Name in book, get biddies, profit.
risk you life(*10) to get in some shitty book. I remember some article about the guy who had the most world records and he was working in some shitty store to actually make the tiniest bit of money
People stop telling me I'm going to die this isn't good for my determination. :ohdear:
[release]Randy Gardner holds the scientifically documented record for the longest period of time a human being has intentionally gone without sleep not using stimulants of any kind. Gardner stayed awake for 264 hours (11 days), breaking the previous record of 260 hours held by Tom Rounds of Honolulu.[/release] Yes, FP. At age 16 I am attempting to break the world record for the longest (officially documented) length of time without sleep. I need to go for 12 days. As you can probably tell just by reading it, this is only a practice run right now. I have no monitoring equipment. At this moment in time, it's 12:51am on day #2. A Q&A for you: Could you die? Very easily. I was nearly hospitalised when I went for five days about six months ago. If you're being 'monitored', do people watch you all the time? No. Equipment monitoring. I'm too paranoid to have people watching me all the time anyway. Shouldn't you start when you feel better? I didn't party on new year's. (:saddowns:) Why? In the name of science. Logs n shit: 01/01/2011: Day one, normal as expected.
You're going to die
risk you life(*10) to get in some shitty book. I remember some article about the guy who had the most world records and he was working in some shitty store to actually make the tiniest bit of money
I'm self-employed - web developer and networking/systems maintainer.
Would be better to do when your older (as you need less sleep).
People stop telling me I'm going to die this isn't good for my determination. :ohdear:
Well you are. 16 should be old enough to know that this is a stupid idea, no real reason to do it other than to get a peice of paper no one will give a shit about, and get your name in a book with thousands of other names that no one will ever remember.
Wait until you're older, at least then you won't fuck up your developing brain.
I've been awake for 3 days, I started feeling a bit dizzy the second day, but it went away. On the third day I felt physically exhausted.
Guys, remember I've been up to five days before.
I'm sure Guinness stopped giving out world records for staying awake.
Yeah, I read they only put it in their book if you did it unintentionally, since staying awake for too long it far too dangerous for your physical and mental health.
Guys, remember I've been up to five days before.
Each day gets cumulatively worse though. day 6 will feel like day 60, day 7 will be day 700. Though im all for evolution, if you want to remove your stupidity from the future, go ahead.
I'm self-employed - web developer and networking/systems maintainer.
then what's the point in attempting a dangerous world record. I don't think you're realizing that this is extremely dangerous with or without stimulants. You are very likely to die, probably because err humans need sleep? Attempt to break different world record that doesn't involve killing yourself.
This is an awfully roundabout excuse for staying up past your bedtime OP
You'll be going insane the moment the hallucinations start. Trust me, you'll regret this.
Each day gets cumulatively worse though. day 6 will feel like day 60, day 7 will be day 700. Though im all for evolution, if you want to remove your stupidity from the future, go ahead.
Continuing generations of my stupidity is already nulled. Your statement assumes I would ever gain a girlfriend, then wife, then kids.
It will suck when you call in to Guiness world records and they say you need proof from one of there workers.
Guys, remember I've been up to five days before.
If five days nearly got you hospitalised, how the hell are you going to make 12 days... ?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Randy_Gardner_%28record_holder%29
Also, records for voluntary sleep deprivation are no longer kept by Guinness World Records for fear that participants will suffer ill effects.
So there you go. no point at all now.
You can do it! I believe in you! :buddy:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Randy_Gardner_%28record_holder%29 So there you go. no point at all now.
Doing it anyway for the hell of it. Just because it's not registered in the book doesn't mean it can't be a world record. [editline]2nd January 2011[/editline]
You can do it! I believe in you! :buddy:
Thank you! :buddy: [editline]2nd January 2011[/editline]
This is an awfully roundabout excuse for staying up past your bedtime OP
Made my day(s).
I can't wait to see you start hallucinating. I've got 6 days once, it scared the living fuck out of me.
Without the use of stimulants? Does that include coffe and energy drinks?
Attention Seeking
this is bad D=
Without the use of stimulants? Does that include coffe and energy drinks?
Yes. This is a trial though. For the purposes of staying alive (I'm caffeine dependant) I will be intaking caffeine and guarana/taurine/etc.
Guess what guys! We're all world record holders. Anyone who doesn't hold a world record holds the "fewest number of world records" record, and thus has 1 world record. :shobon:
But then we don't hold that record anymore.
Attention Seeking
:what:
You're being blinded by fame or whatever man, you're not achieving anything and you risk killing yourself in that process. Alright, I'll stop trying to prevent you from killing yourself now.
However, Lt. Cmdr. John J. Ross, who monitored his health, reported serious cognitive and behavioral changes. These included moodiness, problems with concentration and short term memory, paranoia, and hallucinations. On the fourth day he had a delusion that he was Paul Lowe winning the Rose Bowl, and that a street sign was a person. On the eleventh day, when he was asked to subtract seven repeatedly, starting with 100, he stopped at 65. When asked why he had stopped, he replied that he had forgotten what he was doing.[1]
See? You are going to be seriously messed up. Also, I was right about the hallucinations.
See? You are going to be seriously messed up. Also, I was right about the hallucinations.
I won't be leaving the house. I bought bagels and stuff yesterday.
