It's Official: Cumberbatch is Dr. Strange
i wouldnt say he has the looks for it but i suppose the voice and attitude are almost exactly what i'd expect
After seeing him on August: Osage County, I just can't see Cumberbatch being Doctor Strange.
He doesn't look like it, and looks play a large part into being a cocky doctor, and I just don't see it.
I wish they went with one of the other rumored choices.
I think cocky roles and intelligent roles are at one point what he was at risk of falling into typecast of.
There's that one episode of Sherlock where he briefly pretends to be a hapless guy and it comes in complete contrast of the arrogant and emotionless Sherlock. I think it shows he has a great range as an actor which just isn't explored enough.

He gets a lot of unnecessary hate. I'm actually really looking forward to this.
He'll do a fine job, but he was definitely the most boring choice.
Like, of course Bimbamble Crumblesnitch is up for the part of Dr. Strange.
I'm okay with this so long as he straightens his hair and grows a beard.
Toss some salt and pepper in that shit while he's at it.
He needs the beard, I'm sure he can pull it off.

Yeah, that was exactly my feelings on the subject.
It's the most obvious choice in the book.
I just watched All Hail The King. The twist at the end about [sp]the Mandarin actually being real[/sp] is canon, right? Did they talk about that in some interview somewhere or something?

It's an official short, hence it is canon.
I can't wait for them to do absolutely nothing with this.
Good news! You don't have to wait!

whaaaat?
I'm quite doubtful RDJR's contract goes beyond what has been announced.
So I guess Stark against Real Mandarin could never happen now. Though I imagine when he gives up the armour they'll draft in somebody new eventually.

It would be awesome if the little kid from IM3 would become the next Iron Man when he's older. He was pretty cool.
I'd love it if Avengers 3 just opened with them fighting the fucking Mandarin.
Space rings and all, just to hammer home "this earthly motherfucker ain't nothing compared to what's coming".
No context, maybe have a comic series that leads up to it, but open it like it's the climax of a movie we haven't seen. It makes the world feel way bigger, like the Avengers have been dealing with this kinda shit all the time since the last movie.
Need proof that this kinda thing works, go watch the opening of Star Wars.
Depending on Cap 3, I feel like Avengers 3 is going to start off with the avengers split on views because of the Civil War.
The title is called the "Infinity Wars" which most likely deals with the gems, but I don't think the Avengers are going to be buddy buddy at the start of the third Avengers. I even think this split view between the members could possibly have it to where the avengers try taking on thanos/minions/etc as split groups without team work.
After they realize that won't work at the end of part 1 and are defeated, they'll probably reform the Avengers with a lot more members to take on Thanos in the final battle.
At least that's what I think.
I remember being in a /co/ thread where everyone speculating scenes we'd love to see in Avengers 3.
I had the idea that Banner should end up with the Gauntlet at some point.
Naturally, he'd want to make a world where he never had to deal with the Hulk.
He sees what life would be like; he married Betty and Ross wasn't after him, but now the Battle of New York had a much more grim outcome.
Most notable of the casualties was Tony Stark, who fell to his death after redirecting the nuke.
Banner realizes that, by undoing the Hulk, he doomed his best friend (and a bunch of innocent people).
He sadly sets things right and removes the Gauntlet.
Oh, and the entire thing is done silently while The Lonely Man plays.

He should just appear as himself and simply join the Avengers. Because he's the motherfucking Al Pacino, that's why. No superpower except screaming and funny talking and extreme facial expressions. And making every villain his bitch. Because he's the motherfucking Al Pacino.

it was already announced by disney that they were not beyond recasting, they said tony stark was basically a james bond type of role
so in one of our alternate universes we have a black tony stark and a white james rhoadie.
So the Sony hack revealed some interesting things about everyone's favorite web slinger.
Let me paste the most interesting part:
As it turns out, those rumors about Sony possibly returning or lending Spider-Man to Marvel weren’t that far off. In one email, Sony’s motion picture chief Amy Pascal says Marvel Studios wanted to include Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War. In another, Sony Pictures president Doug Belgrad discusses the potential for a new Spider-Man trilogy produced by Marvel, with creative control remaining with Sony.
Oh well. They should have agreed to it after Amazing Spider-Man 2's nonsense
I liked Amazing Spiderman 2 and even I think that they should've dealed. Amazing Spiderman is fun and all but it's hardly universe supporting. Outside the Marvel universe it won't live nearly as long
I think people were a bit too harsh on TAS2 but it's a fact that if Marvel got him back it would be beyond awesome. Not gonna happen though.
As much as I'd like it to I don't think the Hulkbuster can beat Hulk. Has it ever beaten Hulk?
Anything Tony ever built called _____Buster has never worked. Every one except the Thorbuster armour lasted about 10 seconds.

Normally there're squads of them and they slow him down before General Ross shouts "You're such a wanker Bruce, seriously, stay away from my daughter" and then they get destroyed.

Yeah, I dont know why they keep pushing the buster suits in the comic. Obviously they're not gonna have tony stark do something better than other star characters. We all know this.

Excellent.
Whedon is fine for goofy colorful stuff that isn't meant to be taken seriously, but the Russos proved that they can inject some seriousness and depth into a superhero film without it becoming Man of Steel.
I would have also been fine with James Gunn, because the team dynamic in Guardians was so perfect, but this is a fine choice as well.

Predictable with how passionately they talk about the universe and how Marvel seems to really bloody love them.
A very good choice too.
