So black panther being pushed back past the first infinity war, no time to build his character up, and have him play an important role in Civil War. Really can't wait to see spiderman in Civil war now.
let's just hope they get an actor who can be both peter parker and spider-man for civil war
let's just hope they get an actor who can be both peter parker and spider-man for civil war
Marvel's done a pretty good job at casting so far, I think they'll do good in picking the right person.
So does it mean that Stark is going to have a smaller role in Civil War?

Why would there be a new Spider-man? They're combining the Amazing Universe and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. So Garfield would still be in the role. He signed for more than 2 movies. I always thought despite the misgivings him and Stone were the best things from that universe. Also Dehaan's Harry. It's also worth pointing out that if this deal has been a long time in the making then this picture has relevance

The best bit of this news is we can have Spidey villains in the MCU now. Ock vs Ironman? Green Goblin destroying Valhalla? Symbiote on the Avengers? It's all possible. Also. Kingpin could pop up in Spiderman.
Welcome home, you bastard!
They've stopped mentioning Sinister 6, Venom, female spin-off and all those other spin-offs they were going to announce earlier this year. Could Marvel taking over the production side mean these films have no place? Which could've freed Felicity Jones from her Black Cat contract and is why she's now in Star Wars? It was weird that those films stopped being talked about, then they're not mentioned in the press release at all.
Why would there be a new Spider-man?
Because the leak e-mails stated that Marvel didn't want Garfield. I agree with you on Garfield and Stone being good but Marvel wants a clean slate so nothing gets in the way.

Google wasn't much of a help
I'm reading from a lot of sites that Andrew will no longer be playing him. Oh well, I'm excited to find out their next choice [editline]10th February 2015[/editline] And hehe, perhaps we'll have Venom be part of the on-screen GOTG team roster
I just hope we get to see a good Black Cat. She brings back fond memories for me of the animated series.

Loving the spider man news but on a related note to a earlier discussion, the best Doctor Doom is Joseph Culp
To be fair Garfield and the cast would have aged out of the roles pretty quickly. I want them to cast somebody who looks like he's in highschool out of the mask. His age is a huge part of his character, a school kid who keeps up with the big super heroes and annoys the fuck out everybody. The Rami films had parts right, the Webb films had part rights. They also both totally diverted from the original content in huge ways. Rami was off in character (Parker should not be that nerdy and Spiderman should not be that moody) Webb was off in aesthetic and plot (Other than Peter and Gwen everything was basically original content using Spider-man names). I'm glad it's back at Marvel because they will get it right.
They can somewhat retcon the Amazing Spiderman movies but I hope they ditch Garfield. I guess make Oscorp a Hydra controlled organization and Parker's parents can even be secret SHIELD agents. I wouldn't even mind if they passed the torch somehow and Donald Glover takes over as Miles if they really got rid of Garfield.
I'm disappointed that all of the other movies are getting pushed back - having to wait even longer for Captain Marvel and Inhumans is lame-o. On the other hand... Norman Osborn. Yeeeeaaaaaah.

He's being introduced in a marvel movie, so most likely Civil War, even more reason to look forward to that movie. They just need to find the right person for Spider man/Parker. I don't want some nerd. Garfield was right for the look/feel that parker and spider man should have. But since they don't want them, they should get someone similar to that.
To be fair, many already know Spiderman's origins from all the previous movies. Movie-goers get the gist of it, he doesn't need an origin movie nor even have it go in depth with another hero's movie.

But I still like the idea of spider man being late teens/early twenties, I guess a college student would be more fitting. They can just make a remark about he's been spider man for awhile now. He's the young guy that competes with the older heroes, that also annoys them. Also this means we'll get to see Batman, Superman, Iron Man, Captain America, Spider man, Doctor Strange, and a new X-men movie, all in 2016.
Parker's parents can even be secret SHIELD agents.
hell no, that part with his parents was the most boring and unnecessary thing in tasm2, we don't need more of it

also holy shit this could be a great excuse to bring back jk simmons for j. jonah jameson
I honestly want Maguire back in the Spider-Man role. You have to admit, he did have attitude as Spidey (look at the wrestling match in the first movie), and he was a WAY better Peter Parker than Garfield. Also, Peter's older in Civil War. Mid-20s, I think. Marvel could change that to 30-something for the movie and there you go, Maguire's not too old.
hell no, that part with his parents was the most boring and unnecessary thing in tasm2, we don't need more of it
I don't want more of it either, I'm just saying what they could do if they really plan to integrate those two movies.

"Let's have him go public with his identity" sounds like a huge bombshell for an event like Civil War, but then you gotta make it canon. Hence why One More Day happened; they had to reset shit via devil deal because they wrote themselves into a corner. If Spider-Man is in Civil War, they really need to make it so that he doesn't reveal his identity. Make him a new vigilante who, holy shit, has actual superpowers and nobody knows anything about him. Who he is, what he wants, where he got his powers, all that. He's kinda creepy, wearing a full-face mask and crawling around in the shadows all the time, so no one really knows what to make of him. They say that Cap 3 will focus less on identities and more on who people are working for. "This Spider-Man is a menace, he isn't regulated by SHEILD!" He sides with Tony, takes the mask off for Fury and company, then joins up with Cap. The people who matter know he's Peter Parker, the public is still divided about him.

All the villains know who Spider man is. So they could write Flash/venom to go after aunt may or any other villain to go after his loved ones directly. That would definitely change the story for a new Spider man movie.
I honestly want Maguire back in the Spider-Man role. When I think of Spider man I don't think of some old guy saving people, and It would be good to keep him early/mid 20s because it shows different view points of older superheroes, younger superheroes, etc. Maguire lost his way as being a funny spider man, and eventually became a weird Parker. Winter Soldier name dropped Stephen Strange, so he likely already shown that he had some sort of affinity to magic, unless Hydra some how knew because of the age of miracles. But if the name was so specific, I would assume that it's because he's already known (not just as an easter egg, but for story telling) to Hydra. But he didn't help when aliens invaded NY.
Hence why One More Day happened; they had to reset shit via devil deal because they wrote themselves into a corner.
Which takes real skill, I have to say. You write yourself in a corner and you fix it by making one of the worst stories ever.
