yeah man heath ledger will never be a good joker [editline]18th February 2015[/editline] cue people going "THAT WAS A DIFFERENT SITUATION!!111!"
Granted it's yet to be proven, but why hold out hope for someone whose last superhero film was garbage? He's not even a decent actor, what are you expecting?
Granted it's yet to be proven, but why hold out hope for someone whose last superhero film was garbage? He's not even a decent actor, why are you expecting?
Uh, Ben Afleck is a pretty good actor. Gone Girl, The Town, Argo.
yeah man heath ledger will never be a good joker [editline]18th February 2015[/editline] cue people going "THAT WAS A DIFFERENT SITUATION!!111!"
the main difference is Heath was a great actor Affleck is not
I don't get where "Ben Affleck is a bad actor" comes from at all. Even in really shit films like Daredevil he was still doing a good job. Yeah he doesn't do crazy fucking roles or modify his appearance in massive ways for them, but that doesn't necessarily make you a good actor. Every role he's played he's dialed it down and brought it closer to him, he's been believable in everything he's done from Good Will Hunting to Gone Girl. You're not aware you're watching a performance, it feels totally natural. He knows Batman really well too and is a massive DC fan. I think casting on these movies is the only thing I'm confident in. Yeah even Jesse Eisenberg. Because they're unexpected. More often than not those unexpected casting choices end up being the best possible choices. Downey Jr as Stark, Ledger as Joker and Ruffalo as Hulk got a lot of negative response. It's easy to look back with hindsight and go "obviously Ledger was good for the role man, he could do...", but at the time it was "a gay cowboy rom-com actor is gonna fuck it all up". It was really abusive until he died and press materials slowly started dripping out. People forget how venomous the internet was when Ruffalo became Banner. You search Bruce Banner on google and it's Mark Ruffalo who pops up in all the images. Yet at the time there was such a massive backlash because people thought Ed Norton was irreplaceable and Ruffalo was totally the wrong look, style and level of talent. He recently said in an interview how upsetting it was to go online because people were "not glowing, to say the least". Yet he turned out to be the highlight of The Avengers and is now everybodies ultimate Hulk. Now people are saying the exact same of Affleck, the situation is no different.

Enough with the Ben Affleck, this is a Marvel thread, dammit! :v:

I hope this mean we can get an Uber violent punisher series
I hope this mean we can get an Uber violent punisher series
Imagine if Marvel Studios starts a subdivision called Marvel Knights. And then we get HBO series of Punisher and Moon Knight and Ghost Rider, with occasional cameos from Spider-Man, Luke Cage, Daredevil, and all of them. And the Punisher series opens with him driving a semi truck into the Winter Soldier.
it already exists they're responsible for these atrocities http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Punisher:_War_Zone http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghost_Rider:_Spirit_of_Vengeance
Punisher movies haven't been of the same quality as the other, recent Marvel movies. They're good, but no where close to Ironman or Captain America or Avengers.
we'll forget that there was a punisher movie other than the thomas jane punisher. because that one was awesome as shit and is one of the best marvel movies.
There was the independent Punisher short film which he reprised
I highly recommend listening to Graphic Audio's audiobooks of Marvel They're sooo good
Speaking of all the Punisher buzz, apparently this was a thing: http://perezhilton.com/2014-09-15-marvel-captain-america-the-winter-soldier-punisher-movie-easter-egg#.VOXkgYwQ6Uk Punisher confirmed?

I just read Punisher Kills the Marvel Universe Holy shit Is there any more crazy shit like this?
I just read Punisher Kills the Marvel Universe Holy shit Is there any more crazy shit like this?
There's the Deadpool Killogy. Basically, an experiment backfires and we get a pretty dark Deadpool going to kill everyone in the Marvel universe he finds. Then he goes to murder literary characters that inspired Marvel characters (don't ask), followed by an entire universe of Deadpools. Yeah, the last part is wacky insane fun Deadpool but the first 2 parts are just unpleasant, considering the Deadpool we know and love. Hell, even the last part has its moments.
I don't know where this optimism is coming from
[editline]20th February 2015[/editline] also even if you want to say affleck is not a good actor, i doubt the batman they're going for will be a demanding role
2 oscars? amateur.
Those are technical/creative awards anyway. He's best behind the camera
we'll forget that there was a punisher movie other than the thomas jane punisher. because that one was awesome as shit and is one of the best marvel movies.
Thomas Jane better reprise The Punisher. Like, the dude just fits so well. Also that voice. Punisher War Zone is a guilty pleasure of mine though. Its so fucking over the top i cant help but love it.
Finally got around to watching Iron Man 3 last night and it pains me to say it sucks a bit. Honestly, I blame a good chunk of it on the MK42 suit. Pretty much literally all it does is cause plot holes. Also,[sp]the clean slate protocol,[/sp]what the actual hell was that for?
Also, the clean slate protocol, what the actual hell was that for?
I don't see how a self-destruct mechanism in a piece of advanced technology people are desperate to get hold of for their own gain is a farfetched idea.
Also,[sp]the clean slate protocol,[/sp]what the actual hell was that for?
Something he implemented beforehand to give more time to Pepper. [sp]Or maybe he is so smart its already in case some evil AI voiced by James Spader took over?[/sp] :v:
Like what?
[sp]He threatens a terrorist who's performed a few bombings already and the suit he chooses to keep at his disposal is the one he admits isn't combat ready yet and has to be told by Jarvis that the flight system is still being worked on. The same suit that almost attacked Pepper.[/sp]
I don't see how a self-destruct mechanism in a piece of advanced technology people are desperate to get hold of for their own gain is a farfetched idea.
It's not that it's a far-fetched idea, it's the fact that[sp]he uses it for no reason.[/sp]
[sp]He threatens a terrorist who's performed a few bombings already and the suit he chooses to keep at his disposal is the one he admits isn't combat ready yet and has to be told by Jarvis that the flight system is still being worked on. The same suit that almost attacked Pepper.[/sp]
The suit attacked Pepper because it's connected to Tony's mind and he was having a bad dream, not of the suit's own volition He uses the 42 because it's the only one with the modular capabilities, plus it was the one that was closest to hand, and for most of the film is the only he has access to because he's hundreds of miles away from the rest, and they're all buried under a pile of rubble.
It's not that it's a far-fetched idea, it's the fact that[sp]he uses it for no reason.[/sp]
He uses the Clean Slate Protocol because the suits were holding him back, He was using them as a shield from his own insecurities rather than dealing with them head on. He destroys them because he came to terms with who he is, it's the whole point of the speech he gives at the end. Besides, most of the suits were terrible because he put 34 of them together on a whim in 6 months rather than focus on one good all round suit, and most of them were severely damaged (those that weren't already destroyed), so it would be easier to start over than repairing them all.
that's why we're getting a proper hulkbuster in aou as opposed to the heavy lifting semi-hulkbuster we saw do absolutely nothing in im3
