The best thing i can think for Star Wars is to take a decade-long hiatus. Bring some fresh blood and fresh ideas into franchise, and start a new film series set no less than 1000 years after the events of the original trilogy.
Haha, like George Lucas would allow anyone with actual talent mess with his series again. Remember, he had all of his stupid ideas shot down for A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back, which is why you didn't see something stupid like the Ewoks until Return of the Jedi, where he had made enough money that he got rid of those people.
wait, there were people who didn't like brave?
it was one of the most generic, bland and boring animated films i've ever seen and it was a PIXAR movie when they said it was "freaky friday with bears" i thought they were kidding
not even natalie portman could have saved the movies and quite frankly she just gave up in episode 2 and blatantly does a reading of the atrocious dialogue all the way since christensen: i killed all the sand ppl and their women and children too just bc my mom died portman: its human to be angry okay and then in episode 3 she finds out he killed a bunch of children who are already on the process of being trained to kill and her character finally snaps out of whatever shit lucas smeared on her nobody seems to notice her character was drastically raped, she went from a smart and capable fighter/ruler in episode 1 to a dumbfuck that couldnt tell how fucked up vader is, there was even a scene where he told her that he supports dictatorship and she just goes lol haha you so charming in all honesty after watching all 3 of the prequels id say ep1 and ep3 were the slightly decent ones to have come out, the only thing i absolutely couldnt stand in ep1 was jar jar binks, and what saved ep3 for me was palpatines acting
she's a woman. pregnancy and mood swings don't mix well.

That was originally supposed to be a Wookiee village and etc, but budget cuts made them pretty much literally cut them in half.
[t]http://pietistschoolman.files.wordpress.com/2011/07/guns_of_the_south.jpg[/t] Great, great book. Would make a pretty nice movie.
Hell, anyone of Turtledove's books would make a decent film. Speaking of adaptations, I'd like to see a Vertical Run film.
[thumb]http://i49.tinypic.com/2wn2ou9.jpg[/thumb] The one thing, the one thing, this movie had issues with was that the special effects team had trouble consistently depicting some unearthly horrors well. Get John Carpenter back onboard, get Guillermo Del Toro to sign up for makeup/design, throw them both in a room together and wait.
I'd like a Matrix prequel or sequel. But it needs to be more fun like the first Matrix and the first half of Reloaded. The second half of Reloaded and Revolution were too melodramatic and serious. The first film was fun because of all the allusions to video games, computers, and hacking. The last parts of the Matrix trilogy also lacked the hair raising awe and wonder the first Matrix had.
they're faltering tbh cars 2, brave have been lower quality than usual, and two more sequels doesn't sound so good for the future (unoriginality is never a good sign) cars 2 and brave were not horrible by any means but to say they were on par with or better than their other films would be lying and you know it
From what I've heard, Monsters University (Monsters Inc. prequel where Mike and Sully are in college. No huge adventure, it's basically Revenge of the Nerds, but by Pixar) is the funniest thing Pixar has ever made. There's been reports of them having trouble with test audiences laughing so much that they miss out on chunks of diologue and additional jokes. So I have high hopes for it.

I was really looking forward to seeing Gunslinger and possibly other books in The Dark Tower series to be adapted for film, but it got turned down by WB. Such is life. [editline]5th November 2012[/editline]
where the fuck is my incredibles sequel
They're too busy making Monsters Inc 2, which nobody wanted lmfao
I was really looking forward to seeing Gunslinger and possibly other books in The Dark Tower series to be adapted for film, but it got turned down by WB. I want to see a sequel to the 2004 Punisher film, especially after Thomas Jane made that little fanfilm of his.
Apparently i was wrong and $4 billion can make George do anything.
Look at it this way; Star Wars has suffered because Lucas had TOO MUCH power. No one was brave enough to tell him, "No, Mr. Lucas, that's a terrible idea." When he was making the original trilogy, he had to listen to outsider input. With the prequels, no such input existed. It's like with college essays, when they tell you "get other people to read what you've written so you can improve it". Now that Disney's got it, it'll stay financially sound (not like it really needed help, but still), Lucas will still be a creative consultant (it IS his franchise, after all), and there'll be some new blood to freshen things up. Remember, they didn't just buy Star Wars, but ALL of Lucasfilm. This means Disney owns Indiana Jones, Willow, and I assume stuff like Grim Fandango and Day of the Tentacle. Hell, they own Muppets AND Star Wars, meaning Muppet Babies and all that stuff could get released on DVD, finally. Lucas said he wanted to retire from filmmaking, take a break, make some independent stuff in his garage, that sort of thing. And apparently, he wasn't lying.
the new die hard i want bruce willis' nuts in my mouth i hear he has a backyard with lots of walnut trees
This series was amazing, would have loved to see another few episodes of it.
I would love to see a film adaptation of the Gaunt's Ghosts books. A WH40K movie is way overdue. And they proved it could be done well with that Ultramarines movie. It was well written even if the animation and voice-acting sucked. But even then, a film about real people fighting a believably realistic war would be much better than that cheesy space-marine crap. And this book series has a huge number of deeply fleshed out, interesting characters.

We have enough gritty war movies without adding a grimdark 40K movie. I want some comedy! and action! Some COMEDACTION! That sounds like stomach disease, doesn't it?
I'd love to see a movie adaptation of this:
We have enough gritty war movies without adding a grimdark 40K movie. Have a running gag where a space marine keeps getting smashed by IG equipment.
I would like to see Dark Empire in some sort of adaption.
I would like to see Dark Empire in some sort of adaption.
now that disney owns star wars and plans to release films every few years, they'll eventually have no choice but to adapt EU stuff and simply go "it's non-canon," so that fans don't get butthurt.
The whole Jackals series of books would make great movies if done right. Lots of steampunk badassery and alternate history coolness.
The Birds by Alfred Hitchcock Though I actually love this movie, I think it would be interesting to see a remake with the intended ending (that Alfred wrote, but couldn't make due to difficulties with the film) and with the use of modern cinema technology. If it could be possible to recreate the suspense and atmosphere this film has but with more engaging visuals. (Also keeping it in the correct time period, which is late 60's - so no birds pecking at people's iphones) I'm sure many would disagree with this choice for a remake, but I'd still like to see if it could be done.
proper War of the Worlds please thanks

they sort of did, it was a disaster called birdemic.
