I'm glad Marvel have gone with "Captain Marvel" and not "Ms Marvel" for the film title. It would've been to easy to stand aside and say "LOOK THIS IS OUR FILM WITH A WOMAN IN IT" and slap "Ms" on the title.

Some years ago the script was finished and it was allegedly cast. Actors even saying they were in it if I remember correctly.
Then Avengers was thrown into production and became huge and plans got shafted. Surprised it's quiet as Whedon wrote for it.

This conference was the original plan for SDCC, but plans fell through then, so they gave it a separate event.
Confirmed that infinity War was planned to be two movies, instead of the usual way where they take an original source and split it.

Don't think of it as Avengers 3 split into two parts. The films don't have numbers. Think of it as Avengers 3 and Avengers 4 which follow a tight arc.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say the preview confirms that Avengers + GotG will meet up for Avengers 3.
Perhaps they try and fight Thanos each seperately, but in part two they group up to fight him.
