movie, and the Mandarin to boot, was a very idiotic move writing-wise. And it shows. Dear lord, IT SHOWS.
b. The whole Mandarin reveal is not interesting nor funny, but quite pathetic
c. If the real Mandarin is really out there and given his character, one has to wonder why the hell he doesn't intervene to shut down the pretenders)[/sp]
So they either realized the terrible mistakes they made with the Mandarin in Iron Man 3 and are attempting to retcon the whole thing or they really need to get better writers

Today was the first day of shooting "Age Of Ultron" when all of the Avengers we reassembled! Awesome sight! @Marvel
Let's not get started on IM3, it's my most hated Marvel movie since IM2 and I don't want a blood rage rant about how bad it is

I thought Iron Man 2 was absolutely awful, rushed and it didn't know what it tried to be.
I enjoyed IM3 much more.
I think all hail the king was shot at the same time as IM3, considering how they still had ben kingsley, and he had a crapload of movies last year
It's funny how everyone's favorite Avenger always seems to be Iron Man, yet his movies (barring the first, of course) are easily the worst of the lot.
Just shows how charismatic RDJ is.
My personal ranking would probably be:
Avengers = Winter Soldier > Iron Man = Captain America > Thor = Thor 2 > Incredible Hulk > Iron Man 2 = Iron Man 3

I liked IM2's less is more approach. The plot was simple, the characters had solid motivations, and great performances by Sam Rockwell and Mickey Rourke. IM3 was ridiculous garbage. Replaced ACDC music with a stark voice over narration and introduced way too much outlandish crap. gtfo of here with that.

Pym particles
Iron Man 2 had my personal favorite moment out of all three films though.

ACDC goes really well with Stark, hope they continue that trend in Age of Ultron.
There's a deleted scene for that too

the trend has already been broken with IM3. just one of many problems with that film.

btw i looked this up.. according to Kingsley it was filmed in October 2013.
so seems to me, IM3 was them thinking they were clever by doing something different with mandarin.. then after fan reaction and realizing their mistake, they made All Hail the King.
Captain America 2 was the best Metal Gear Solid movie I've ever seen
I liked iron man 3, and I didn't mind that the mandarin was revealed to be fake/killian
Iron Man 3 was one of my favorites
Probably because Don Cheadle as the Iron Patriot is adorable

Joss talks Age of Ultron
Age Of Ultron, of course, involves a certain criss-crossing of villainy. Baron Wolfgang von Strucker (Thomas Kretschmann), Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and the Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) are all on hand to ramp up the menace levels for the Avengers, with James Spader's Ultron delivering megalomania galore. For Whedon, though, each character has a carefully designed place in the story; none is superfluous or there as fan bait. "I fiercely dislike the idea of just throwing in more people for the sake of doing that," he stressed. "But last time I had all of Earth's Mightiest Heroes versus one British character actor, and I needed more conflict."
So what of his uber-bad, then? "I'm having a blast with Ultron," Whedon said. "He's not a creature of logic - he's a robot who's genuinely disturbed. We're finding out what makes him menacing and at the same time endearing and funny and strange and unexpected, and everything a robot never is."
It's certainly a departure for a Marvel character who probably wouldn't list a 'GSOH' on his dating profile. Then again, we think he might scare potential Mrs Ultrons away anyway, what with the daddy issues and the pathological hatred of humanity.
As for the movie's UK locations, Whedon explained how he plans to use them to give his sequel a fresh aesthetic. "The number of different looks and textures and moods we're getting from the British locations is stupid awesome", he enthused, "because this, palette-wise, is very different. I'm trying to make a different film. Because why would you make one movie twice? That seems weird."
Kevin Fiege has confirmed an actor has been cast for Thanos, but is not sure when it will be announced.
