Because if there is they could kill Thor off in the next Avengers and have him fight his way out of the afterlife or whatever in the next solo film. He could run into Malekith along the way. He could also end up meeting Odin, making him realise Loki has replaced Odin in the living world.[/sp]
IMO, Thor should die in Age of Ultron.
Thor 3 finds him fighting his way out of Hel alongside Odin and Beta Ray Bill.

I was told this was during the Civil War. If it wasn't, then I have been lied to and now need to find someone and hurt them.
It was, basically the us government said Thor and all of Asgard that intended to do anything on Earth had to register and of course the answer was "lol, earth, they think they're people".
He later set up a sovereign zone in [i]Oklahoma[/i] that earth governments were forced to recognize as Asgardian territory under his protection. :v:
