Actually that's the exact wrong thing to do. Don't graze. If you eat at meals, it is healthier because it's at a set time, when you graze, it your body doesn't know when you are going to eat food next, so stores it as fat. Also, make sure to eat breakfast to kick start your metabolism, drink lots of water, and get plenty of sleep.
That's what I do unfortunately, I'm gaining fat but I just don't care at the moment :smith:
Some people are born with a low matabolism, I guess you could try being more active or take some sort chemical/hormone treatment. I'm not very educated in this particular area but I guess your going to have to get used to it.
Again, you don't need to do shit to your metabolism, just work with it. Find how many calories you have to eat to not gain weight. In fact, your metabolism IS how many calories you burn in a day. "BMR" = "basal metabolic rate" = metabolism.
http://www.webmd.com/diet/healthtool-metabolism-calculator same shit as thedailyplate.com, except it doesn't do the math to show you how many calories you need to lose weight.
Eating little makes your body think there's a famine and makes it store fat whenever it can to help you through it.
Eat more.
This is partially true, a better way to put it is eat the same amount of food, but eat them in smaller and more regular portions.
don't drink cow's milk it's awful for you
ah yes, I have seen you in the weightlifting thread. it is hard to believe you are the same person that has wrote about working hard weightlifting every day when you go and post things like "herp derp losing weight is easy, its a merical! all you have to do is sit around and eat healthy foods and let your body do the rest!!!"
ask anybody, including myself, who has transitioned from much overweight to very thin, and you will find that exercise is key, you cannot simply rely on calories burned regularly without the supplement of exercise to be greater than what you are ingesting unless you're eating a very small diet
weight loss is not the merical you are making it out to be
Losing weight is relatively easy. Yeah, you have to do some exercise, but it's not like you need to run a marathon every other day. Walking four or five miles a day and eating right is a fine plan for comfortable and controlled weight loss.
Here is the secret to losing weight. Eat smaller meals but eat them more often, and go for a walk every day.
i run 2-3 miles a day and swim several more, and yet, i eat as unhealthily as i want (not unhealthy per se, but not healthy if you're looking to lose weight) and maintain a light weight
all i'm saying, is if you want your lifestyle to remain the same as it is now with the addition of some sport of physical activity, you should probably exercise more than eat
if you want slower results, but don't want to play a sport or engage in physical activity, feel free to cut down on the calories
or do both, that would be ok
I'm only eating healthy right now because I'm trying to cut my bodyfat down to like 6-7% during this short period of time when I'm in too shitty of a financial situation to afford to bulk.
As soon as I'm done with that though it's back to fast food all the time and lifting weights like fuck.
Here is the secret to losing weight. Eat smaller meals but eat them more often, and go for a walk every day.
That depends. Different metabolic types do better with different meal times. For instance, some people experience much better results if they eat many small meals, while others do better with a few large ones.
To determine your metabolic type, check THIS website out.
edit
Bah, nevermind, don't use that website. They want you to pay, because they're fucks. Google search "determining your metabolic type" for more information. My internet's running slow as shit right now, or I'd try to find a better source for you.
Terrible motivation.
Looking at your disgusting fat ass in the mirror should be what motivates you to lift weights and eat right.
Lifting weights isn't great for losing weight, it's for gaining muscles.
Do aerobic exercises like running and swimming to burn calories.
For example, don't drive or take the bus. Ride your bike everywhere you go.
Wake up earlier in the morning and jog as many miles as you can.
Girls like guys that put effort to change themselves, so trying to lose weight in itself will make you more attractive (maybe, you might just be really ugly).
Find somebody to exercise with, it'll help you stay on track.
80 minutes of PE won't cut it, find a real exercise plan and stick with it.
if only everyone could be one of the lucky bastards with ridiculous metabolism who can eat shit food and sit on their ass and continue to look like they just left a concentration camp

Disagreed because your answer is vague. If this was the only post in the thread, OP probably would've eaten the same amount of food, just in smaller sizes.

common misconception ahoy

Fast metabolisms aren't that great. I ate about an hour ago and now I'm crazy hungry again.

Except it's not a common misconception. You do burn calories while doing resistance exercises, but cardio is much more efficient.

Thats the whole point
i ate an hour ago and i'm crazy hungry too, except i have a high metabolism :v:
heh probably gonna drink some sprite and eat some potato chips
as much as i respect my coach and the advice she gives me, i find it funny that i continue to drink soda and eat unhealthy foods like chips and fast/fried foods as well as junk and snack foods in abundance, and yet, im the lightest senior on the whole swim team

Source please, working hard as fuck on compound lifts is more than likely going to burn more than fucking walking.
common misconception ahoy
Is this not right(?):
Weightlifting burns assloads of calories, but people who are actively trying to bulk up usually eat a large surplus in order to fuel the repairs of their muscle tissue, and so some unhealthy weight gain (fat) can be pretty typical. It's proper to spend a period focusing on bulking, and then to compensate for the added fat by switching to a short period of higher cardio and lifting sessions utilizing higher reps but with less weight.
i ate an hour ago and i'm crazy hungry too, except i have a high metabolism :v:
also, let it be known that i have a very low metabolism, and in spite of my 2000 calorie daily diet, as a senior, i only weigh about 140 lbs
Huh
Listen to the people talking about 5 meals and exercising. I started a diet 2 months ago doing just that and I have lost 20 lbs., I went from 190 to 170. No loss of muscle mass, no starving, no loss of strength. I'm going to keep going until I reach 160.
Only downside is that losing that quickly doesn't allow any mass or strength gains. Meh.

This is somewhat true, though your body will make repairs just fine with adequate amounts of protein, and switching to high reps low weight during cutting cycles is actually a bad thing (as far as maintaining strength goes). Cardio does help but is unnecessary.

With as active you are, I'm not terribly surprised. Swimming is some of the best cardio out there, and if you're regularly running on top of that, then weight loss seems inevitable.
Hell, I wish I could go out and do that kind of stuff. My heart's gone bum, so the most strenuous cardio I can manage is a fast walk.
My heart's gone bum, so the most strenuous cardio I can manage is a fast walk.
That sucks man
Just remember, weight loss is attainable. I lost over forty pounds when I went to basic training. I went in at 220 lbs, came out at about 175 lbs, and have since balanced out at around 185 lbs.
For reference, I'm 6'5", so I'm still pretty damn skinny.
Oh and that heart rating was not meant as an ironic punny stab at your shitty heart.
just making sure we're clear.
I don't know why you're fucking fat but I hope you're using protection.
I tried for 3 years to try and lose weight and I did, I went from 6'0 229 lbs to 6'2 at just over 200 and it didn't fucking help, I'm still flabby, I don't feel any healthier, I still hate exercise, my diet is a lot better and I don't care, and I honestly feel that it was a waste of time, money, and effort. If I require more dedication or willpower or something fuck that, I'm glad I care more about school and studying than working out all day.
[editline]29th November 2010[/editline]
My gym pass expired and I'm not going to renew that shit I'm done, if I gain weight again so be it.
Source please, working hard as fuck on compound lifts is more than likely going to burn more than fucking walking.
It's not fair to compare lifting hard to walking.
Swimming and running would be more comparable. A bonus for cardio is you don't need to rest in between reps. Wasted time is wasted effort.
I weigh 115, and I'm 5' 9". :c
You guys have it all.

vigorous weight training is essentially cardio and weightlifting smashed into one. And it burns a butt load of calories.
