I'm so fucking happy that Spiderman will be in the MCU now, this seems just like a great decision. I'm not so much hugely into MCU as most, i watched Avengers, and i watched Iron Man and Hulk. I enjoyed the original spiderman trilogy and i dont think my time was completely wasted on Amazing Spiderman (Although fuck the Rhino scene and everything about the end to Amazing 2) But i think this is overall a great decision to let spiderman be in the MCU, now if only Fox would allow X-Men. The only gripe i had with Avengers was Hulk uncontrolling his rage, getting pissed off and then getting ejected out of the ship, then coming back 10-15 minutes later like "Lol dw guys i can control it now" Was i missing something or was it just literally that?

Him resisting the change causes Hulk to be uncontrollable.

So for example "Oh shit aliens are invading i better Hulk up and defend" he will be in full control, but if someone beat the shit out of him and it was a situation where he cant control anger/knows he shouldn't be in Hulk mode he wont be able to control the actual actions of Hulk?
To be fair, many already know Spiderman's origins from all the previous movies. Movie-goers get the gist of it, he doesn't need an origin movie nor even have it go in depth with another hero's movie.
They weren't planning on a Black Panther origin. Looks like Ant Man will already have an existing Ant Man who passes on the mantle. Didn't they flat out say they were moving away from Origins? You really don't need a Spider-man origin. Just jump right in with web slinging and wise cracking.

I'm hoping they give us a montage of what Spiderman's been doing since maybe as far back as Iron Man. A quick intro through his origin so we know what's up, and then a musical or monologue montage as he superheroes through the years. Here's Spiderman reacting to "I am Ironman!" Here's Spiderman dealing with Hammer drones in Manhattan! Here's Spiderman freaking out about aliens pouring through a hole in the sky! Here's Spiderman almost making it in time to help with that whole Ultron thing!
Introducing Spider-man in Civil War would be pretty clever really. Because the audience, much like the general public in the MCU, will know little about him. It can be used as a vehicle to introduce him. The audience learns more about his origin, what's he's up to and how dangerous he is at the same time as the characters in the film. Then the first time he reveals himself as Peter Parker it will be equally impactful for the audience as it'll be the first time they see the new Peter in film. I'd rather they not have him reveal his identity though.
Because the audience, much like the general public in the MCU, will know little about him.
5 relatively recent movies, the lowest gross of them being just over 700 million dollars and you're saying the audience will know little about him? Maybe in 2001, before the first Raimi movie came out but now saying the audience will know little about him is just silly. We'll know his back-story, we'll know who he is, with great power comes great responsibility, the works.
http://www.ign.com/articles/2015/02/10/it-cost-marvel-zero-dollars-to-get-spider-man Some tidbits from this that i found interesting.
Marvel isn't paying a dime to Sony for the rights to use Spidey. But the studio won’t receive a cut of the earnings for any of Sony’s Spider-Man films, and Sony won’t get a cut of the Marvel films that feature Spider-Man. (Marvel also controls the merchandising rights to Spidey.)
Looks like its similar to the deals with Hulks film rights. Marvel shouldnt have any reason not to use Spidey villains, like Norman Osborn, in a movie. Sweet.
Amazing Spidey producers Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach have been bumped down to executive producers with "no real say" in the creative direction of the character moving forward. Arad was a key player with both Marvel and Spider-Man for many years, and was a sort of proto-Kevin Feige as Marvel became increasingly immersed in the world of film and TV beginning in the late 1990s.
No more Avi Arad. Good.
One source claims this could be the first step towards a larger plan to reacquire Spider-Man by Marvel, while another speculates that Disney is angling to acquire Sony Pictures entirely if it goes on the market.

Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige will not be compensated for producing Sony's 2017 Spider-Man film.
So I was in the shower, where I do my greatest thinking, and I thought, is the Vice President in Iron Man 3 part of Hydra? What about Killian? Or are they just people with personal desires, and it's incidental?

Good.
Disney acquiring Sony.. hmm judging by the other tidbits of info I wouldn't mind this so they had full control over spider man.
Sony is looking to go back to "Spidey’s roots and put the character back in high school." Sony will have final say over casting for the new Spider-Man, and is said to be looking for an actor much younger than Andrew Garfield, who is 31.
Not sure about this. If spider man is appearing in Civil War, I realistically see a 16 Y/O being portrayed like Spider man from the comics. I'm hoping they eventually go for a college student aged Spider man, at least it would seem more realistic when playing such a huge role in the Civil War.
The Sony Spider-Man spin-offs, for the moment, are still in the works. This includes Sinister Six, Venom and the female Spidey characters film that we've previously heard about. The Amazing Spider-Man 3 is obviously dead, and "while Marvel’s Feige is involved with Sony’s new Spider-Man films, he currently is not expected to be creatively involved with the spinoffs."
Not sure about this either, I think they should wipe the entire slate clean.
I'm hoping they eventually go for a college student aged Spider man, at least it would seem more realistic when playing such a huge role in the Civil War.
Peter Parker was in his 20s during Civil War though. He was a teacher. He was an experienced Spider-Man, that's partly why I want Toby Maguire to play him, but whatever.

They can do so much with the character now that it's a new spider man. 20-25 is the age this spider man should be imo.
Inhumans are at least coming to AoS in a month... Unrelated:
Yeah I still like Ironman better.
“Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios share a love for the characters in the Spider-Man universe and have a long, successful history of working together. This new level of collaboration is the perfect way to take Peter Parker’s story into the future.” No Miles, so unless they change Parker's ethnicity looks like it's the good ole Parker.
I thought everyone would be thrilled to see Uncle Ben murdered for the 3rd time
I thought everyone would be thrilled to see Uncle Ben murdered for the 3rd time
And they said Uncle Ben never comes back
They better end up calling the reboot The Spectacular Spider-Man and have this scene in Civil War. Obviously just replace Reed.
You know, Scarlett Johansson really didn't bug me in Iron Man 2 and Avengers, probably the benefit is being a minor character in either, but she really is the worst part of Captain American 2 and I didn't think about it until people talked about it in that Problem with Action Movies thread. I'll admit I don't know Black Widow from the comics but she just doesn't fit it in CA2.
i thought she was fine [editline]11th February 2015[/editline] i don't like scarlett johansson but she was good in the film

It'd certainly make things easier.

Rumour has it that Logan Lerman (Perks of Being a Wallflower) will be playing Peter.

I see them going possibly younger than those two. Honestly it's annoyed me how quickly Peter has grown up in the movies so far. I'd rather have 2-3 films with him in school before he ages up. They need to get somebody 18-21 who looks younger. An unknown. There's people on Twitter ranting that Spider-Man should "never be in school" and "it's a story that's never been told before for a reason". People arguing he's "Spiderman not spider boy". What? Have they ever read a Spidey comic or cartoon before announcing they're massive fans? These fucking people know nothing about Spider-man. Social media gives idiots a voice. EDIT: Yes Peter was older in the Civil War but I always enjoyed watching him grow up. I'd rather them just have him younger for this version of Civil War than lose that quality. [editline]11th February 2015[/editline] Hugh Jackman doesn't think they'll get Wolverine in the MCU while he's still playing the role.
Is it confirmed that Ultron is made from Chitauri technology?
Rumour has it that Logan Lerman (Perks of Being a Wallflower) will be playing Peter.
But he looks like an 11 year old
http://variety.com/2015/film/news/details-spider-man-appear-in-sony-and-marvel-movies-1201429039/
The studio is still moving forward with the Spider-Man villain-centric “Sinister Six,” and “Venom” spinoff, as well as a film that features female characters in the “Spider-Man” universe. “The Amazing Spider-Man 3″ has been cancelled. While Marvel’s Kevin Feige is involved with Sony’s new “Spider-Man” films, he is currently not expected to be creatively involved with the spinoffs, sources say.
noooooooooo Hopefully Sony comes crying to Feige immediately after their first bomb again, otherwise a string of horrible spin off films will become canon in the MCU.
