• How can I tell when I'm dreaming and when I'm awake

Although it's hardly a good source ( since it's all speculation anyways ): http://www.dreamsleep.net/mirror-dream.html

That'd be trippy if you had a dream you had a nightmare then you woke up but you were still dreaming and you woke up again and posted on Facepunch about your previous two dreams then you realize that you're still dreaming. And.
^that site->roflmao
The general consensus from some quick googling indicates that it's an identity crisis thing, although they seem to be dreams of looking into mirrors, not looking into mirrors while dreaming. I do agree it's funny site, though.
I really wish that I could remember my dreams, I literally have no recollection of any dreams at all.
The only time I saw something demonic in a mirror was when I was lucid. My eyes were solid black and demonic. I thought it was pretty cool.
I'm no dream interpreter but that sounds like a bad experience with yourself, family or friends. Has anyone in your family ever had amputation surgery, burned in a fire or what not? If not, this is probably from a horror movie you watched, or for going on 4chan. :v: This could also be your mind telling you something bad is going to happen in the future. I'd keep a look out.
Dreams aren't there for interpretation.
This could also be your mind telling you something bad is going to happen in the future. I'd keep a look out.
Nope.
I've never had a dream since my appendix was removed back when I was like 6 or some age near that age, its like a prolonged blink, I also have massive memory problems and can't seem to remember anything neyond 2 years ago. I have also never experienced sleep paralysis. Anyway relating to the thread, I can think the only way to be able for you to tell is try and think an object into existence, if this object does appear then obviously you are dreaming (or you are in the matrix), if not most likely you are awake.
If you are a lucid dreamer, look into a mirror and most likely something good or bad will pop up if you are dreaming
Press your tounge against your front teeth, if you are dreaming your tounge will go through.
I had a dream like this once, now that i think about it, it may have been my first and only unwilling lucid dream. Basically i was eating something (didn't taste it iirc :o) and suddenly i lost one of my teeth...It just fell out. I'm like wtf? So i touch my tongue to each of my teeth, and each one, with just a lil bit of pressure, popped out of my gums until i had no teeth left, then i woke up D: I thought it was real and instantly sat up and touched my mouth to make sure they were all still there [editline]08:17PM[/editline]
Nope.
Really? Cause I've had dreams like this before. Example: I dreamt that i was going to be sitting on the corner of my pontoon boat in the middle of the lake fishing by myself. A week later i found myself sitting right there fishing, floating in the same spot i vividly saw myself in my dream. I know this because after i felt the de-ja-vu(sp?) i looked in this book i keep for dreams i happen to remember, and bam, i had scribbled down that particular dream in the book. So...Explain that.
You cant see color in dreams.
Typically you can have a grasp on your dreams. At least I do, sometimes I can make my dream suddenly end.
I've just woken up because I was laughing so hard. I was laughing because I looked under a table I was sitting at, and saw that there was a person whos foot was a chicken dipper. Oh fuck I laughed hard.
Oh god what is that link I'm scared to click it
When I dream it's almost always in first person, and I can half control it, and half can't. I really want to lucid dream but I haven't mastered reality checking, so I always think the dream is real until my alarm wakes me up. In some dream I had yesterday, I was eating Ice-Cream at some restaurant with some girl I had asked out in the dream in a sea-side town, then I placed an order and suddenly we were eating inside the restaurant in a busy city. Then when our food arrived her parents came and we were having a laugh, and a good time. Then suddenly the restaurant went silent and the girl said I don't think we should go out any more. Then I can't remember what happened after that, but in that dream I had also dreamt doing lots of other stuff with that person.I've never had a dream like this before, and I've heard rejection is a dream is a bad thing. Might be something to do with my last relationship, because also in my dream tonight I walked in on my ex snogging one of my (used to be friends) who she now hangs out with, in my fucking bedroom. :sigh:
Why is it people tell you to do something in your dreams? I never have control over myself in a dream.
You cant see color in dreams.
I can.
If you can breathe, read or feel sharp pain, you're awake. Reason being: (Note, this is just what I've read about, I can't totally verify it, but oh well)

You're used to breathing normally in life, therefore in dreams you ignore the need to breathe and well, don't. So if you're breathing, you're usually awake.
Apparantly you can't read in dreams, and letters / words will just be jumbled up / nonsensical. If you can read, most likely you're awake.
Pain - Self explanatory
Again, I can't verify those are all legit, or they may change from person to person, but they are usually the three most common ways to check if you're asleep or awake.
I do feel pain in my dreams. If I have a falling nightmare I feel the impact and all my bones shattering.
I do feel pain in my dreams. If I have a falling nightmare I feel the impact and all my bones shattering.
That's not good. If you feel pain in your dreams you should go to the hospital.
Sounds like some scary stuff, I had something similar once where I was in a house controlled by a monster that turned out to be my auntie and if I ever got to the end of the "game" as it was she'd rip my head off and I'd reappear where I started to do the whole thing again. Happened for a couple of nights until I noticed the pattern and then I managed to control the dream and overpower her at which point I became the monster and she was the trapped one. It was really weird but fun at the same time.
[sp]http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/spoony_face.png[/sp]
:byodood: On another note, you ARE awake. OR maybe I'M dreaming? D:
Have you ever tripped in a dream? You know, you're strolling along someplace, unaware that you're dreaming when suddenly you trip on a crack in the road or some bullshit and HOLY FUCKING SHIT you like do this twitching thing and spring up out of bed. I HATE that.
If I recall correctly that is called a physical hypnogagic hallucination
Not being able to tell the difference between dream and reality is actually quite bad medical condition. Soon you might go insane and hurt someone, so I would advice checking with a doctor.
If you tell someone "Don't look into a mirror in your dream, you will see demonic shit." of course they will, If you don't tell them, most likely they will just see something odd but not scary. Nobody notices that lightswitches don't turn on in dreams, but once you tell them it doesn't turn on whilst dreaming, it won't. It's all in the head people. Also to get out of bad dreams i just squeeze my eyes shut then BAM instant reality, then for some reason i spend the rest of the night trying to get back to the nightmare because nightmares are fucking awesome.
thing is you probably won't even remember trying to do this while you're dreaming.
Oh god no, looking into mirrors while dreaming is like suicide..
How? I haven't had a dream like that, but I'm curious. Raters gonna dumb
I rarely have mirrors in my dreams. Once I went to bed too late and just shut my alarm in the morning and felt asleep again. Then I dreamed about doing my basic morning routines and then wake up 30 min later only having 10 minutes to get ready.
Oh god what is that link I'm scared to click it
It's just a picture of some face with no jaw, just black. Looks weird, not really scary. In a dream, however, I can imagine it would be really fucking terrifying.
