I'm more than willing to work out. Cause my biggest goal isn't just getting skinny, it's getting fit. Because in the end the ultimate goal is girls.
I'm not sure about this. To gain muscle, you should be exercising and eating ABOVE your calorie goal. you're already fat though, so I'm not sure if you can build muscle and eat at a calorie deficit.
it helps a lot and it's great the method of losing weight that you're mentioning is a great way to lose a little bit of weight over a long period of time if you enjoy instant gratification like OP, you'll probably be a lot happier going the more difficult albiet more rewarding route and making an effort to actually lose some weight
It's not more rewarding though. Your body can't really burn more than 2-3lbs of fat per week, this can be achieved through a ketogenic diet without even exercising. Any more weight than that is more than likely your body going into starvation mode and eating away both your muscles and fats.
Terrible motivation. Looking at your disgusting fat ass in the mirror should be what motivates you to lift weights and eat right.
That's just the initial reaction, but looking at yourself and seeing 170 lbs is restricting you from a lot of things, especially women.
Terrible motivation. Looking at your disgusting fat ass in the mirror should be what motivates you to lift weights and eat right.
Oh c'mon, women are great motivation.
Y But what I don't understand is how that 2000 (300 more than I need) is making me fat.
durr hurrdurrrrrrrr 1lb of fat is equivalent to 3500 calories. Eating too much (like you do) over a long period of time adds up. Get your shit together.
Yes you lose weight from every muscle movement, just you breathing and your heart pumping is making you lose weight. But what I don't understand is how that 2000 (300 more than I need) is making me fat.
Because you're not active enough and your metabolism is too high. The sum of all of the chemical reactions in your body require less energy than what you're intaking, thus, your body is storing away the excess as fat if you exercised more and/or ate less, you would use more energy than you are taking in, and would then begin to lose weight

But what I don't understand is how that 2000 (300 more than I need) is making me fat.
again, you never said if the one you posted was to keep your current weight, lose, or gain. I'll assume keep. anything above that would be extra calories you don't need. calories = energy. extra energy gets saved as fat.
Just so you know, BMI is not very accurate. Everyone's body type is different, with different bone densities and what not. You might be surprised, but wheat and grain products that normally contain carbs are not good for you. Protein, fruit and veg are the best way to go.

Oh wait... and no, maybe you should poke your head into the weightlifting thread sometime. (Plus I'm trying to gain weight, not lose weight right now) [editline]30th November 2010[/editline]
You might be surprised, but wheat and grain products that normally contain carbs are not good for you. "diets" and "crash diets" are not the same thing. a "diet" is just what you eat every day. a calorie deficit isn't a "crash diet" either. it's "eating right" but eating less as well. calorie deficits work, crash diets do not.

Reminds me of that episode of family guy where peter has sex with a large bag of liposucked fat.
I've been chubby since the day I was born, I was a big baby when i was born, and I always had a belly, but it's gotten worse, is there anyway I can lose that?
eat right and exercise. There's nothing else that you should be considering.
Its cause you're not burning more calories than you're eating. Drop the hot pocket and go do some laps, fat ass.
A proper diet is integral to weight loss. Eating small is one thing, but you have to make sure you're eating right. If what you posted in the OP is indicative of your average diet, it sounds like the majority of your diet is carbs, and that you're basically neglecting proteins. It varies from person to person, but the ratio I try to maintain is for 45% of my daily intake to be protein, 35% to be carbs, and 25% to be healthy fats. Keep in mind that I'm trying to gain muscle weight, so your protein and carb intake may be a little bit more balanced. Firstly, you need to determine your caloric needs using a Caloric Intake Calculator Thingy. Once you've done that, you'll want to monitor your diet to make sure that you're pulling in an appropriate amount of carbs, protein, and fat. A great website for this is Fitday.com, which allows you to keep a food journal and gives you all sorts of handy graphs and readouts for monitoring your progress. It's free, of course. No diet is complete without exercise. You don't have to go ridiculously overboard, but you do have to be active. Take an hour a day to go for a walk. In an hour with a steady pace, you can easily make three or four miles, and if you do that everyday you'll give your body the jump it needs to start losing weight. Know this: your body does NOT want to change! You will not immediately see results, because your body will fight the changes. It wants to remain how it is, because it feels safe and comfortable with itself, even if your mind does not! But if you keep at it the changes will start happening, and once you can jump that first hurdle, your body will begin helping you with the rest, and you'll start progressing quicker and with more ease. And once you reach your goal and settle in, your body will do the same thing it's doing now--trying to maintain that state! Once you get where you want to be, physically, it's much easier to maintain it. Getting there is the hard part, but luckily for you, all you want to do is lose weight! Losing weight is easy, my man. But don't just take my word for it. Go to the local gym and ask to speak with a trainer. Most of them will give you a free consultation if all you're asking for is diet advice. Good luck, mate. Edit Oh yeah, one more thing: it may be hard to meet your RDA's for vitamins and whatnot if you're on a diet, so I would really recommend heading to a nearby health store and picking up some vitamin supplements. I'm not talking protein shakes and shit, just some vitamin pills to help keep you balanced and healthy.
ah yes, I have seen you in the weightlifting thread. it is hard to believe you are the same person that has wrote about working hard weightlifting every day when you go and post things like "herp derp losing weight is easy, its a merical! all you have to do is sit around and eat healthy foods and let your body do the rest!!!" ask anybody, including myself, who has transitioned from much overweight to very thin, and you will find that exercise is key, you cannot simply rely on calories burned regularly without the supplement of exercise to be greater than what you are ingesting unless you're eating a very small diet weight loss is not the merical you are making it out to be
I've been chubby since the day I was born, I was a big baby when i was born, and I always had a belly, but it's gotten worse, is there anyway I can lose that?
calorie deficit. on the site i linked you to earlier (thedailyplate.com), there was a drop down menu. it defaults to "maintain weight". I assume you never saw it, or you wouldn't be asking this. set it to lose 1 pound or 2 pounds a week. eat that many calories. be sure to check your goal as you lose more weight.
Its cause you're not burning more calories than you're eating. Drop the hot pocket and go do some laps, fat ass.
Where the hell is the bad reading button?
Let me just starting off mentioning my eating habits. Today I ate Mini-wheat(Small kind, usually I eat corn bran) with some milk for breakfast Then 3 hours later, I have a cheese and ham sandwich, only 1 slice of ham per half. an apple, and about 1/6 bag of crackers. And a Banana. Then at dinner, I have some rice with some stir fried. This is basically what an average intake of food is for me, that's IT! Yet my BMI is 28!!! I'm one point away from being obese! WHAT THE FUCK? And I keep gaining, I eat a lot of junk in the summer, but I haven't since eaten like that, and my weight just keeps climbing up higher and higher! I do 80 minutes of phys ed a day as well, excluding weekends. What the fuck is wrong with me? This shit doesn't happen. Not to mention, my family is not well off, we can't afford all this extra junk food, we don't have any, but my weight is still SKYROCKETING And I don't want to keep this, I want to loose the weight.
Some people are born with a low matabolism, I guess you could try being more active or take some sort chemical/hormone treatment. I'm not very educated in this particular area but I guess your going to have to get used to it.

(Look up ketogenic diets if you're not familiar with them)
Eating bad food and then doing an hour and a bit of PE at your elementary school isn't going to get you fit, kiddo.
Eating little makes your body think there's a famine and makes it store fat whenever it can to help you through it. Eat more.
Eww having sex with fat sounds like it's disgusting. Why are you fucking fat? :downsrim:
How old are you OP?
I know exercise is important, but explain to me how someone who is eating at say a 300 calorie deficit on a ketogenic diet would not lose fat at a rate of 2-3lbs per week. (Look up ketogenic diets if you're not familiar with them)
you're correct, they WOULD lose weight. Regular bodily function would yield more energy burnt then what is ingested however, you could easily put yourself on a 1500 to 2000 calorie daily diet, and with the rigorous exercise of a high intensity sport such as football, track, cross country, or swimming (my favorite), you could easily burn it all of and excess i.e. the latter would be more of a comfortable lifestyle, and you would also accomplish something in addition, or even find something you like to do, like i have with swimming
How do you lose 2lbs a week with only a 300calorie deficit?
Lack of carbs, keto is fuckin magic.
also, let it be known that i have a very low metabolism, and in spite of my 2000 calorie daily diet, as a senior, i only weigh about 140 lbs
