I didn't know that but it sounds funny and I want to hear more, is there an article about it or something? I can't find it with google.
Rendezvous With Rama by Arthur C. Clarke. Without a doubt it's the best science fiction novel I've ever had the pleasure of reading, I recommend it to anyone, sci-fi fan or not. Even Morgan Freeman wants in on making it.
I'd like an Army of Darkness remake with a higher budget for effects and for it to take itself a bit more seriously. I realize the tackiness is part of the charm, but I think it could still be pretty good if it wasn't quite so silly. And of course if Bruce Campbell isn't in it then it isn't worth anything.

I only heard about that on the radio. They didn't mention any of the shit ideas either, but I can only assume some of them made their way into the prequel trilogy.
Okay, hold onto your butts, 'cause this so going to sound REALLY REALLY REALLY stupid...
Say you have a movie set in this dreary old town. It used to have this AMAZING amusement park, but it's since closed up and the town is now just a boring-ass place to live.
So some eccentric dude blows into town like the Monorail salesman in that one Simpsons episode and suggests renovating the park. His profession? [sp]A Rollercoaster Tycoon[/sp]. He travels from place to place, flipping amusement parks for a profit. So he teams up with some townspeople and they make some super-amazing theme park.
Think of it as sorta-like the Music Man, but with theme parks.
And maybe animated by the people who made Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs.
I dunno, it was just a crazy idea that has resided at the back of my head for some time now...
Thoughts?
I really wish they would do a full adaptation of the game "Alan Wake"
It has a great storyline and if its done right it would be a big hit, and more people that haven't heard about the game will go buy the game and play it.
games with good storylines dont need to be adapted to movies
it just wouldnt work because you either make a straight adaptation (which is lazy and pointless other than just to appeal to the horde of fans that knows no difference between how movies and games play out) or a completely different direction which leaves fans raging why so many things arent the same as the original source material and how "cool it would have been to see this part of the game happen in the movie"
I get what you're saying (honestly, it makes total sense), but I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't like some Red Dead Redemtion movies (Part 1: New Austin, Part 2: Mexico, Part 3: Blackwater).

But, the game already plays out like a tv series/film.
you can have both in a 40K setting
the humor just has to be of the blackest, darkest and grittiest kind
also i think it should show some Space Marines, but only briefly
So long as it's about Ork Pirates, that would be interesting.

That sounds...pretty damn good. Although, the Music Man was about a con artist. Will the tycoon be one as well?

I dunno, maybe V:v:V
Call of Cthulhu.
War of the worlds, on the whole i really enjoyed the tom cruise film but i want to see something more akin to the book, i wanna see Thunderchild go down heroically in battle.
Call of Cthulhu.
the hp lovecraft society made it into a black and white silent film, to reflect upon the era the story was written in.
it's pretty fantastic.

They could do a spin-off too it though.
Like the webisodes they had before the game came out, it could be really really good.
Call of Cthulhu.
Most of the Cthulu Mythos stories would make interesting movies.
I'd like to see someone adapt some of his Dunsany-esque stories in the dream world. Visually, they'd be astounding if pulled off right.
War of the worlds, on the whole i really enjoyed the tom cruise film but i want to see something more akin to the book, i wanna see Thunderchild go down heroically in battle.
i also want to see real heat-rays (they'd have to visible tho because the audience might not dig invisible lazer beamz) and martian tech that combines steampunk with modern sci-fi
hell, get Viktor Antonov to design the tripods, or Keith Thompson for even more alien look
So long as it's about Ork Pirates, that would be interesting.
a movie following some rogue trader could be interesting too
but yeah it should have da orkz

With soundblaster or amiga chiptune soundtrack please.
It'd be wonderful to see a Silent Hill movie with less emphasis on the graphic, rusty Otherworld or the wacky cult or spooky ooglie-booglies and more emphasis on the main character going through self-discovery and the crushingly lonely atmosphere in Silent Hill 2, set up by the foggy, quiet town and it's sparse inhabitants who are subtly disturbed and twisted like their surroundings. And less Pyramid Head, since it doesn't make much sense to have someone else's personal demons in your own nightmare. I'm not alone on this, right?

what
army of darkness WAS good and it was BECAUSE of the b-movie charm and the fact that it didn't take itself seriously at all
that's like wanting them to redo cabin in the woods and make it a generic cabin in the woods horror flick
A Grand Theft Auto movie would be cool , in the style of the GTA 2 intro movie .

Including drum & bass soundtrack .
^ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Theft_Auto_(film) not that it has anything to do with the games, and precedes them by 20 years or so.
Snatch is quite GTA-y.
Although I think its unlikely, I'd love to see a remake of this:
Coraline, the 2009 animated movie could have a prequel or some shit but I don't think any more books were written. Oh well, probably one of my favorite stop motion movies of all time.
Thisssss
I'd heard Ridley Scott was going to do Blood Meridian a few years back, but I guess he's opted out for The Prosecutor.

Can't really see him doing it, personally I think someone like the Coen Brothers or John Hilcoat would do it more justice
Coincidently both have directed Cormac Mccarthy adaptations
This scene feels like something about Blood Meridian to me (John Hilcoat's The Proposition)
